May POV

He glanced at me, the weight of the last few months etched into his features. “For being patient with him. For staying when you could have left. For… being you.”

I shifted, uncomfortable. Praise always felt foreign—especially from him.

“I didn’t do anything magical,” I said quietly. “He just needed time.”

He smiled faintly. “Sometimes the right person is the magic.”

My heart stuttered, and for the briefest second, I wanted to believe he meant it more than he was letting on. That this wasn’t just a passing moment of gratitude but a door opening.

But then he looked away, hands stuffed in his pockets, and the moment passed.

We walked out to the patio, drawn by the mild night breeze. The stars were out, sharp and glowing like someone had poked holes into the night to let heaven leak through. The garden was quiet, save for the low hum of cicadas.

I took a seat on the stone bench near the roses. John sat across from me at the iron table, watching the sky like it had answers.

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   Wounds!

May POVIt’s strange how quickly silence can become a kind of noise. In the days after everything collapsed, the quiet in my hotel room felt like punishment. No Saint running through the hallways. No morning toast crumbs. Just me, the buzz of my phone vibrating across the table, and headlines that painted me into something I wasn’t.The tape had done its job. The world had decided.May Hemlings: homewrecker, liar, opportunist. The woman who “tricked” a billionaire into bed and stayed close to his son to get a second chance.I didn’t even know where the footage came from. I couldn’t remember that night—just fragments. The taste of something sweet, a dizzy spell, a blackout. And then waking up sore and confused the next morning in a hotel room, alone. No answers. Just a headache and an invoice. But it didn’t matter. Not to the board. Not to the press. Not even, apparently, to John. The door to that world had been slammed shut. Literally.I replayed the moment the guards escorted me out

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   Collateral Damage

MayMeanwhile in the Bells Mansion; They didn’t even look me in the eye.Two men in pressed black suits stood at the bottom of the stairs, stiff like statues, waiting for me to follow. One of them cleared his throat.“Miss Hemlings, the car is ready.”I didn’t ask where I was going. That wasn’t the point, was it? They weren’t trying to relocate me. They were trying to erase me.Everything felt foggy. Not the dramatic kind you read about in books—just this numb, heavy awareness that your life was splitting in two and there was nothing you could do to stop it.I took one step. Then another. My shoes didn’t make a sound on the polished floor. I’d packed my things into a bag that felt too small for everything I’d built here. And yet, somehow, it still felt like too much.No one said goodbye. Not the housekeepers. Not the chefs who used to sneak me extra pastries. Not even the driver who always called me “Nanny” and offered me gum on long rides.I guess when you’re the scandal, people forg

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   The Wolves In Boardroom

May POVMEANWHILE, the board of directors summoned a meeting.John’s hands were clasped too tightly on the polished edge of the boardroom table.Every screen on the wall was frozen on the same headline:Billionaire Caught on Camera – Is May Hemlings More Than Just a Nanny?Below it, blurred screenshots of a dimly lit hotel room. His silhouette. Her back. Skin. Sheets. Shadows. It was a damned witch hunt.“Gentlemen,” he started, voice sharp, “this was a leak—an invasion of privacy. What happened in that room was months ago and—”“—And the public doesn’t care, John,” cut in Marlowe, his Chief Risk Officer. “They see a scandal. Our stocks dropped 6% this morning. The Asia markets opened lower, and by mid-day, we’re looking at another dip.”A low murmur rippled through the room like a tide of dissent. He straightened in his chair, jaw locked. “I didn’t know May when that happened. We were strangers.”“That’s worse,” muttered Soraya Zhang, his Head of Strategic Comms. “A nanny with a sex

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   I Remember in Bits!

May POVI throw up again. The second time since that damned video surfaced.I grip the edges of the bathroom sink like it’s the only thing keeping me upright. My knees shake. My reflection—God. I don’t even recognize her. Skin pale. Lips cracked. Hair knotted. Eyes wide with something that doesn’t have a name.Shame?Fear?Fury? All three. And then some.Outside, I hear him. Low footsteps. Then silence. Then the video playing again. I know the beat of it now, every distorted second. The way my head tilts. The way his hand slides down my spine. The laugh that isn’t quite mine. The gasp that could be.Me. Him.Caught. Claimed. Collapsed into a scandal we can’t even remember being part of.I splash cold water on my face and step out.He doesn’t look up. He’s sitting on the armchair, elbows on his knees, phone in hand. Watching the tape again. But the sound’s off this time. The room’s quiet. Unbearably quiet.“Was this you?” he asks, not even turning his head. The words land like a slap.

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   After the Dust

I haven’t slept. Not really. Not since the symbol showed up. Not since I found the mirror carved like a warning in Lena’s old room, not since the letter slid under the door like a whisper. You’ve seen enough. Walk away, May. Or disappear like her. That line keeps looping through my head. Even now. Even as Saint breathes softly beside me, thumb curled near his cheek, body curled close like he knows something I don’t. And maybe he does. John’s on the other side of the bed. Silent. Awake. I can tell by the way the light from his phone screen flares and dims every few minutes. He doesn’t scroll. Just stares. Like he’s waiting for something to crash through the silence. We’re in the same room now—for safety, not comfort. That’s what he said. But it feels like something else. Like some thread neither of us wants to name is pulling taut between us. He hasn’t brought up the flash drive again. I haven’t told him it was stolen. We’re both holding things back. Trying not to look directl

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   The Vanishing

May’s POVJohn hadn’t said another word after his confession—“What if I ignored her into an early grave?”Just sat on the edge of the bed, head in his hands, his silence louder than any scream.I wanted to reach for him. To close the gap between us. But grief made him untouchable, like something still burning. So instead, I left the room without saying goodbye.Maybe I should have.Because the next morning, everything changed.I took Saint out for the day. A quiet park tucked behind old trees, away from cameras and staff whispers. He ran with the other children, but he kept glancing over his shoulder. Watching me. Like he expected me to disappear. We returned just before sunset. The mansion loomed ahead, its windows glowing faintly gold in the fading light. But something was off the moment I turned the key in the door.Silence.No security. No staff chatter. No hum from the walls.Saint pressed against my side. “It feels cold,” he said.I brushed his hair gently. “Go upstairs, okay? L
