Chapter Twenty-three

Kendrick stepped in beside her and took her hand when Hailey started walking ahead. She wriggled her wrist but gave up as his grip tightened.

The moment they stepped out of the elevator, he brought out his phone to make a call, while Hailey's eyes roamed over the place.

The vast area was mostly filled with pregnant ladies. Some were seated on the waiting chairs with their husbands beside them. Some were walking around, with hands supporting their waists. And a number of the hospital staff were helping the heavily pregnant ones take a stroll.

Her eyes stopped at a corner, where an angry-looking woman was bantering with her husband who seemed like he could break down at the moment. Then to another lady who was being fed some fruits by her husband. Another frail lady who seemed a lot younger than her sat in a corner alone, Hailey was surprised she could bear the weight of her huge stomach.
