Vanessa’s POV

The buildings outside the tinted glass of Vanessa’s car moved fast and blurred by in streaks of neon and steel. Manhattan never stopped moving, and usually, she thrived on it — the flashing lights, the snapping of cameras, the heat of gazes that always found her wherever she went. But tonight, she wasn’t basking in attention. Tonight, she was curled against the corner of the leather seat, palms sweaty, clutching her Hermès bag as though her life were inside it.

Because it was.

Inside the bag, folded twice and hidden beneath her compact and lipstick, was the contract Damian Blackwood himself had signed. The infamous clause — the one she repeated in her head like a prayer, a mantra, a curse. Neither party shall engage in sexual relations with other individuals during the period of this agreement.

That was her lifeline. That, and the little stick she had shoved deep into her bathroom trashcan three nights ago.

The stick with two pink lines.

Evelyn’s POVThe days had begun to move so fast. Mornings in the Blackwood mansion came softly, with the rustle of leaves in the courtyard, and the muted hum of the staff moving quietly around the house. The sun shone brightly over the garden casting its rays across the building. Weeks had passed since Vanessa’s visit with the proof of her pregnancy, and since her visit to Dr Allen, but the memory still lingered like a shadow, even though life had moved on. Damian had gone back to his work routine, Gregory had resumed his chess games in the study, and Evelyn… Evelyn had learned to live between calm and uncertainty. She walked slowly along the terrace that morning, one hand resting absently over her stomach. The air was cool, scented faintly with rain and roses. The garden below shimmered in the sunlight, neatly trimmed hedges, the fountain gurgled softly. It was peaceful, almost enough to make her forget that the world outside the mansion walls still gossiped

  • The Billionaire's Virgin Surrogate   Chapter 54 – The Weight of Proof

Damian’s POVThe paper was still in his jacket's pocket. Damian stood in the study, the heavy curtains drawn, the only light in the room was the amber glow from the desk lamp. He had read the words three times now, and each time they refused to sound like the lie he wanted them to be.Pregnancy confirmed. Seven to eight weeks. Clinical letterhead. Official seal. The fury grew in his chest like a living thing. Vanessa had walked into his home, into his world, holding this paper like a weapon, and worst of all, she had left it behind.A reminder. A challenge. A weapon. Damian slammed the report down on the desk, the wood shaking beneath the blow. His reflection in the glass cabinet across the room glared back at him—gray eyes sharp with rage, jaw clenched until it ached.“Son of a—”The knock at the door cut him off. It sounded precise and familiar.“Come in,” Damian bit out.The door opened and Reed Dawson stepped in, his tailored suit crisp, tie slightly loose

Evelyn’s POVHushed voices echoed through the walls and up to her room, but Evelyn’s ears couldn't pick up the words, all she could hear was the muffled voices. One voice belonged to Damian, it was low and firm. The other… feminine, smooth, triumphant.Evelyn was worried, but she couldn't go out, because doing so would only interrupt whatever chaos was going on in the mansion. She sat rigid on the edge of her bed, the book she was reading forgotten in her lap. Her fingers gripped the fabric of her nightgown as though she was bracing herself for a punch, but it didn’t stop the unease creeping up her spine. Then she heard it, that laughter—Vanessa’s laughter, she couldn't be mistaken, she had heard that laughter multiple times on the recorded videos of high class events. She closed the book with a snap and stood, pacing to the door. She pressed her ear to the wood, but she couldn’t make out any word, but she could tell enough. Vanessa was here, in this house. And

  • The Billionaire's Virgin Surrogate   Chapter 52 – Vanessa’s Arrival

Vanessa’s POVThe Blackwood mansion stood beautifully tall as always, it was surrounded by golden lamps casting their rays on the building. To most, it was intimidating, a kingdom with walls too high to see through, but to Vanessa, it was the prize. The place she had been excluded from for weeks, the place where Evelyn Carter, that little nobody from a greasy diner, now slept beneath the Blackwood’s roof. Not tonight.Tonight, Vanessa wasn’t coming as the discarded mistress, the forgotten desire, she was coming as the mother of Damian Blackwood’s heir. Her car glided up the circular driveway, tires screeching against the gravel, she adjusted her hair in the tinted window’s reflection, ensuring every curl was perfect, and making sure every line of makeup was sharp. The dress she’d chosen was deliberate: a crimson silk, with plunging neckline, and slit high up her thigh. Powerful, unforgettable, and impossible to ignore. And in her hand, tucked into a leather folio

  • The Billionaire's Virgin Surrogate   Chapter 50 – Sisterly Confessions

Evelyn's POV Evelyn shifted in her seat, her fingers tapping lightly against her phone screen as she waited for the call to connect.“Carmen, please pick up,” she whispered under her breath. Finally, a familiar voice crackled through the phone. “Evelyn? Don’t tell me you finally remembered I exist.”Evelyn laughed softly, the sound half-relief. “Of course I remember. I just… things have been, complicated.”“Complicated? Girl, you’re living in a billionaire’s mansion. I’m out here eating ramen, and you’re talking about complicated?” Carmen teased, but Evelyn could hear the curiosity simmering beneath the joke.“I want you to come visit,” Evelyn blurted out. “Today, if you can. Please.”There was a pause. “Visit? In his mansion? You’re serious?”“Yes. I already asked, and Damian said it’s fine.” Evelyn’s voice dropped. “I really need someone to talk to, someone I trust.”Carmen sighed dramatically. “Fine. But if the guards question me like I’m smuggling state sec
