Extraordinary Temperaments

“Oh, I almost didn’t recognize you. So it's Miss Foster. Why, are you here? To see a doctor? Is it an infectious disease or a venereal disease?” Dina blocked in front of Avery and mocked and ridiculed Willa.

Willa’s expression immediately changed, pointing at Dina, she cursed, "Watch your mouth, who do you think you are? Isn't you the Gomez family's illegitimate daughter?”

"An illegitimate daughter is better than you, a crappy bitch." Dina placed her hands on her hips, showing no fear.

Dina was famous for her ferocity, so Willa was naturally not her match.

"You, you …" Willa was so angry that her entire body was trembling, but she could not utter a single word.

"Alright, Willa. Don't lower yourself to the same level as that shrew. Be careful of your fetus." The girl at the side tugged on Willa’s arm.

Willa stroked her lengthy hair, her hand gently caressing her lower abdomen, as she boasted, "Avery, I forgot to tell you. I'm pregnant.”

"Is that so? Congratulations,” Avery replied blandly, without a single ripple on her face. It was as if this was a trivial matter that had nothing to do with her.

On the contrary, Willa was disappointed. She just wanted to see Avery’s desperate and pained appearance, but she couldn't find a single trace of similar emotions on her exquisite face. She could only stomp her feet in dissatisfaction.

“Avery, have you not figured out that I am pregnant with Alex’s child?”

Avery smiled, and replied in a neutral tone, “I hope so too." She took off her rubber gloves, tossed them into the trash can, and walked past them in the direction of the office.

"Pfft!" Dina could not help but burst out laughing. Avery had always been a quiet person, but you must not think that she was really easy to bully.

"Willa, don't be angry, we still need to do some inspections. Didn't you say that your lower abdomen has always been swollen and aching?” the girl beside her advised.

"I'm going home,” Willa said sulkily as she stepped on her high heels and left.

Avery sat at her desk, earnestly writing down the surgical records, the tip of her pen hitting the white paper, making a soft rustling sound. A sudden ringtone suddenly broke her train of thought.

She frowned and picked up the office phone on the table. She did not expect that it was her mother-in-law, Eva, who called.

"Mom?"

"Blake’s phone isn't in the service area, and since you turned your phone off too, I had to call your office."

Avery was not surprised, since the day of her marriage, her mother-in-law was not satisfied with her. Before this, Eva already had a candidate for a daughter-in-law in her heart.

"I'm having an operation. Do you need anything?" Avery asked timidly.

"It's your dad's birthday today, so he doesn't want any big events. Come back for dinner tonight." After Eva finished speaking, she hung up the phone. She was not even stingy enough to say one more word.

Avery looked at the phone that kept on beeping and laughing bitterly. Obviously, Eva couldn't contact her son and had no choice but to grab her to be a laborer.

After hanging up, Avery dialed Blake’s number. If it really wasn't in the service area, she could only go to his company and try her luck.

Avery drove her Beetle steadily on the road, and at the intersection of HH Road, waiting for the signal, she casually put her arm on the steering wheel. Her beautiful eyes slightly narrowed and stared fixedly at the giant signboard beside the road.

It was an advertisement for a concert. A month later, the first concert was given by a famous national orchestra at the Royal Theatre. The woman in the huge poster was dressed in a black evening dress, noble and elegant. Behind her was a pure white grand piano. This woman was Angie, an internationally renowned pianist and former girlfriend of Blake. Her beauty and nobility could overshadow any woman who claimed to be beautiful.

The corner of Avery’s mouth lifted into a self-deprecating smile. What qualifications did she have to be compared with Angie, compared to her, she was just an ugly duckling.

An ear-piercing car whistle broke her imagination, only then did she realize that the signal light had already turned green, the car in front had already started to move, and the car behind her was anxiously rushing her, she quickly started the engine and started the car.

Blake’s company was located in the most prosperous area of S City. There was a 22-story tall business building, which was only an office area, with a few factories located in the suburbs.

She drove the car into the underground parking lot and took the private elevator directly to the 22nd-floor president's office. She was received by Jane, the secretary of the CEO. She was a smart and capable woman who was over thirty years old.

Avery sat on the sofa in the lounge, the secretary brought over a cup of warm blue mountain coffee. She took a sip and asked, "Where's Blake?"

"Director Anderson is going to Nightless to discuss business matters with Boss Smith,” Jane answered truthfully.

"Thank you, then I'll be leaving first." Avery smiled, then picked up her bag and stood up. Talking about business and going to the Nightless city? Blake was really something.

Jane sent Avery to the elevator and when they were waiting for the elevator, whispers came from behind them.

"Did you see that? That was the CEO's wife just now."

"She's pretty young. She's quite compatible with our Boss."

"Didn't you see that three years ago, when Anderson married her, it was a Grand wedding? I heard that it's Governor Foster’s daughter.”

"If it wasn't for the Governor's daughter, Director Anderson wouldn't have married her. Sigh, this isn't an era that can be hurt like this."

Jane’s palms were drenched in a cold sweat, and her eyes turned to look at Avery, only to see her expression did not change, as if she did not hear anything.

The doors of the elevator opened and closed as she escorted Avery away. Jane turned around and growled at the crowd, "So idle talk! Don’t you have work? Mr. Anderson does not raise idle people.”

Being yelled at like that, the 22nd floor immediately fell silent as they focused on their work one by one.

Nightless, is the most luxurious bar in S city. It was a place filled with money.

On a large leather sofa in a slightly dark corner, two men with extraordinary temperaments were seated.

With one hand, Trevor Smith swirled the goblet while holding a woman with heavy makeup on the other arm. “Anderson, today is the birthday of your father, if you don't go home and be a filial son, what are you doing staying here with me?”
