The revenge.

I moved out of the way for him to pass, with smiles on my face trying so hard to hide the nervousness that was slowly creping in because of his presence. I watched him closely as he left the door and walked past me, but then stopped and turned back as though he forgot something.

He looked at me with a stern glare and an expression that depict disgust before going to meet my parent. I couldn’t tell why he had that sulky look, but then I could tell that something wasn’t all right. I immediately followed him and ran towards my mother who stood by a Conner of the room with tears rolling down her eyes, and some pieces of dollar note littered on the floor. “Mom, you have to stop crying, and tell me what is going on” I interjected, with a tone of urgency. As my heart throbbed as though wanting to fly out from my chest. I waited for her responds but didn’t get any, stretched out my arm and gave her a warm hug to stop her from crying but that didn’t help, as more tears rolled down her eyes soaking my upper top. I consciously held myself from crying because, one person has to stay strong to take care of the others. I turned my gaze to look at the man, who sat on the chair he wasn’t invited to sit, with his legs crossed and his arm wrapped around his body with an emotionless face. It then dawned on me that my father was on the bed, lying as though lifeless. “O my world. Dam it! this can’t be!” I screamed out, wrapping my arms around her body. “Mom, was there an accident” I questioned as I ran towards my father who had his both eyes shut, and his body hooked at a spot. My heart began to beat faster and my breath started coming in short burst. It seemed as though everything was on stand still, while I slowly observed him. For a minute, I didn’t know what to think, he wasn’t breathing again. “Is he dead” I questioned inwardly, as hut steams of tears gathered in my eyes making everywhere blur. I turned to look at my mother who had her mouth slightly open and her body glued to the wall, with fear hovering around her face, my gaze gradually darted towards the other man, who was still seated at the position without an expression on his face. He immediately looked suspicious to me, and I became determined to give him, his own share of the cake if he had anything to do with my family present state. The environment was so tensed for me to utter any statement. Each time I try to talk, the words just disappears from my mouth into the thin air, making me startled and scared. I looked back at my father, ran my hands through his face, and allowed the tears that forced it way down to flow. Different horrific thought cladded my mind and all I could do at the moment was wish it wasn’t true.

His cough, snapped me off my thought, making me jerk in fear. I looked at him and realized that he was only sleeping and not dead. I immediately released the breath I didn’t know I was holding before.

“Dad, you made me scared, I felt you were dead” I said, letting out a wide smile. As I looked at his surprised face. “Are you okay? Is there any problem” I questioned, with my gaze still fixed on his. I became a little bit worried with the way he looked at me. “Could it be that the stroke is affecting his brain” I whispered, looked at my mother who was already by my side.

“Ashely why are you here?” He finally spoke out after few minute of total silence.

“What?!” I questioned with a frown on my face. I couldn’t understand his reasons for asking me why I was with him in the hospital. “Where else would he want me to be?” I yelled “Ho, it’s possible he thinks my welcome party was still going on” I thought and immediately became calm. “That. It’s over now dad, it went well but you guys weren’t there so I didn’t enjoy myself” I said and looked at my mom who nodded in responds to what I said.

“And after the party, why did you come here?” he questioned still wearing a frown on his face. I looked at my mother who now looked worried, turned my gaze towards the man who still sat in his position with smiles on his face, as though enjoying our conversation. “Ashely” my father called making my gaze fall back at him. “I can lose all I have worked for over the years, and still be fine but not you.’ He said in a shaky voice “Hurry up now and take the available flight to your grandmother’s place, before our enemy comes and sees you. I and your mother would be fine” “our enemy?” I interjected. Okay now, it’s obvious that you guys have thrown me out of the house. What the fuck is happening, who is the enemy?” I questioned with my eyes burning in range. I tilted my gaze gradually to look at the man, who now burst into a loud laughter. “Sniffing dog run!! The enemy is coming. Hurry, hurry! Take the next flight to grand moms place” he spoke in a sarcastic manner. Making my father jerk up in surprise to look at him. The environment suddenly became tensed, as he and my father locked eye together. I stood with my arms wrapped around my body wondering who he called sniffing dog, while my gaze traveled around the room observing their body movements and the different emotions clustered on their faces."what the hell is happening?"
