-Vincent-

I was so busy moving back to my place and catching up with the updates on my business that I had to miss my afternoon date with her. Luckily Natalie hadn’t given birth yet but she was near.

Evelyn told me that she and her new circle of friends are hanging out after school. I was not happy not to spend time with her, but I was glad that she finally found people who had her back. I might say that Brie is okay. What worries me is that girl who was always angry. I always forget her name.

“It’s nice to have you back,” Natalie said, “Don’t forget my additional pay and bonus for the stress you have left to me, not to mention, my baby. It’s a wonder I still haven’t given birth.”

“I never mean to be out and you know it,” I said softly. That’s how competent Natalie is. She was able to keep the business running smoothly along with Carl in my absence.

A sigh escaped her lips before she went into full business mode as she gave me a rundown of all the updates from the company since my g

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 122 - Phase 2

-Vincent-I haven’t heard from Evelyn since she left, but Tony has been continuously updating me about her location through the tracker. I feel a bit at ease. “Is everything set?” I asked the doctor who took care of Evelyn and her grandmother. “Yes, Mr. Beckett,” he replied, “I have already spoken to our staff and they all know what to do.” “Are you sure that none of them would give us a hard time?” “Yes, sir, none of them would,” the doctor replied, “All of them were handpicked by your grandmother, and they even signed a non-disclosure agreement to make sure that all our VIPs are assured that none of what happens would be exposed to anyone.” One of the reasons why our hospital is well known is because of the way our VIP protects their guests. But this is Samantha, she is not like any ordinary person. She will try everything just to get whatever it was that she wants. “Where should we begin?” I asked. Even though a part of me already has an idea of what our next move would be.

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 121 - Timeline

-Eve-Vincent didn’t call or text me, just like we had discussed. I also know that he would be busy at this time because he would now begin the second phase of our plan. I know that they are now preparing to announce my and Nana’s deaths. “Vincent seems to be a nice guy,” Nana said, out of the blue, as we continued our journey to her parents’ hometown.“He is a nice guy, Nana,” I replied. “Oh, I know,” she said, smiling. “I just want you to admit it.”I sigh, realizing what Nana was doing.“Nana, your safety is my priority.” I know I have explained everything to her already. Five times, to be exact. Each time, she told me that she understood everything very clearly, and yet every time that she gets the opportunity to remind me what a great guy Vincent was, she takes it. I love Vincent, I don’t doubt what I feel because whatever it was that I feel is real. There is nothing fake about what Vincent and I had, despite starting as a fake couple. And with the time that we both spent to

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 120 - Plan

-Vincent-Evelyn left while I was asleep. I was so tired the day before that I slept heavily. I hate not knowing where she went or who she was with, because it felt like she was running away from me. I know that we have discussed this part and her reasons why she didn’t want anybody else to know where Nana would stay. Ever since the bombing, a part of me has felt that Evelyn has changed. She might not say it out loud, but I could feel it. She might be smiling at me, but I have this scary feeling that there is something going on behind the smile and reassurance that she always gives me. It feels like something is brewing, and I am so scared to know what type of storm will arrive. I just hope that when it does arrive, I am ready for it. I know I promised her that I would not ask her anymore, but I didn’t promise that I wouldn’t look. She is my priority, the most important person in my life. She is even more important than my grandmother right now. “Did you find her?” I asked Tony

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 119 - Decision

-Eve-I know that I couldn’t do what I have planned on my own. I may have some money, but I am not that rich yet. I don’t have the right connections to make sure that no one would be able to see us, let alone recognize who the hell we are. And the only person I know who has both the money and power, other than Brie, is Alyana. After the conversation that I had with my grandmother, we were able to agree on a place where no one would be able to recognize us. It was a place that was so far from the city with almost no internet. A place where your next neighbor might have to be as far as a five-minute drive from your car. It could be the most dangerous place a person could be at (well, at least based on the movies I usually see), but it could also be the safest since it was pretty isolated and no one we know would be able to think that we would move to such a place. It was also a good thing that Nana decided not to sell the place. It was a gift from her mother when she got married bef

