Rain roused up early and prepared all the necessary things for her and her children. She took care of them right after cooking their breakfast. Taking them to bathe and helping them change their clothes.
"Alas, finish your food, alright? You'll be spending 5 hours in school so better fill your tummy with enough food." She reminded her other son as she took care of her daughter, Amy."I know, mommy." Alas lazily agreed."Wasting the graces will be punished by god, mommy, right?" Duke said. Alas glared his brother."I'm eating it all, Duke. Can't you see?" He seems annoyed."You're eating, but you're displacing the veges." Duke bashed back. Alas face dishevelled."You're annoying, tsk." Alas commented."Enough, boys. We are in front of the food." Rain lectured his boys. "And you, baby Alas, you are not allowed to leave the table if you're not eating the veges. Do you understand?"With a heavy sigh and a heavy shoulders, Alas nodded in silence. "Okay, mommy."Rain smiled at her son and genuinely patted his head. "Don't feel bad to your brother. He's just care about you as veges give your body good nutrients it needs.""But he was teasing me, mommy."Rain took a glimpse of his other son and saw Duke giggling. "Duke, say sorry to your brother.""But I didn't do wrong, momma." Duke complained.Rain just sighed, "You made him feel badly. You should apologize, baby."Duke sighs guiltily and regretfully. With heavy shoulders and a heavy heart, he apologized. "Sorry, big brother. I won't tease you next time."Rain found peace between her children. They might be naughty at times, but they're not as bad to each other, especially when apologizing."Great! Finish your foods quick, or you'll be late in school."---Before going to her work, she escorted her children to school and left a few reminders and instructions to the teacher."Good morning, Rain." Aiden greeted as they coincidentally bumped into each other in front of the elevator."Good morning, Aiden. Are you usually coming to work early?" She greeted and somehow asked."Nah, actually not.""Oh? Might be one of your achievements for coming here early, congrats!" She teased. Aiden chuckled with her."Maybe? Thanks to you." Aiden simply commented as he entered the elevator ahead her.She was surprised, somehow confused. "Me?" She points herself. "Why does it relate to me? I didn't do anything." She shrugged and got inside the elevator."Yes, you. My inner soul wants me to see you."Rain coughed. "I'm married, Aiden." She opposed with a giggle."I know. I was just kidding." They were laughing when the closing of the elevator was interrupted."Good morning, Sir." Rain was quick to get over her laughter and greeted the boss. As usual, the boss looked deadly serious. As if he's displeased every day."Good morning." Uriel the Boss greeted back."Brother, you're unusually early today, huh?" Aiden pardoned his brother in a witty manner. Uriel glared at his younger brother, but Aiden just shrugged with a playful smirk."Asking me than questioning yourself. I didn't know you're clingy to me now, Aiden." Uriel fired back, and it kills the playful devil of Aiden.Rain just stood behind the two and didn't bother to interrupt. At that moment, she just wanted to go out of the elevator and avoid hearing the two.But it seems like the time is playing with her. The elevator feels so slow and irritating. "How was your first day, Miss Esquivel?"Unfortunately, Rain's silence was iterrupted by uriel. Without her knowing, he was observing her through the elevator's mirror. He spoke to distract her."It was alright, Sir. I'm still getting use of the job." She politely said."Good to know. Well, gonna look forward to your performance to grow." Was the last she heard from Uriel before leaving the elevator."Don't make yourself too distracted with him, Rain. He's not as scary as you think. He's just moody and nothing else." Aiden said, maybe to cheer her up and to ease her worries?"Thank you, Aiden."They separate ways as they went to their designated working areas. The moment she reached her area was the moment her work had to be started. She re-read the content of each file before piling it for the Boss's signature. For so many files that she checked, it took her several hours to finish half of it. Plus, answering calls for the boss. When noon strikes, she personally asks the boss regarding its lunch."Sir, it's noon time. May I know your food preferences so I can order it on your behalf?"Uriel was busy reading when he noticed Rain. "No need, Miss Esquivel. I'm not having my lunch here.""Okay, Sir." She acknowledged his reasoning and bowed. "If you may excuse me.""Stop." Uriel stopped her and closed the file he's currently reading. He looked at her directly to the eye."Yes, Sir?" She