Taking a final look at Alessa, Bryan walked out of the ward leaving her in tears. Alessa burst into another round of tears and cried loudly.
Everything kept getting worse the moment she thought it would get better. What is she supposed to do? Where is she supposed to go? She was so sure her parents wouldn't accept her back.
She was also sure they would have heard the news.
Dr. Wells walked back into the room, Alessa hurriedly wiped her tears as she looked up at him.
He gave her a look but Alessa forced a smile.
“I am really sorry about this ma’am. If there is anything I can do to help, I will.” He said and Alessa nodded.
He is their family doctor, he isn't a stranger so he knows a lot.
“Can you get me a ride?” She asked and sniffed.
“Of course, ma’am.”

Alessa sat in the car and watched the chauffeur drive and at the same time, she was fighting her tears. She was in the car the doctor arranged for her and as dumb as it sounds, she was heading to Bryan’s mansion.
For the last time, she just wanted to try her luck. If she can talk to Bryan, she could plead with him and he might accept her back.
She arrived at the mansion and got out of the car, she watched the car drive off before proceeding to enter.
As she got to the gate, she was stopped by the security.
“I’m sorry ma’am. Mr. Hart asked me not to let you in again. He also dropped this saying they were your only belongings.” He said as he handed her her phone and purse.
With trembling hands, Alessa slowly took them.
“Can you please let me in?” She asked as tears welled up in her eyes again. The security was about to respond but he was interrupted by a voice.
It was Lydia’s voice. She showed up and Alessa felt a lump in her throat. The security bowed and walked away leaving both of them.
“Do you want anything? The last time I checked, you don't live here anymore and you are supposed to be at least five feet away from this mansion.” She said proudly.
Alessa nodded as she ignored everything she said. All she wants is to see Bryan.
“I want to see Bryan. Can you please tell him I am here?” She asked, trying so hard to not make the tears drop and her voice cracking.
“I don't think Bryan wants to see you, he made the rule himself.” She replied with a smile and Alessa nodded.
Forcefully, she wanted to make her way in but Lydia pushed her roughly and she fell.
“Tch. So pathetic. You should accept it bitch. You have no place in this house anymore. You lost and I won. Now, get off this property before I get the guards to throw you out.” She threatened and closed the gate before walking away.
Alessa sniffed as she slowly got off the floor, she didn't know what hurt more. The bruise on her arm or the pain in her heart.
It really was over, she lost Bryan and everything.
She had nowhere else to go except a place, her parent's house. She knows they won't accept her but she could at least try.
With the last dollar bill in her purse, she took a cab to her parent’s house.
She arrived and headed to the front door. Just as she was about to press the doorbell when she got to the front door, the door opened revealing her mother.
“Mum.” Alessa called softly.
She had a stern look on, it was obvious the news about her divorce had already gotten to them.
“And what are you doing here?” She asked.
“I… I... “ Alessa stuttered as she thought of what to say.
“Do you know the news trending in the city right now?” She asked and folded her arms.
“The news about your divorce is what is trending right now. Everyone in the city knows about it. The Harts cut your father off in every business deal they had, you have ruined our family.”
“Mum, I’m sorry. I didn't... “
“I don't want to hear it. Until you settle with your husband, you are not welcome here. You are a disgrace Alessa. You have always been a disgrace.” She said and Alessa started to cry.
“Please, let me in. I have nowhere to go, I really don't know where to go. Please, mum.”
“Don't call me mum. I am not your mother.” She snapped at Alessa and she flinched.
“We took you in and raised you, the least you could do is stay married and we stay rich but you just couldn't because you are nothing but a failure.”
Alessa whimpered as she watched her mother insult her.
“You don't have a home here, get out.”
Immediately, Alessa fell to her knees.
“Please let me in. I’m pregnant.” She cried and her mother scoffed.
“Go to hell with it!” She cursed and slammed the door in her face.
Alessa froze as the realization hit her.
She really has nowhere to go! No one to turn to!
She has nothing and she is pregnant!
She started to panic and cry, she got up and breathed heavily as she made her way out of the house.
She tried to stay calm but all the hurtful words said to her came rushing in. She was glad it was dark, no one could see her crying.
She made her way to the streets and looked around. Her tears kept falling, she had no idea of what to do.
It all happened so fast. Twenty-four hours ago she was a wife to a billionaire but now, she is nothing!
