Marry Me

“Don’t touch my daughter, she didn’t do anything to you” my father finally broke the silent with a trembling voice, as he struggled to stop the tears that had already started flowing from his eyes. My heart began to throb rapidly, as the boiling sound of anger made its way to my brain causing me to hate with passion the figure that stood opposite me. “Ho, Montenegro, I see you are now very humble" Laughs mockingly “kneel down to me, so that I would consider your request” he said in a command. I was still trying to process everything that was happening, when I saw my mother run towards him and kneel with tears rolling down her cheeks. “Please she is the only child we have got, don’t harm her let her go” she pleaded “Am I the target? Nobody has said anything to me” I knew it was time to act, but then acting in ignorance would only add fuel to the already blazing fire. I needed to think fast and at the same time think smart.

“Montenegro, can you tell this whore to get out of my way? He asked in an aggressive manner pointing to my mother “Look over there, those dollars are yours, use them and get some good cloths because you stink of poverty.” He said pointing to some dollar note littered on the floor.

“What! How dear you speak to my parent in that manner” I bellowed, walking towards him with fierce anger I was done taking the humiliation and insult.

NAT POV.

I intentionally said those words to Mrs. Montenegro in order to annoy Ashely. The place was beginning to get boring as every body just had tears rolling down their eyes except Ashely, who stood opposite me, observing with a scowl on her face. I knew she was going to try to fight me back or create a scene that would give me an avenue to hurt her parent the more. I had decided to go earlier, knowing fully well that I wasn’t there for her, but then stopped at the realization that I could get more entertained seeing her parent break the news to her. The moment I got back to the ward, I sat on an empty chair, with my arms wrapped around my body and my leg crossed waiting for the show to begin. “hum, Impressive. She is really a strong girl” I murmured beneath my breath as I watched Ashley console her mother without breaking down. She threw me stern glares at interval, making me wonder what she had going through her mind. The environment suddenly became tensed as she stood in front of her father with a gloomy look, steams of tears gathered in her eyes, making me wonder if he was already dead. My heart began to beat fast, as fear griped my body. I observed closely trying so hard to control my emotions. “This wasn’t the plan, I just hope he is not dead” I murmured beneath my breath. Hoping he would wake up.

I became more engrossed in my fear when I saw tears roll down Ashley cheeks. “Fuck! How would I survive with the guilt of being the cause of Montenegro’s death?” I bellowed inwardly, still trying to keep a natural expression. Different scary though flooded my mind, making me gasp out for breath. I suddenly jerked up the moment I heard somebody cough. Looked and noticed it was Montenegro. “Thanks goodness” I murmured beneath my breath, adjusted myself and went back to my former mood. I heard Ashely say something to her father with smiles on her face Which suddenly turned into a frown when he spoke. I became interested in what he was saying to her that made her mood suddenly change

“I can lose all I have worked for over the years and still be fine, but not you. Hurry up and take the next available flight to your grandmother’s place before our enemy comes and see you I and your mother would be fine” I heard him say in a murmur. “Enemy, hum” I murmured beneath my breath while letting out a smirk. His statement made me more excited than I was before leaving, “only if he knew I was seated right behind him” I muttered and burst into a loud laughter, making Montenegro jerk up in shock. The shock on his face made me more confident that I was carrying out my plans well. “Don’t touch my daughter, she didn’t do anything to you” he susurrated breaking the silence that lasted for a couple of minute. I watched him in amazement struggling with tears in his eyes. “He really loves his little princes so much, and in order to get to him hard, I would have to touch his daughter” I whispered inwardly My plan was beginning to take a different form And it gave me more joy, Gave out a mischievous smirk the moment an idea clicked. I raised my head up to see Ashely walk ruggedly towards me as though wanting to start a fight. “Who are you? And what do you want from my family?” she questioned in an aggressive tone. I chuckled with my arms wrapped around my body and my gaze fixed on hers “You care to know? I would tell you” I finally said after keeping her on suspense for a while. “I am Nathaniel Bendinego your parent night mare, you must be Ashely? Nice to meet you.” I said and burst into a loud laughter. I looked into her pretty grey eyes that were already bleeding in rage, and wondered what she had going through her mind. Ashely stood at my front this time with her arms wrapped around her body and her face cupped into a frown. “What do you want from us?” she questioned, sounding more arrogant and authoritative. “Okay, here you go spill it out” I whispered inwardly while concealing the happiness that engulfed my entire being. “Revenge!" I said. "I want to rip off the last breath from your father lungs and send your mother to the grave where she belongs, and leave you without a family, just as they did to me. But because of my good and merciful heart, I have decided to help your family and return all the wealth your father has, so that he can get his health back and your mother won’t be homeless as she is right now. But all this would happen on the condition that you marry me.
