I coughed, grasping my throat, trying to breathe. My vision was blurry, my head felt light and overall I felt like I was close to passing out. My body quivered and my knees shook and I found myself falling towards the ground again.
Until strong arms caught me.
I had just left Adam not quite long. He had dropped by quickly to see me and I had wanted to show him some of my paintings. Things had been a bit awkward at first because I couldn't stop thinking about his promises to get me away from Tom. But all he had to do was give me a hug and my worries melted away.
