IRIS

We arrived at the restaurant and, as usual, Les was the one to open the car door for me. I got out feeling like a princess and even more on an ego boost when Les took my hand in front of his lady admirers and proceeded to walk in along with our bodyguards.

I felt like blushing, and I think I did, when I felt the heated gaze of his admirers on us. Even questions like, “Who’s she?” floated to my ears, but I couldn’t care less because I was Les’ girl tonight!

Jeez! I better get a hold of yourself. Les is just a human being like me. I need to stop freaking out!

The moment we entered the lobby, I saw a lot of people gathered with disappointed faces and disgruntled looks, but I couldn’t tell why they seemed unhappy. Paying close attention, I heard one of them murmur that the rooftop restaurant was closed.

Disappointment set in because that's where I had initially planned to have my date with Les, and I was about to tell him that when a smartly dressed female in uniform approached us w
