Trusting the bad friend

"Hey there, Meg..." Rhett hailed casually with smiles in his face unsure of the right word to use for her. "It's so good to see you after all these years."

"Hi, Rhett. Its so good to see you too." Megan reciprocated although without smiles. "Maybe, though."

"To be sincere Meg, I really looked for you after the day you chased me like a pest from your house." Rhett told her, rubbing his palm together. "But each time I keep coming, I always find the door locked and I usually don't get the chance of seeing you too. I really looked for you but all my efforts proved futile. It produce no reward or effect but yet, I never gave up on searching for you until the day we meet at that board meeting."

Megan leaned her back on the chair as if she's enjoying the conversation which she is not. She know Rhett won't leave if she did not comply with him. Yeah, she have to act in accordance with him for today.
