The next morning, Trinity woke up to the sound of her phone ringing.
She sighed, patting the bedside table, looking for her phone.
Her sleep, however, completely vanished when she noticed it was Dmitri who was calling her.
She sat up in bed at once. So he'd been avoiding all her calls for the past three days and today he decides to call her.
Taking a deep breath, Trinity picked up the phone, "Hello?"
"Trinity."
Boy, she didn't realise how badly she was missing him until he spoke. So much so that hearing his voice brought tears to her eyes almost instantly.
Composing herself, she replied in the same professional voice he'd used with her. "Dmitri."
A pause.
"We need to talk."
"Oh, now you're ready to listen to me?" Trinity couldn't help but say.
Trinity was plating the food she'd brought from Simon's, humming a tune under her breath with a smile which seemed to have fixed itself onto her face almost permanently now when Dmitri returned to the kitchen, his hair still wet.Trinity looked up at him, her expression amused. "That, my dear husband, needs to be written down as the fastest shower in the the history of showers."Dmitri laughed, walking towards her until he was standing right in front of her. "I didn't want to be away from you for more than what was strictly necessary."Trinity blushed at his words. "You're such a cheesy romantic.""I'm your cheesy romantic."Trinity grinned, wrapping her hands around his neck while his came around her waist. "I quite like the sound of that," she murmured softly before leaning forward and kissing him.Dmitri sighed happily once they'd pulled back. "I could get used t
"Keep your eyes closed, no peeking," Dmitri said as he held Trinity's hands in his, guiding her."Well, duh, I couldn't even if I wanted to. You've blindfolded me," Trinity muttered as she concentrated on keeping one foot in front of the other so as to not fall down.Dmitri chuckled. "Almost there now, milaya. Then I'll take it off."After returning home, Trinity had quickly thrown on the dress they'd decided on before applying a light layer of make up, leaving her hair in soft tresses down her back like Joy had set 'em before she'd left.Dmitri had come in, all ready to go sharp at six like he'd promised with a bouquet of violet roses in hand, ones that matched the color of Trinity's eyes perfectly."They're beautiful. The color... it's just like my eyes," Trinity said softly, fingering a petal."Yeah, it took me some time to find the right color but here we
Blissful. That was the one word Trinity never thought she would ever use in regard to her life. But that was exactly what it had been for the past two and a half months- completely and utterly blissful.Dmitri and Trinity's relationship was as good as it could get. Being together had come easily for them, almost as if that is how it was always meant to be. They even slept in the same bed now, sleeping and doing much more together each night. They had gone on a lot of dates after the first one- some as simple as a movie night and dinner while others as extravagant as a hot air balloon ride.Life with Dmitri was everything Trinity could ever ask for and more. It was like staying with your best friend, only she loved him and they could kiss, cuddle and do much more when they felt like it. And that in Trinity's opinion was the best kind of relationship to have. They'd even attended quite a few par
"Uh oh, what is she doing here?" Tyler muttered under his breath.Even though Trinity hadn't caught onto his words, she noticed the way his expression changed. "What's wrong, Tyler?""Uh, nothing. It's not important," Tyler tried to shrug it off, but Trinity was having none of it.She turned around in her seat, trying to look at what Tyler was looking at. The bar was directly behind her from where they were seated in the club and Dmitri had just gone to get something. So she assumed he was looking at Dmitri, but it was hard to make out where he was in the flashing lights."Trinity," Tyler tugged at her hand, urging her to look back at him.Trinity turned, only to see Tyler's panicked expression. "There's nothing there. I told you it was nothing," he shouted to be heard over the music.Trinity narrowed her eyes at him. It defini
To say that Trinity was completely hammered after three drinks would be an understatement because the woman was beyond hammered."Dmitri," she called out to him loudly, even though he was sitting right next to her."Yes, milaya?"Trinity giggled. "I love that you call me milaya. I didn't realize what it meant until Angela told me one day. You're the sweetest, Dmitri."Dmitri chuckled. "I know I am. Only for you, though.""Geez, I know you guys are happy together but no need it to rub it in our faces," Tyler muttered almost moodily.Dmitri laughed. "It's not my fault she's such a sappy drunk.""I'm not drunk," Trinity announced loudly, making the three of them turn to her, their expressions amused."You are, Trinity. Can you even tell me how many fingers I'm holding up right now?" Tyler asked, clear
Dmitri slipped in and out of consciousness after that. He could remember Tyler helping him to the bed.He could remember Samantha asking him if he was okay but he couldn't remember what he'd answered with or if he'd answered at all. He could remember saying he was hot and that Trinity had helped him take his shirt off.He could faintly remember the weight of someone's lips on his own and that it had felt weird but he couldn't remember who he'd been kissing. He could remember Jack, his bodyguard, trying to shake him awake. When he finally came to, he was in his his bed back at his penthouse with Trinity by his side.Still a bit disoriented, he rubbed at his eyes. He noticed that Trinity was still in her dress from last night and so was he.Quietly and carefully so as to not wake her up, he took her clothes off so she could sleep
A week passed, which Trinity spent planning Dmitri's upcoming birthday party. Usually, it was his mum who planned everything for his birthday but this time around Trinity had taken it upon herself to plan it all out.His birthday was just the next day and everything for the party was prepared. Between preparing for the party and studying on the side, what had happened the day they'd gone to the club opening was all but forgotten. Besides, Jack hadn't found anything particularly suspicious either. So Trinity had decided to forget all about it and focus on the party. The party wasn't exactly a surprise. Dmitri knew already that there'd be a birthday party the day of his birthday. He also knew that Trinity was the one who was planning it this time around. But still Trinity had taken care not to let any of the details regarding it slip out.She wanted the day to be as exciting and surprising for him
"Bowling? Are you kidding me?!" Dmitri's grin was so wide as he realised they were going bowling that it nearly lit the whole place up.From what she'd gathered so far, bowling used to be his favourite thing back at school. But ever since he'd started helping his mum out before eventually taking the company on, he'd started going less and less. There were a lot of things which he used to love doing but had eventually taken a backseat because of work. So she'd planned on making him revisit as many of those as she could on his special day. After bowling, where Dmitri won, seeing as Trinity had no idea what she was doing, they went laser tag.Tyler, Casey, Angela, Tina, Joy, Nigel and the twins all met up with them there. They all quickly split up into teams before gearing up a