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 118 - Confessions

-Eve-Vincent left us to take care of our release papers. He needs to change our names and talk to the doctor who checked on us to make sure that everything goes according to plan. “There’s something you aren’t telling Vincent,” Nana said as I helped her change into her own clothes. “What do you mean?” I asked, pretending that her question didn’t surprise me. “Oh, my dear, the person who could fool me hasn’t been born yet,” Nana said with a wink as she smiled at me. “I am not hiding anything, Nana,” I pretend to be busy so that she would stop asking me any more questions, but she continued to press the topic as if it were the only thing that mattered. “If you couldn’t tell it to Vincent, shouldn’t you tell it to your grandmother, who would always have your back no matter what? Especially if it involves your safety.” I looked at my grandmother who’s teasing smile had already disappeared and turned into her serious look. I know that she wouldn’t let this go. Even if Vincent arrive

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 117 - Phase One

-Eve-Ever since I told Vincent that none of his friends, including him, would be assisting me in bringing my Nana to a safe place, he had become so insistent and irritable. “Baby,” Vincent said as one of the doctors checked me for the last time before he finally let me go. “You’re all good, but you have to make sure to take all the prescriptions that I have given you, okay?” The doctor said, interrupting whatever it was that Vincent had to say. I watched as Vincent sat beside me in silence, but I could feel his blazing anger beneath his silent facade. “Baby,” Vincent started once again, just as the door of my room closed. “I said it was okay to go with your plan, because I want to know every part of it to make sure that nothing bad happens to you. But if you’re going to travel with someone else, and bring Nana there on your own. It’s not a safe thing to do.” I understand where he is coming from. And it was not like I don’t trust Vincent, but something tells me that I should do th

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 116 - The Plan

-Eve-I hate to tell Vincent that only he has the power to lure Samantha. As much as I hate to put him on the front lines, he was the best choice. No, let me correct that. He was the only choice. “But even though you could be the one who could lure her, and we know that she likes you so much. We should still consider what she is capable of doing,” I said, wanting them to see and understand the type of person that we are dealing with. “Because we still have to remember that she is still a very dangerous person.” “That’s true,” Tony chimed in. “Seeing the kind of bomb that she had set up made me think that she isn’t working alone. I have a feeling that she had sought professional assistance because the items used for the homemade bomb, as well as how it was set up, weren’t done by an amateur. The kind of knowledge that someone wouldn’t be able to have access to while watching online or by searching the web. It was done by someone who had experience creating one.” “That’s the same th

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 115 - Me

-Vincent-It took a while for Evelyn to finally fall asleep. And once she did, Garrett, Emmet, and Tony came into the the living room of Evelyn’s VIP suite. “Any news?” I asked, as if I didn’t know the answer to my own question. “She is good,” was Tony’s reply. It might sound like praise, but it wasn’t. Out of all the things Tony hated, getting his way is right at the top. He hates that all the plans that he recently created were not working to our benefit at this time. And I am not adding any pressure by asking him why his plans aren’t working when I couldn’t think of anything that could get us out of the situation that we were currently in. “But don’t worry, I will be better,” Tony promises. I nodded, knowing that he would do the exact thing just to ensure that the end product of all the things that we are doing right now would have Samantha behind bars.My grandmother, on the other hand, took me by surprise. I didn’t know that she had it in her to turn against business partne

  • The Billionaire's Secret   Chapter 114 - What Happened Next

-Eve-Worried voices surrounded me. Some of them I recognized so well. While some of them I don’t. “What do you mean by nothing is wrong with her?” Vincent’s angry voice was the first voice that became clear to me. I know that voice like the back of my hand. “She’s not yet opening her eyes.” I wanted to move and tell him that I was okay. That there was nothing wrong with me. But it felt like my whole body was numb, and no matter how much I moved my body, nothing happened. It was like I was frozen. “She might be tired,” an unfamiliar voice explained. There was a hint of irritation in his voice, but he was still calm. “Are you sure?” Vincent continued to nag that I was feeling embarrassed by the way he spoke to whoever it was he was talking to. I wanted to move and speak just to make him stop, but I couldn’t. It felt like I was trapped in my own mind and my own body. Nothing seemed to be working for me. And I couldn’t even remember why the hell I was in this situation.I tried to
