Blake nodded politely, turned, and left. The door made a slight opening and closing sound.

The moment he left, Angie, who was on top of the sickbed, opened her eyes. A hint of a ridiculing smile could be seen in her eyes.

"Mom, why is it that when a relationship is over, a man can turn around without any delay while a woman can't? Did he love me? Why am I the only one who was lonely right now?"

"Silly girl, don't think too much. If he doesn't love you, then he wouldn't have come to your side regardless of everything that happens to you."
