Ethan's POV

Her words left me speechless. I didn't know what to say. Why was she telling me all of this? Was she trying to make me feel better? Or was she just trying to clear her conscience?

"Why are you telling me all of this?" I managed to ask. "Are you feeling sorry for me or something?"

"I just felt like the way I left you wasn't right," she said. "And I know you saw the message I sent by mistake. I'm really sorry about that."

Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. I was a jumble of emotions - anger, sadness, betrayal.

I didn't know what to say.
