Where was Ava?

It wasn't until Amelia was seated in the backseat of the car, right next to Hunter that she thought about her sister, Ava.

Where was she?

The last thing she remembered was when Ava urged her to take more shots of whiskey, and that was it.

Why didn't Ava look out for her when she got drunk? She wondered.

"Are you ready to confess now?" Hunter said, breaking the silence in the car.

She looked up at him, confused. "What confession?"

"It's not too late to tell me the truth, Miss" Hunter said, placing his phone face down on his thighs, "What is your real name, who set you up with me, and how can I find the people who sent you."

"I have told you already. I don't know what to make of everything that has happened!"

"How did you get into my room, then?"

"It was my sister's birthday at the hotel...I got a little too drunk, and boom, I woke up in bed to you."

Hunter let out a dry chuckle, "You should consider a career as a standup comedian. The only setback is that you tell dry jokes."

She narrowed her gaze at him, pissed off. "What was that stunt you threw out there? Your fiancée?" She asked.

"What would you have me do, then? Tell the world that we had sex without any memory of how it all started? Hell, no!"

Amelia sighed. "I want to get off."

"Now? No! I'm taking you as far away from the hotel as possible. I don't want those news hungry journalists to track us down and bombard you with questions again"

"Let me out of this car!" She said in a slightly raised voice.

Her patience was already stretching on a thin line, and she was so sure that she would have a mental breakdown if she spent anymore second in Hunter Chase's presence.

"No, Amelia Chase. I'll drop you off at the next bus-stop."

"I want to get off, now!" She insisted, slamming her palm against the door.

"Okay, Okay!" Hunter growled, as he tapped the driver's seat.

The car came to a screeching halt and the doors were unlocked.

"No matter what, Do not dare to tell the media anything else about what I said earlier. Lay low, stay out of attention, and—" Hunter was still talking when Amelia flung the car door open and jumped out.

"You don't have to worry about me, Mr Hunter Chase! I'll stay away from you and the public. Just leave me alone" She snarled, shutting the door in his face before walking away.

Hunter sat in his car, stunned as he watched the lady scurry down the road. He was supposed to feel relieved now that she was finally gone, yet worry tugged at him.

What if she went out there and blew everything up?

He leaned back on the seat and exhaled before telling the driver to speed away.

Amelia had never been so confused in her life as this moment.

She was stuck between going home to her father and going to her boyfriend's apartment.

Her father was definitely disappointed in her. He had always wanted her to get married to Henry, the son of his best friend. How would she explain that she didn't knowingly cheat on her boyfriend?

It was all a...mistake.

Or was it?

Was it a mistake that her unplanned and drunk sex with the billionaire CEO had been leaked on the internet?

She doubted that.

The only thing that she could hope on was that Henry would believe her honesty. Maybe, Henry would see that she would never kiss another man besides him, while being sober.

Without thinking, she flagged down a cab and got in.

Her next plan?

To meet Henry and tell him everything she knew. If Henry believed her, then every other thing would fall into place, she reasoned. Soon, she arrived at Henry's apartment, threw some wads of cash at the cab driver before she got out of the car, and ran all the way to the Henry's doorstep.

By the time she arrived at the door, she was already panting. She was about to knock on the door when she noticed that it was slightly open.

That was strange. Henry was the most security conscious person she knew and he would never leave the door unlocked.

She let out a heavy sigh, trying to steady herself for the outcome of her visit to Henry.

"I hope you forgive me, Babe" She muttered underneath her breath as she gave the door a hard push, and slipped into the apartment.

Her mouth dropped open as soon as she saw Henry sprawled out on the couch with a woman.

Amelia blinked at the other woman.

It was Ava, her only sister.

They were both sweaty and Ava's upper body was bare as she straddled Henry.

"What the hell?" Amelia exclaimed, before she could get a hold of herself.

Ava whipped her head back and her eyes met Amelia's. Then, her lips curved into a smile.

