Mia's POV

My plan was about to get ruined by Allen. He wasn't supposed to stare at Sophie like that. Like he missed her, like he wanted to be with her instead of me, like he wished she hadn't cheated on, or maybe it was just my imagination.

"Hi, Allen." Sophie said in a gentle voice as she stood up and reached out to hug him.

I frowned and moved between them, facing Allen. I placed my hands on his chest so I could gain his attention. And when he was finally looking at me, I smiled and hugged him.

"I didn't want to distract you while talking to your business associates so I came here to get something to drink." I told him while I rested my head on his chest, listening to the wild beating of his heart.

When I saw that he didn't play along or make any move to hug me back, I looked up and saw him already staring at Sophie again. I pushed myself away from him in frustration and grabbed my purse.

"When you are done staring at her, I'll be in the car waiting for you." I said in an irritated
