Arielle

Tiffany’s line was unreachable, so I waited, hoping for a miracle. I waited until nightfall.

Darius did the same. He wasn’t backing down.

The moment the headache started creeping in again, I reached for my pills. After taking them, I relaxed on the couch, my eyes fixed on the ceiling, my hands tapping slowly against my chest.

Tiffany should have been back by now. It was past seven. Tessa’s lights were also off, which meant she hadn’t returned from work either.

Arielle A heavy silence settled over the room. Tessa stepped forward and hugged Tiffany once more, easing the tension that had suddenly filled the house. “Well,” she said softly as she pulled away. “We’re just happy you’re out of that hellhole.”A small smile appeared on Tiffany’s face. “How’s the baby kicking?”The smile vanished. Her face turned pale. Tessa frowned. Tiffany hesitated before speaking. “I lied,” she admitted quietly, touching her belly. “There’s no baby.”Tessa blinked. “What?”“I wasn’t pregnant the whole time.”Tessa looked from Tiffany’s stomach to me. I simply nodded.“So why did you lie about something like that?” She asked. Tiffany lowered her gaze and fidgeted with her fingers. She looked ashamed. Before she could answer, I spoke. “Because Blake forced her to.”Tessa stared for a moment before sighing. “Well…that’s actually a relief.”Tiffany let out a nervous laugh. “But speaking of Blake,” Tessa continued. “Is he still locked up?”“Yes.”That earned a

Arielle The smile on my face slowly faded. Why had Xavier bowed to Leo?It felt strange. As Leo disappeared into the crowd, I found myself wondering who he really was. I slid into the seat beside Tessa. She looked just as thoughtful. Good. At least, I wasn’t imagining things. “What would you like, ladies?” Xavier asked with a charming smile after serving another customer. “Sex on the beach," Tessa replied immediately. My eyes widened. “Again?” I whispered. She was looking really exhausted. She didn’t need one. She looked at me innocently. “What? You don’t want one?”“No,” I rubbed my temple. “I think we’ve had enough alcohol for one night. I feel dizzy, I just want to go home.”“Fair enough.” Tessa grabbed her bag and stood. “We don’t want anything, Xavier.”He nodded. “Have a good night.”“You, too," I said before following Tessa out of the club. The cool night air hit my face instantly. I inhaled deeply. While Tessa opened her ride app, I glanced at her. “I’m sorry I inter

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife    Walking Past Me With A Woman

Arielle My heart sank. For a second, I forgot to breathe. My gaze locked with Darius’s across the crowded club. To me, everything else disappeared. It was just him. My pulse hammered violently against my ribs. Why was he here? I thought he’d left for England. A small smile crept onto my lips before I could stop it. Then it disappeared. A woman slipped into the seat beside him and kissed his cheek. My stomach dropped. Her hand rested comfortably on his arm. And Darius never looked away from her. The warmth inside me vanished instantly. I turned around before I could think twice. Was she my replacement? Had he lied about the business trip? Had he only said he was leaving because he wanted me gone? The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. I was practically shaking. I pushed through the crowd, searching for Tessa. Eventually, I found her. And immediately wished I hadn’t. She was pressed against the waiter from earlier. They were completely lost in each other. Kissin

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife    One Shot Too Many

Arielle The next morning, Tessa and I spent the day cleaning the house. Saturdays were her only off days. And Sundays, thanks to Jason, were now apparently reserved for recovery. Finally, we had time to catch up on what we’ve missed. Speaking of Jason, something about last night still bothered me. I could see it in Tessa’s eyes. Even though she barely said anything about it, she didn’t seem completely happy. Something had happened. After cleaning, we settled at the dining table for breakfast. I watched her quietly as she ate. “So,” I began, stirring my juice. “When are you going to tell me why Jason left?” A small smile appeared on her lips. “The rain was the only thing keeping him here,” she said casually. “When it stopped, he left. No big deal.”I narrowed my eyes. At some point, I became worried. Tiffany used to answer questions like that. “Did he hurt you?”Tessa nearly choked on her food. Then she burst out laughing. “Now, why would he do that?”“I don’t know,” I said c

Arielle “I mean—that’s why I had to distance myself,” I continued. “Do you know what I had to go through with Amber? You weren’t there when she and her friends beat me to a pulp in public.”Emris’s jaw tightened.“I already explained why Amber and I started dating in the first place,” he said. “And when she came to your apartment that day, she apologized.”I stared at him in disbelief. “You call that an apology?” “Arielle—““No, seriously. You call that an apology?” I snapped. “The moment she showed up, you turned into the perfect boyfriend. You couldn’t even repeat the things you’d told me when she wasn’t around.”His expression hardened. For a moment, none of us spoke. Then he looked away. I took a slow breath and stepped back. “No. I’m not doing this with you.” I turned and headed for the door. “Arielle.”I ignored him. “Arielle, wait.”I walked faster. By the time I reached the staircase, my heart was pounding. I hurried downstairs, weaving through groups of students and lo

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife    Years Too Late

Arielle Emris led me upstairs to a quieter part of the house. Unfortunately, the room he took me to was his bedroom. I paused near the doorway and looked around. Wow. His parents really adored him. Several expensive paintings decorated the walls. A massive floor-to-ceiling window overlooked the city, lights glowing beautifully against the dark evening sky. There was a large wardrobe, a gaming setup, and, surprisingly, a small bar tucked into one corner of the room. Everything screamed luxury. “I want you to feel at home,” Emris said as he poured two glasses of wine. He walked toward me and offered one. I shook my head. “No, thanks.”“It’s just wine.”“I already had juice downstairs.”He smiled faintly. “One glass won’t hurt.”“I’m fine, really.” I offered an apologetic smile. “I just wanted somewhere quiet away from all the attention.”His shoulders relaxed. “Fair enough.”Without another word, he drank both glasses. I sat carefully on the edge of his bed. The mattress was ri
