LOGINTHEODORE
What the hell was I doing? That question kept echoing in my mind as I sat in the back of my Acura TSX, next to the woman I had whisked away from her home. After I managed to convince Catalina to help me, I received an unexpected call from my mother to have dinner with my new girlfriend. This led to me asking Catalina's father for permission to take Catalina to Los Angeles. “I don't think that's appropriate,” he frowned. “My daughters are respectable ladies, so they should be treated as such.” Yeah, right. The first thing the youngest daughter, Rosalia, told me when I asked about Catalina was how she fucked her fiancé two hours before I arrived. The news was enough to consider walking out the door, but I was too desperate right now. And Mateo promised me she would deliver. I exhaled sharply, finally forcing myself to steal a glance at the woman I had spent over six hours tracking down. Damn, she was gorgeous. She sat with her legs crossed, eyes fixed on the cityscape beyond the tinted window. Her pale skin shimmered like porcelain, soft and inviting. Silky, blonde hair cascaded down her back, framing a face with emerald eyes that made her look like a fucking wet dream. It was too bad my heart already belonged to my uncle's fiancée. “So,” she turned to me, eyeing me from head to toe before settling on my face. “Tell me everything about this, Hannah. And I want to know only the truth because there's no way I will be played for a fool again.” Fair enough. “Hannah was my high school sweetheart.” I cleared my throat lightly. As much as I enjoyed having her eyes on my body, this wasn't a conversation to be taken lightly. “We got engaged two years ago before my father died.” Her hard expression softened. “I'm so sorry for your loss.” I nodded grimly. My father's death was a very dark, suffocating period in my life. A lot of corporate vultures hovered around my family, claiming to have our best interests at heart, but instead, they nearly led us into bankruptcy. I was forced to juggle between completing my master's degree and salvaging what was left of my father's legacy. “That's also the time I pushed Hannah away,” I confessed. “I was too deep in my pain, too blind to see I was pushing the only person who cared for me the most. When she couldn't endure it anymore, she called it quits and returned her engagement ring.” Catalina nodded like she understood the situation. “So where are we going?” “To my family home,” I replied. I told her about the call I received from my mother and assured her it would be a brief meeting. Grabbing the document I had my assistant prepare in advance, I passed it to her as we sped towards the airstrip where my private plane was waiting for us. Catalina barely flipped a few pages before she turned to me with a silent look of confusion. “You'll need all the personal information about me you can get,” I explained. She couldn't be allowed to slip up in front of my mother, or else there would be hell to pay. “We just have to convince my family tonight that we are dating, and then I will handle the rest.” Catalina let out a snort that sounded so sexy I had to blink twice. She set aside the document before replying. “Then we don't need these papers to do so, silly.” “What do you have in mind?” A glint of mischief flickered in her eyes this time. “You'll see.” Although I had a few reservations, I decided to push them to the back of my mind since she was the experienced one here. A few hours later, we landed in Los Angeles on a private airstrip a few meters from my family home. When Catalina stepped down from the plane, her beauty took my breath away. I made a mental note to raise my assistant's pay for the amazing job he did in hiring those stylists. From the short, sexy red dress she had donned earlier, Catalina had transformed into a goddess in a black satin gown. Her hair was styled into a sleek ponytail, accentuating her bronze eye makeup and red lipstick. Catalina's lips curved upwards when she noticed my speechlessness. “So, what do you think?” My brain failed to process the words she had said and the appropriate words needed for a response. Fortunately, my assistant stepped forward to compliment her. “You look stunning, Miss Rodriguez,” he said with a stoic voice. “You should proceed to the car. We don't have much time left.” Catalina let herself be guided by my assistant while I tagged along. I knew what I was doing was wrong, but I was unable to stop staring at her ass. Catalina was a very sensual female, and she had no qualms about showing it. Or else, why the hell would she be giving me such sultry glances? Thirty minutes later, we drove through the private estate and finally reached my family's mansion. Catalina stopped me just before I reached for the door handle. “Wait a minute,” she said. “I still haven't told you my plan yet.” “What do you have in mind?” I asked. The next second, Catalina closed the distance between us. Her fingers curled around my neck as she brushed her lips against mine. She pulled back for a second, looked at me, and then kissed me again. This time, my senses vanished into air as I wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. My hands roamed her body, exploring every curve on her body. She tasted like honey and cinnamon mixed together. I couldn't get enough of her taste, and the sounds she made nearly drove me to insanity. I felt her slender fingers tug my tie at the same time she melded her body to mine. She made me want to act like a beast, something I had never done before. In fact, I'd never wanted any woman like this. “Uncle!” a child squealed, opening the door abruptly. The next thing I heard was a loud gasp, which made me pull away from Catalina. Shock and confusion echoed across all my family's faces as they gathered to welcome me. I immediately shielded Catalina with my body, expecting to see her outraged expression. Instead, she gave me a triumphant grin as she wiped a lipstick stain from my lips. “Hello, Mother,” she smiled sweetly.CATALINAI paced back and forth in the room, my foot aching with each step but I didn't let myself stop. Not when I just discovered that my husband's life was in danger and I was helpless to do anything about it. Who the hell was Gonzalez? Why did he want Theodore dead?I bit my lower lip, thinking about how to solve this problem. From the looks of it, it seemed that even Mateo was wary of this person, or else he wouldn't have called Theodore to warn him like this. This was someone that was far dangerous, a bigger problem than both of them could handle. I was so deep in thought that I didn't even realize when the door opened again. Theodore froze at the entrance, watching me pace back and forth with a nervous expression. After some seconds, he composed himself and walked straight to the bedside table to drop the tray of food before approaching me.