asked his pardon for stopping her suddenly."You're coming with me." He calmly said and took his coat from the rack."What?" She was surprised that she didn't notice she reacted way quickly and informal. "Sorry, but why?" But was also quick to correct it.Uriel walked towards her direction, it feels like the moment slowed down because in her eyes, he moved slower as well. She was slightly possessed by her godly looks and well toned psyche."We're having a private meeting with my family."She was stunned. His words ringing up to her eardrum like a broken alarm.Did she hear it right? Are they really going to meet his family? For what purpose does it have to do with her presence? She didn't mean to think that way, but her mind won't give her peace."Are you just going to stand there?" Uriel interrupted her moment as it almost made her jump."Oh-uh, coming. I'm sorry about that, Sir." Like a good squirrel, she caught up to her boss and gradually apologized for her sudden blankness.Uriel never minded her behaviour and led the way out of his office and towards the exclusive elevator."Brother! Rain! What a coincidence." Aiden was at his way too when they bumped into each other."Hi, Aiden." Rain simply greeted.Aiden waved at her cheekily. "I guess, brother tagged you with him to dine with us."Rain is shy. She really doesn't think she has to attend with her boss to its personal affair. To avoid scolding, she just simply nods in response. As much as she could, she wanted to avoid any miscommunication with her boss and go along."Great!"As the three of them entered the designated hotel which they are going to meet with her bosses' family, she couldn't contain the uneasiness building up within her. The surrounding might feel cold, but it's indeed nothing compare to tye coldness she's having in both of her hands and feet. Yes, she's nervous. Really. "It seems like they're already waiting for us." Aiden spoke and took a glance of her. "Rain, you're quite." She blinked more than usual. More than thrice as she looked back at Aiden. "Oh, did I missed something?" She replied. "No, nothing. Just wondering why you're quite." Aiden just shrugged and smiled. 'What am I supposed to talk about? It's not like they're like an ordinary people, like me.' Rain said at the back of her mind. Uriel on the other hand was just observing his two subordinates. He was talking with his brother earlier regarding the status of their business, as he just replaced their grandfather from the position of a CEO. Also, the presence of his secr
As they got back at the company, they went back to each of their designated work as if nothing happened. On their way back, the two brothers were quite, Aiden was observant to give the peace that his brother need. For Rain, she just feel like she's not in a proper place to question or to speak, right after the encounter. Even if she was the innocent victim who was judged by his boss' mother. Although, the woman did apologized to her before they separate ways. Her boss did its job to stand up for her and that was enough. "Hi, good afternoon." A lady in a corporate attire went to her desk with a small and shy smile crept in its lips. Rain stood up. "Hi, good afternoon toom how may I help you, miss?" She politely greeted and cater the girl. The girl handed a few files to her, "The department of finance asked for the signature of the CEO. This is the summary of the sales report for the last six months." Rain took the files and checked it individually. After a few seconds, "When do you
When Rain finally handed the files back to the said department, she went home immediately. But as she was walking towards her house, the memory of her staring at her boss's was still fresh. It felt so slow like a drama, whereas the main girl character was astonished to the main lead character. She crouched on her own head as it practically drowned her from living inside her memory. "Enough of that, Rain." She scolded herself for that. "You're home now. Quit fantasizing." She hissed and composed herself once again before opening the entrance door of her house. As expected, Bea is there. Probably, waiting for her. But this time, the kids are still awake. Playing rubics cube and lego toys in the living area. "Mommy!" The three adorable kids beemed when they noticed her presence. Rain smiled heartily. Upon seeing her kids, all of her worries were replenished by them. It seems like these children have their own magic to heal her from distraction. "Hello, babies." She knelt on the groun
