"Jared?" Pennelope's voice was music to my ears. I feel like she was an angel sent from above to save me from drowning to be a devil.

"Mommy!" Jared immediately lifted his hands toward Pennelope, wanting to be carried by her mother.

I chuckled and brought my lips close to his ear, enough so I could whisper to him.

"Baby, you are too heavy for your mother. She will be having a hard time carrying you since she has just woken up. Would you mind if I carry you even just for today?" I softly whispered to him, and he instantly lowered down his hands, just as Pennelope was about to get Jared from me.