There was a stunned expression on Henry's face, then it changed into anger.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

Amelia grabbed the door knob and held on to it. She was giddy. Her knees became weak and she felt as though she would fall to the floor.

"Henry. We've been together for three years, and you're out here having sex with my sister?" She asked with a shaky voice.

Henry sat up on the couch, gently lifting Ava up from his body.

He rose to his feet and put on his trousers, not taking his eyes away from Amelia.

"You've got so much guts to come back here and question what I am doing with Ava" He scowled.

"She's my sister!"

"You fucked that billionaire, Hunter, and your nudes are out there on the internet. What do we call that?"

Amelia's breath caught in her throat, "I can explain!"

"No need for that. Your new man already announced to the world that you are his Fiancee! What exactly are you still doing here?"

Amelia stared at him, numb.

Her sister was now running her hands across his chest. There was a malicious glint in her eyes.

"Get out of my house, you whore!" Henry grunted.

Tears welled up in Amelia's eyes as she walked out of the apartment, and stumbled down the street. Tears blurred her vision.

Her phone rang out, causing her to jump. She struggled to pull it out of her pocket, and when she did, it was an unknown number calling.

She swiped her finger across the screen, halfheartedly.

"Hey. We need to plan our wedding. Things are getting out of hand." A familiar male voice said with a cold tone.

"Hunter?"

"Who else would it be? Text your location to me, right now. I'm coming to pick you up." He said, hanging up the call.

Amelia's car was in the front, and another slowly trailed behind her. She had gotten used to it already, the single act that always drew much attention to her anywhere she went. Her beep pulled her attention, and she took it to realize it was for Damon. He had sent her a confirmatory letter, accepting her resignation letter with some reimbursement. She threw the phone down, facing her thighs.“Can you drive down the hallway instead of driving home straight?” She questioned her driver who followed her instructions without responding.Amelia, instead of declaring her location to the man driving, chose to direct him. She felt it was safer as she couldn't think of herself, and everything about her didn't feel safe anymore. The same place where she had first encountered Sam was displayed in her view. She let out a breath while slowly descending from her car before approaching the door. Her hand stood frozen on the doorknob, the voices she heard seemed too familiar, and she couldn't mistake

Her baseball cap hides almost all her face, leaving her long hair hanging down her back like a dark waterfall, exuding her beauty.Every one of her strides reverberates her intention; she hid her face when she came across the CCTV camera while her hand was tucked in her jacket pocket.Desperation clawed at her; this was the only way to mend her broken trust of her brother in her. “Just a strand, Sam…..a strand!” Hunter said through his gnashed teeth. He stood pacing the room while Damon worked on his laptop to access Hunter's safeguard camera but he was shocked to realize it had been disconnected from within.“Oh, no… stop using that method!” Sam waved off their intention, it was as if he could see and read his movement from there.Hunter was still seething in anger giving him difficulties to think properly. He had rushed out to the bar not thinking about her security. He chose to today, of all day to dismiss most of his maids because he wanted to be with her alone, he wanted to have that moment with her, he had even abandoned and turned down his sister's request when she urged to see him but out of his foolishness, he had let his emotions get the best of him.He tried to heave a slow breath, not to give Sam the reaction he wanted.Damon had continued sending a code to any of their minions nearby, since those available might have been drugged, it wasn't said,

“What took you so long?” Hunter sneered. He was patiently waiting for her to come back but when he saw Sam's expression revealing too much ease, he knew he was about to pull a string. This event was basically dedicated to him, and could also be the greatest weapon against him. Lucy hadn't been turning up too much, after the incident with Amelia, she had been staying low and Hunter was surprised when he couldn't see her around.Damon had been busy networking, which looked normal; we are in a business world. Hunter had thought.Damon's eyes flew to the cause of the scene unfolding some distance away.“I am fine, I just needed some time!” Amelia trailed, her voice laced with fatigue.“Do you want to go home?
