Adrian's POV

"Perfect." Marcus kept typing. "I'm looking for properties that were sold between five years ago and ten years ago. Properties that might have been bought but not properly transferred or registered."

The screen filled with information—addresses, sale dates, buyer names. Marcus filtered through the results, removing properties that were clearly legal sales with proper paperwork.

"Look at this," he said, pointing to two entries that stood out. "These two properties were sold about four months after Vincent got out. Both sales were handled by the same small real estate company that I've never heard of. And look at who bought them."

I looked closer at the screen. Both properties were bought by "Reeves Holdings LLC."

"Son of a bitch," I said. "He didn't even try to hide his name."

"Why would he?" Jennifer asked. "If these properties aren't in the official system that the security team was using, he probably thought no one would find them."

Marcus clicked on the first property.

  • The Billionaire's Scorned Ex-wife Is Back For Revenge   Chapter 90

Adrian's POVI watched Nichole from the kitchen doorway, holding two cups of tea that had gone cold while I listened to her phone conversation. Her hands were shaking as she stared at her phone, and I could see her trying to pull herself together before I came back into the room. She was putting on a brave front, the way she always did when something bothered her more than she wanted to admit. But I could see right through it. The way her jaw was clenched, the way she was gripping her phone a little too tightly, the way her breathing was still uneven.Blake's call had gotten to her more than she wanted to let on.I set the tea cups down and sat beside her, close enough to offer comfort but not so close that she would feel crowded. I had learned to read Nichole's moods pretty well over the past few months, and right now she needed space to think but also needed to know I was there."That was Blake, wasn't it?" I asked gently. She nodded, and I felt anger rise in my chest. How dare he c

Nichole's POV"Stop," I said firmly. "Just stop. You don't get to say that to me now. You don't get to claim you loved me after you spent months lying to my face.""But it's true," Blake insisted. "By the time I realized what was happening, I was in too deep with Lydia's plan. I didn't know how to get out of it without—""Without what?" I interrupted. "Without disappointing your real girlfriend? Without giving up on your precious plan to destroy me?""Without losing everything I thought I wanted," Blake said quietly. His honesty surprised me, but it also made me angrier."So you chose everything you thought you wanted over the woman you claim to have fallen in love with," I said. "That tells me exactly how much your 'real feelings' were worth.""You're right," Blake said. "I made the wrong choice. I chose wrong every single time. And I've regretted it every day since.""Are you apologizing because you mean it," I asked, "or because your conscience finally caught up with you? Because t

Nichole's POVI was sitting in my living room, finally back home from the hospital. The doctors had cleared me to leave this morning, but I still felt weak. My ribs ached when I moved too quickly, and there was a constant headache that the pain medication barely touched.Adrian was in the kitchen making tea, insisting I needed to stay hydrated. He had barely left my side since the rescue, sleeping on my couch because he was worried Vincent might come back. I kept telling him Vincent was probably halfway across the country by now, but Adrian wouldn't listen.I had a book open in my lap, but I hadn't read a single page. My mind kept drifting back to yesterday at the hospital. The way Blake had looked at me. The things I had screamed at him. Part of me felt satisfied that I had finally told him exactly how I felt, but another part of me felt drained from reliving all that pain. The bruises on my face were starting to fade, but I could still feel Vincent's hands around my throat when I th

Blake's POVThe door slammed so hard behind Lydia that the windows in my office shook. I stood there for a long moment, staring at the closed door, listening to the sound of her heels clicking angrily down the hallway.I walked back to my desk and sat down heavily in my chair. My hands were shaking, and I couldn't tell if it was from anger or something else. Fear, maybe. Or guilt.Lydia's words kept echoing in my head. "We won!" she had screamed at me. "We got everything we wanted!"But had we really won? Looking around my office, at the expensive furniture and the view of the city, I should have felt successful. Proud. Happy.Instead, all I felt was empty. There was a knock on my door, and my assistant poked her head in."Mr. Blake? Your 2 PM meeting is here. The investors from Chicago?"I looked at my watch. It was already 2:15. I had completely lost track of time."Send them in," I said, trying to pull myself together.Three men in expensive suits walked into my office, all smiles

Lydia's POVThe flight back felt like the longest few hours of my life. I kept reading and rereading that text message, getting angrier every time. How dare Blake go see her without telling me? How dare he visit the woman whose life we had destroyed together? Did he feel guilty? Did he miss her? Was he having second thoughts about what we had done?By the time I landed, I was furious. I went straight from the airport to Blake's office building. I didn't care that I looked like I had just gotten off a plane. I didn't care that I was still wearing yesterday's makeup and clothes. I needed to confront him right now.I stormed into his office building, past the receptionist who tried to tell me he was in a meeting. I didn't care. I marched straight to his office and threw open the door.Blake was sitting at his desk, looking at some papers. He looked up when I barged in, and I could see the guilt written all over his face."Lydia?" he said, standing up quickly. "What are you doing here? I

Lydia's POVI stood in front of the mirror in my Milan hotel room, admiring how the designer dress hugged my body perfectly. Tomorrow's shoot was for Versace, one of the biggest names in fashion, and I was the face of their new campaign.Life was absolutely perfect.I had just finished a shoot in Paris last week, and before that, I was in London for a magazine cover. My agent couldn't keep up with all the offers coming in. Everyone wanted Lydia Carson. Everyone wanted me.I picked up my phone and scrolled through the latest fashion magazine rankings. There it was, in black and white - Lydia Carson had climbed to number five on the list of most popular models in the world. Number five! Just two years ago, I was struggling to get small local campaigns, and now I was competing with supermodels who had been in the business for decades. The best part? Nichole Valmont was nowhere on that list anymore.I smiled as I remembered how jealous I used to be of her success. She had gotten all the b