All of a sudden, Uriel requested her to stay. Rain had no room for rejection as it is a part of her work, although, there’s a huge part of her that was so disappointed because she thought she could finally go home and have a rest. "If you wish, Sir. I shall stay and lend you my help." She answered. "I appreciate it, Miss Esquivel." He tilt his head up to look at her. When he found her eyes looking back at his, he couldn't figure something as to why those deep emerald eyes gives him some chill, which is indeed quite unknown. "What is it that you want me to help you with, Sir. So, we could begin it." She didn't let the topic loose and asked the necessary things that her boss wants her to help with. Uriel took off his sight from her and check the things that he needs her to work with. When he found the gigantic files piling up beside his table, he pointed it for her to see. "It's here." He must be saving his words for that. Rain took several steps to see where he was pointing, her e
Uriel was busy when Rain interrupted him. He looked up to her and put everything from his hand to the desk. "The food is here, Sir. I should set them up so you could eat." She said and smiled before turning her back at him. It was a fast pace interaction between him and her. He followed her by gaze and following every actions she's doing to prepare the foods he ordered. He saw how it took her much effort to keep the things she's working aside before setting all the foods on the midi table in the living area. After a couple of minutes, she turned to his place and invited him to dinner. "Sir, the food is ready." Uriel blinked his eyes naturally and eventually stood up. He walked towards the living area and sat comfortably at the single sofa. The moment he had his seat, she excused herself silently with the files on hand. She carried a lot and that confused him. Because to him, they're supposed to eat together. It's not like, he brought dinner for himself only, but also for her. "Whe
Uriel didn't expect her to ask him the same question. He might not show any emotions, deep inside he knows how surprised he is. He's thinking whether to answer her honestly or not? But, what caught him up is her honesty. He did asked her and she answered him without even having a second thought for being a stranger. You know, it must be a secret that cannot be easily opened to anyone. But she did. Time passed by, she didn't get an answer from him. So, she considered it as a privacy that her boss couldn't open, especially to someone like her. How dare she asked that when she's just a nobody? "I apologize for asking you so suddenly about that, Sir." She apologized and gradually resume her unfinished food. Uriel was looking at her. Every movements she creates and as well as every emotions she have shown. One unknown feeling is that, he didn't feel harm or discomfort from her. It's as if, he knows her. But cannot remember when and where. By just hearing her apologizing for asking h
Both of them are quiet aware of who they are in each other's lives. They must not step beyond the boundaries that they shared as boss and employee. Invading someone else's privacy must not be tolerated and maximized. And in order to protect her profile, Rain stood up with her lies by nodding to her boss' question. For her, it's inappropriate for her boss to know more about her life. "He must be wondering why you're not coming home..." he stated. "I have already explained to him why I wasn't able to come home. It was my fault for not informing him in advanced, but he's fine now. Don't worry about it, Sir." she assured as she made her way back to the living area of the office, where she worked since last night. "I see. You should go home by six, I'll do the rest." he commanded, which made her stilled. She's surprised to hear that he's not planning to rest and just continue with work. Is he immortal? Aren't he tired and sleepy after all the workloads they've done together? Rain has
Right after Uriel's work at noon, he took the initiative to call for his butler. To drive him to his dad's house, where it lives with its mistress together with its other family. Yes, his parents are no longer together and had gone separate ways after he reached twelve. Their relationship seemed not to work due to some uncertainties. And he was the fruit and the victim itself from that broken relationship. His mom turned into a person where motherly doesn't even exist. She was callous and even his existence never counts and was treated unevenly. He never experienced on how does it feel to be loved by a mother. Never. And that's why he grew up like an ice, where coldness bathed his personality. Unlike, Aiden. He was raised beautifully, with good people surrounding him, where everyone that surrounds him, loves him dearly. And that's what also makes Aiden turned into someone who's softy, but a spoiled and a teaser man. Aiden is his biological brother. However, they grew up separately.
