Condescending Much?

"What the hell?! You want me to get married to you in two days?!" Amelia exclaimed in shock, trying to pick up her jaws from the floor yet failing woefully.

"It will do you good to keep calm. I am only making this offer because right now you do not have a life and I'm the only one who can help you, so I think in this case you should be happy that I'm trying to do this." Hunter answered dismissively.

Amelia threw her head back, erupting in laughter as she smacked her knees, enjoying the circus going on in front of her.

"You are the comedian of the century! You should try your hands at comedy in case your business doesn't work. How on Earth do you think that it is possible for me to do that?! Are you freaking kidding me right now?!"

Hunter waited for her to be done with her theatrics before they could discuss like sensible people.

"Are you done?" He inquired, while she kept on looking at him as though he was mad.

That was the only explanation she had for someone who thought that he could damage her life.

"I would have been angry with you."  She muttered, as she tried to figure out what this man thought of her. Clearly not much for him to bring up such a suggestion without thinking twice.

"So the contract has been drawn, and I have just been waiting for you to arrive and sign your part. It's going to take some time before the lawyer arrives." Hunter said with finality in his tone, leaving her shell shocked.

Just when she thought she had seen it all, now she was saddled with watching another person who wanted to ruin her life without even thinking twice.

How did all these men come up with this idea that they were the most important and women didn't have a say?

"Since you have already drafted everything, why don't you go ahead and sign it? Because I sure as hell am not doing that. I don't know you, first you came up with the script of being your fiancee, which I went along with and now you want to make my life miserable on the altar of being married to you? How pathetic can you be!"

Hunter kissed his teeth in anger, holding his breath so that he didn't do something stupid.

"I understand your disposition and I'm trying to be calm but listen, you do not have a choice. Do you think that anybody is going to employ you with your nudes splashed all over the internet? Or do you fantasize that any man would consider you worthy of being his wife? After realizing that you have been damaged?"

The reality of those words struck her like a blow to the gut and she doubled back in anger.

"I didn't think so. Now you have to listen to me because this is going to benefit you greatly."

"I don't know who you think you are but..."

"Miss Ross. Why don't you sit and stop worrying your pretty head over something that doesn't matter? You don't need to prove to be bold in my presence? I don't really care about any of those things, right?"

The insult was too much for her to endure and she began to think of ways to make him pay, but came up with nothing.

It would be stupid to fight against a billionaire when she was homeless.

Taking a seat, she watched him, with folded arms across her chest, "well what? Are you trying to prove to someone that you can be committed to a woman? I don't think that you and I are compatible."

Hunter let out a groan, wondering how daft this woman could be. "Do not mistake this marriage of convenience for love? You are not in the category of women that I date, talk more of being my wife. You have nothing to your name. And this is a fact. However, I have this business deal that I need to clinch, and that is where you come in."

Amelia's face grew red at the insult which was just exactly how things were with her at the moment.

"I am not a jobless fellow."

"Still not suitable to be my wife." His rude tone cut through her immediately

"If it was that easy for you to get a wife, why are you hellbent on bringing me in to save your failing business?" She demanded from him.

Hunter paused, yet refusing to say a word. This was absolutely a mess that he was willing to clear up no matter what.

"This deal is going to bring me billions of dollars. Something that you have never had access to except by the function of this deal... And that is if you see it through."

Amelia wanted to retort but figured out that during this was probably not going to do her any good. Firstly, she had absolutely nothing to her name and she deserved a fresh start.

"How much are we talking about?"

"I'm talking a billion. See this as my donation to charity."

Amelia's face colored in anger again as he continued to talk down on her as though she was nothing. Even if she didn't have a stitch in the world, it wasn't the license for this man to make such remarks about her.

She wasn't daft.

Rising to her feet, with her pride intact, she pointed at his face. "I don't care how much you think is enough to buy a person over, but I'm not one of those girls, and the earlier you understand that, the better for all of us. You can perish with your money." She announced in a calm tone before walking away.

"Damn, such a stubborn woman." He muttered under his breath, punching the table.

He picked up his phone and reached out to one person he should have called before even making the decision.

Lily.

"I'm getting married in two days."

Ring! Ring!! Ring!!!The loud blaring of the phone startled Amelia, making her roll over on the bed. "Oh Shit!" She muttered. Who the hell was calling her? She didn't care. All she wanted was some sleep, at least. She felt like such a mess, and didn't want to answer any damn phone call. Her head throbbed so badly that she thought it would fall off her neck. She pressed her face into the soft pillow, forcing herself to return to sleep again. Immediately, the phone rang out again, pissing her off. Without raising her face, she stretched out her hand, with her eyes closed, and dropped it on the bed. The ringing of the phone seemed to grow louder, making her more irritated. She started to grope around on the bed for her phone, which she usually had beside her every night. It didn't take her long before she realized that her hand was not touching the bed, rather it tugged at a muscled arm. "Wait, what?" A thought came to her mind as she froze. She was touching an arm, and that was,

That was the exact question she wanted to ask him. But...hold on!He seemed quite familiar, as though she had met him before. No, she could swear that she had met him somewhere, before now. There was definitely something about this man who stood by the open door, glaring at her. His messy black hair, thick eyebrows, well lined beard and husky voice were not common amongst the men she knew. "You owe me an explanation!"
