Nora's POV

I felt strange as I woke up from bed the next day, acutely aware of the nightmare I had and intensely grateful to be alive. I pinched my skin to confirm that I was still alive. I breathed in relief, a smile lifting up the edges of my lips as I glanced around my bedroom, the sight of the familiar environment healing my frayed mind.

That was the perfect therapy I needed.

I moved to the bathroom, showered and dressed up, needing to feel alive and active. I was putting on my earrings when I heard a knock on the door.

"Good morning, Madam Sasha."

"Morning, Jane." I replied, recognizing her voice.

"Your breakfast is ready. Should I bring it in?"

"No," I said, shaking my head even though I knew she couldn't see me. "I want to eat out today."

Even though I knew I was back to reality, I still felt the fear from the nightmare clinging to me.

"Okay." She said and left without another word.

I gasped as I walked into the dining room and met Damon seated there, munching on toast as he f

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   Paradise in the Grip of Darkness

Nora's POVI heard someone softly calling my name and stirred, feeling the grip of the nightmare slowly loosening over my subconscious. I breathed as Mark faded into the darkness and gasped as my eyes opened and landed on Damon.I was curled up in his arms, his arms wrapped around me and his lips muttering softly to me. I didn't know which was more shocking to me as I stared at him: that he was in my room or was comforting me?He noticed my gaze on him and stopped, removing his hand quickly from my body and cleared his throat, obviously feeling awkward.I groaned at the loss of contact, suddenly feeling the lack of warmth. "I heard you scream." He scratched his neck nervously as he explained his presence in my room, thinking I was staring at him because I didn't want him inside."Thank you." He nodded. "I should go now that you are fine." He made a move to stand up."Please don't." I squeaked, my hand reaching out to his before I could think much of what I was doing. I grabbed his

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   The Sacrifice Love Makes

Damon's POV "I will be in my study." I said to Nora as we got back home, heading off without a glance at her. I felt unhinged the more I stayed in her presence and I knew that wasn't her fault but that of the aunties in my family. They had messed with my head by gushing that she and I made a cute couple and I hated that I found myself agreeing with them. The only thing I needed to fix myself and cure the stupid acceptance of intimacy in my head was to throw myself into work.I breathed in relief as I walked into my study, stepping behind the desk and settling down with the files that I didn't need to work on. I had already worked on them and due to the recent rejections of contracts I'd been getting, I was afraid there would be fewer contracts to work on and I might end up becoming jobless.I couldn't allow that. I picked up my phone and dialed Hart, biting my lower lip nervously as I waited for him to pick up."Hello," Hart groaned into the phone. "Damon?"I frowned at his words. "

Nora's POV "What a lovely pair you two make." Another of the aunties gushed as she stared at me and Damon."Thank you." I replied, my lips aching with how wide I'd spread them in a smile for the past two hours."We have to be on our way, Aunt Mabel." Damon said, his hand wrapped around my waist in a possessive manner all day long.I knew that was on purpose as Cara had almost fainted with glee when she saw Damon's hand around my waist. I couldn't deny how fast my heart had jumped too when his skin made contact with mine and regretted that it wasn't real."Do you always have to rush home after every family occasion?" Cara sighed, leveling him with an exasperated glare.Mabel chuckled, placing a comforting hand on Cara's shoulder. "You shouldn't complain, sister, but instead be glad that he is here.""It's true." Brenda, Damon's cousin, said. "When was the last time you saw Damon at a family party?" She asked, a teasing glint in her eyes as she stared at Damon.Damon snorted, swatting

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   The Dead Can't Speak

Nora's POV I pondered on the strange call for hours, wondering if it was really who I thought it was. It shouldn't be. I winced in pain and realized that I had been biting my lip. I pulled my lip from the hold of my teeth and ran my tongue over the abused lip, soothing it."It's time for dinner, Madam Sasha." Jane called through the door as she knocked gently on it.I breathed in relief at her voice, grateful that it wasn't Betsy again. I didn't think I wanted to have her anywhere near me with how paranoid I felt. I might lose it if I got aware of her unnecessary watchful eyes."I will be right outside." On a second thought, I decided against going out to eat. "Can you bring my meal here, please?""No problem." She replied.I heard her footsteps retracting and I hunched back on the bed, feeling my soul broken. Could it be Nancy who had called me?I shook my head at the absurd thought. It couldn't be her. My sister was long dead. I would have known if she was still alive and I wouldn'

  • The Billionaire's Prisoner Wife   When the Ghost Comes Knocking

Nora's POV "What?" I gasped as I stared at my phone screen, my hands trembling with fear. What was this? Why was Mark doing this to me? Did I have to die to be rid of him?I felt wetness on my lap and realized that I had started crying. I swiped off the tears on my face and forced myself to continue reading the post."Help! My girlfriend is missing. I don't know where she is but I know she is alive. She is Nora, twenty-six, has black long hair and black eyes. If anyone sees her or knows anything about her whereabouts, kindly reach out to me." I let out a long hiss as I finished reading. Was he kidding? Help? Who needed help between the two of us? I wondered how he got money to pay off a blogger, knowing that he didn't have any and neither did he have friends in the journalism industry.I had no idea what Mark was up to but I wasn't about to be found by him. What if people in Damon's circle found the post and started wondering if Sasha knew she had someone who looked like her? What if
