I swallowed hard and folded my fist. I couldn't believe that James came all the way here. For what? He should be mature enough to know that he is supposed to stay away from couples fights.

"Why are you here, Whites?" I demanded and scoffed. "I can't believe you followed us down here."

James winked at me and moved even closer to Sally. He placed his hand on her shoulder, and I gritted my teeth. Sally turned around to stare at his hold on her shoulder. She lifted her head, stole a glance at me, and turned back to face James.

"What did you mean by the last statement you made?" James asked Sally.

I pushed James's hands forcefully off Sally's shoulder.

"It is none of your business!" I shouted at him.

He turned to me sharply, and I was forced to take a step closer to him. James had an annoying grin on his face.

I knew he was trying to ruin my reputation. He wanted to be the biggest thing in the business world, and my foolish contracted wife was helping, too.
