Ethan's POV

I held her face warily and kissed her softly. She was holding my hands on her face, and I smiled when she kissed me back. We both stopped, and our eyes met in contact, screaming with happiness and joy.

"I love you too, Pennelope. I love you so much. I really do." My voice almost shuddered as I said it to her.

There were tears around her eyes, and I am sure they reflected mine as well.

"Mom! Dad!" Jared's shocked voice interrupted both of us.

We both took a glance at him, and we saw him running toward us. His eyes widened, and his lips were wide apart.

I bent down a little and carried him. He immediately wrapped his little hands around my nape as we both faced Pennelope.

"Why did you kiss mommy, dad?" He instantly asked.

But not like his tone earlier, which was full of accusations, his tone right now is just like he wants me to confirm something. I can feel his heart pounding his ribcage, and tears are forming in the sides of his eyes.