“Catalina.”I jerked when I felt a touch on my shoulder. “What the hell—Theodore! What are you doing here?”My husband folded his arms a
CATALINAI jolted from sleep that night, breathless and confused. It took me a while to remember my surroundings, and even more time to unclench my hands gripping the bedsheets. It was all because of that dream again, the one I'd been having since I'd been rescued. Dreams of me and Chyna in the warehouse. People shooting at us. Me stumbling down, unable to go forward and then the Chyna comes to help me. She gets shot by them, blood trickling down her head until she falls...I gasped loudly, pushing the memories away. It would do be no good to remember these things, not now when it was clear that I had things I needed to do. I pushed myself up and glanced around my surroundings, taking in the sight of the state-of-the-art medical equipments used for my recovery. Even the air didn't smell antiseptic like it should in a hospital room, but it was filled with a rich, lavender scent. “Theodore...” I muttered instinctively, lowering my gaze to the soft sheets underneath my fingertips. Of
THEODORE They had to be fucking kidding me. I stared at my grandmother in disbelief, wondering why the hell she was telling me these words. She was the one who set the rule that no one in the family was allowed to cheat on their spouse, yet she was granting them the permission to get married?“Grandmother,” I began, closing my eyes for a brief second to get some respectful words out before I lost my sanity. “Do you know what you are saying? She's pregnant for Conrad!”My grandmother didn't even spare a glance at the woman who was crying in my mother's arms. In fact, she also ignored Conrad who had been kneeling in front of her for the past thirty minutes, choosing to only communicate with me. “I can see that,” she said, her voice frail but firm at the same time. “She's carrying the bloodline of the Knight family. I have already confirmed it.”“That's it?” I asked, unable to believe what she was saying. “You're going to let them get married just like that? Without any repercussions?
CATALINA When I opened my eyes again, I felt a low groan when pain racked my entire body over a slight movement. That's when I finally remembered my injuries, chasing me to stiffen. The memories flowed one by one, each one more painful than the last until tears flowed from my eyes and spilled on thee pillows. All I could think about was this thought in my mind: Chyna was gone. She was gone and I would never see her again. “No,” I groaned, unable to breath from the despair gripping my heart. “No, no, no. This can't be happening.”The noise finally attracted the person in my room. The corner of my eyes picked up the slight movement from the couch, causing me to turn. It was Theodore. He blinked twice as if getting rid of sleep, and then his eyes landed on me. “Catalina, you're finally awake!”He rushed to me immediately, sitting by my side as he took my hand. His expression was etched with concern as he checked my body for any signs of recovery.“How do you feel?” he asked, his vo
THEODORE The family doctor examined her injuries, taking his time in the room full of people. He poked, prodded and even even ran a couple of test in the hospital room I'd prepared before she was rescued. After some time, he pulled back his stethoscope from her beating chest and stuffed it back into his medicine bag. It took every ounce of me to wait for him to finish his business and approach me. He gave his final diagnosis. “Mrs. Knight will be fine after she wakes up. All she needs is some rest and medicine for her injuries to recover but—” he hesitated slightly, peeking at me through his glasses. “—she has suffered a lot of terrible things which might trigger some post traumatic stress. Be patient with her until she can see a psychologist for evaluation.”I clenched and unclenched my fist, trying to process his words. When I saw her in the funeral, walking on her own two feet towards the coffin, I was so happy. Nothing could describe how I felt to see her breathing right in fro
CATALINA It all felt like a dream when I woke up. I desperately wished it was. Maybe that why I leapt up from my bed and rushed straight out of the room, ending up in the hallway. It took me some time to navigate around the hallway, but I eventually made it downstairs. What I saw there sent a wave of shock through me. The entire house was in mourning. Everyone was dressed in black, even the maids and other staff. A distinct sound coming from a certain direction drew my attention, so I went to the windows to see what was going on. There were several cars parked in front, people coming out of their vehicles and heading straight to the back garden. I couldn't believe it. A maid who had just descended down the stairs, saw me on her way to the kitchen. Her eyes widened as she froze midway. “Mrs. Knight, you're finally awake!” she gasped, her voice slightly breathless. “I-I'll go and inform your husband right away.”“Stop!” I approached her, my heart thundering in my chest. “What's g
