I blinked wondering if I had heard him,correctly.

“Did you just say…?”

“Yeah,I said you should come to Venice with me.”

“But aren’t you going there for business?I would hate to distract…”

“You’re not going to be a distraction.You’ve been really distressed this past week and…and you could think of this as a vacation.I’m not going to be working all the time and I could…I could take you sightseeing and stuff.”

I bit my lower lip because this felt so exciting.I’ve never left the country before.

But I can’t possibly go to Venice with him alone.

That is far from putting a distance between us.

I should say no.

I should say I’m not interested.

I should say we need this two weeks apart so we can forget about our feelings for each other.

But a bigger part of me didn’t want that.

I just can’t bear to be away from him for two weeks.
