[EVY’S POINT OF VIEW]

Mrs. Evans was in jail, Nate was gone, and I couldn't be happier, but I couldn't say the same for Seb.

He always had this expression that said he was regretting a lot of things, and I was at a loss for words as to how to console him. I’d tried to but he was always busy with one thing or the other.

While waiting for Seb to descend the stairs, I stood on the last step and stared up at the ceiling. When Seb finally did, he descended with sluggish steps.

“Do I have to?” Standing in front of me, he questioned. “I told you I’m fine, I don’t need to step out. I’ll survive.”

I grinned and took his hand in mine slowly. "I know, but since I've already made reservations, I want to take you out."

He gave me a beseeching look. “Can’t we stay at home?”

"Of course not, I'd like to spend some time with my husband; we haven't gone out since we returned. Please, don’t say no?” My lips created a pout.

He smiled and reached out to pinch my cheeks. "I'll do anything for you, baby."