Bryan stared at his son who was making fun of him in disbelief. “This doesn't make sense, Brook. Why will you do this to Bryan? Is this because of some dumb heritage?” Tracy asked and Brook shrugged. “I don't know,” he replied and Tracy shook her head at him. Did he really never love Nora? They both killed her and it's not even up to three months yet and they are together. That doesn't make sense. And why the hell is their mother in support of this? “Sorry, Aiden. You won't be the heir anymore.” Lydia teased and Aiden chuckled.“Oh, I don't care. Our mother is a billionaire, you all can have your inheritance.” “The same mother that abandoned you guys?” Bryan asked and Aiden’s lips parted in shock. “Are you trying to get back at me?” Aiden asked and Bryan rolled his eyes at him.“If you are, it didn't work. Doesn't change the fact that you are not the main character anymore.” Aiden laughed and Aria chuckled. Bryan gave her a look. “What? It's funny,” she replied and giggled. “
FOUR YEARS AGOA WEEK LATER “Don’t put too much food in your mouth,” Alessa ordered Aria as she stuffed her mouth with her meal. She giggled in response and Alessa smiled at her. It's been a week since they went out and it's been a week since Alessa has resumed her investigation on who killed Rico. And since she has started, a bounty was placed on her head again and this time, it was increasing faster than the last one.“Mama,” Aiden called and Alessa looked at him.“Yes? What do you need?” she asked and he chuckled in response. Aria looked at him and joined him. “I don't get what is always so funny to you guys.” Alessa scoffed and they both laughed again. Alessa’s phone beeped and she picked it up. “Oh, come on.” she groaned loudly seeing that the bounty on her head was already at thirty million. “I didn't even do anything today,” she whined as she dropped her phone.“What?” Aria asked with a mouthful.“I see you get curious a lot,” Alessa replied and she smiled. Out of the b
Tracy walked into Bryan’s office with the twins trailing behind her. “Take them back to their mother before they murder you in their sleep,” Tracy told Bryan as the twins took a seat on the couch in his office. Bryan glanced at the twins who weren't paying attention to him.“Did you get their dresses already?” he asked Tracy.“Yes. I decided to drop them off here because Aiden looks like he wants to rip me apart. I will take their dresses home, you are welcome.” Tracy replied and walked out of the office. Bryan sighed and looked at the twins.“Have you guys had lunch?” he asked and Aria looked at him. Aiden ignored him as he folded his arms. Aria shook her head at him in response.“What do you want?” he asked and Aria shook her head again then looked away from him. “Pizza? Or ice cream? Or chicken? Or… ““Mummy only gives us ice cream three times a week and we have been taking ice cream every day for a week.” Aria cut him off. “Oh… oh, okay then. Then we will… ““We will just ha
“If you think you will try to scare my kids by telling them about my job then it won't work. They have a few memories of things that I have done.” Alessa said and Bryan smiled as he got closer to her. “Who said anything about that?” he asked and stared at her. Alessa tried to figure out what he was up to but she couldn't think of anything. For him to be this confident then he has something on her. Something that he knows would break her but what the hell is it? Apart from her kids and job, what else can he use against her? Bryan took a step back from her then picked up the remote on the table. He pressed a button and who Alessa least expected came up on the screen. Her eyes widened as she saw who it was. “Oh, the look on your face is priceless right now. You should see it.” Bryan said with a smile as he looked back and forth between Alessa and the screen. “That's not real,” Alessa said and shook her head.“Mum, that’s Phoebe,” Aiden said as they all watched the screen. It was f
FOUR YEARS AGOAlessa smiled at her kids as she gave them the ice cream and took a seat between them on the bench. They were at a park. She decided not to take them to a crowded place to avoid danger. The twins kept looking around and being amazed by anything that passed by. “Mama,” Aria called and tapped Alessa’s shoulder.“Yes, Aria?” Alessa replied. Aria pointed at a bird and Alessa smiled.“It's in our books,” Aiden said and Alessa nodded.“Yes, that’s a bird,” Alessa said.“Bird.” They chorused and stared at it for a few seconds before they paid attention to their ice cream. Alessa’s phone beeped and she pulled it out of her jacket. The timer she set for them was up.“Okay, that’s it. We need to go.” Alessa said as she tucked her phone back in her pocket. Aiden looked at Aria and nodded at her. Aria tapped Alessa again and she turned away from Aiden. “What? Do you need something?” Alessa asked and she giggled as she licked her ice cream. “What? What's funny?” Alessa asked
TWO DAYS LATER Alessa bit her lip as she waited for Damien to answer the call. When the phone was about to stop ringing, he finally picked up the call. “Cara, I am busy right… ““It's urgent, please.” Alessa cut him off and he was quiet for a few seconds.“Okay, what is it?” he asked. Alessa exhaled heavily and started to pace the room but she didn't say anything. “Cara?” he called.“I… I need your help.” she stuttered and Damien waited for her to say something but she didn't.“Okay, what is it?” he asked. “Well… I... I sort of… ““Talk to me, Cara,” he ordered and Alessa ran her hand through her hair.“Bryan took the kids from me and took them somewhere I have no idea of and I have been searching for them but it's all leading to a dead end. I am worried about Aria because she cries a lot when she is scared and she gets sick which I am sure she is already sick by now and Aiden will be sad because of it and I don't know what to do.” She rushed her words and waited nervously for Da
