Zade’s POV

As the week drags by, I let out a long, exhausted breath walking into the house after a Saturday full of informal business meetings with future investors on the damn golf course. My shoulders ache and my patience is spent. I swing my golf bag off my shoulder and shut the door behind me.

“Jeff!” I call out.

He comes jogging down the stairs like he was waiting for me to yell.

“Hi, sir. How can I help you?”

“Hey, Jeff,” I sigh. “Where’s my wife?”

“Oh, Mrs. Clover is upsta

  • The Billionaires Blind Reckoning   Brother Worries

Lucas POV I leaned back in my chair, staring at my phone like it was personally responsible for all the chaos in my life.Zade finally called.I picked up on the first ring.“Hey, brother. What time?”He didn’t even bother with small talk. “I wanted to talk to you about something else but its on Friday at eleven a.m. Be there by ten-thirty. I’ll text the address.”“Okay.” I rubbed my temple. “You said you had something else. Is it about my sister?”He exhaled. “ Yes, it's two things. First she’s not at the condo anymore.”My stomach dropped. “What do you mean she’s not at the condo?”“She was followed home from work,” he said. “She went to the diner instead of going home. Somebody trailed her. She never went back. I ran into her adoptive brother moving her stuff out.”I sat up straight. “Why didn’t she call me?”“No clue.”I was already reaching for Clover’s contact, but Zade kept talking.“Second thing… I hired a private investigator.”That got my full attention. “For Daisy?”“Yeah

  • The Billionaires Blind Reckoning   Hidden Video Truths

Zade’s POVI take a deep breath the second I step out of Clover’s office, letting the door click shut behind me. That’s all I can do right now is breathe.I did everything I could.Laid it all out.Put my heart on the damn table.Did I believe every word I said? No. Maybe eighty percent. Will I follow through on it?Absolutely, one hundred percent.Because I want my wife back. And I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.I sit down at my desk, still staring at the wall, when my phone rings. I clear my throat and pick it up.“Zade’s office. How can I help you?”“Mr. Smith, we’ve been looking for you.”I frown. “Who is this?”“This is Detective George.”“Oh. Hi, Detective George. What can I do for you?”He lets out a small sigh. “You were looking into some footage from a few months back from a hotels bar area and check-in lobby?”“Yeah. I was. Why?”“Well, I’m a detective by day, but I’m also a licensed private investigator. Roland, my partner, he’s tied up on a murder case, so

  • The Billionaires Blind Reckoning   Finally a Real Apology

Clover’s POVAs I wake up, I decide on a black straight-leg pantsuit with an asymmetrical, button-up jacket. The buttons are pearls, and underneath I wear a fitted collared shirt that accentuates my well-endowed breast without being inappropriate.I put on minimal jewelry.Instead of my usual high ponytail—the one everyone says looks best on me I leave my hair down in natural waves and curls. No heat, no manipulation. Just my natural hair today.Very light makeup.I grab my briefcase, phone, and purse.I call out to my grandmother.“Can you drop me off, or should I call an Uber?”“It’s up to you,” she says. “I can take you, or you can call your driver.”“Grandma, please drop me off. It’s not that far.”She helps me get everything to the car, and we head to the company. When we arrive, I say, “Thank you so much, Grandma. I’ll call my Uber for pickup later.”“Okay, love. Have a great day.”“You too, Grandma.”I get out and walk toward the building.I came in a different vehicle on purp

  • The Billionaires Blind Reckoning   Old Man Clarity

Zade's POV Zade knew he had been acting childish. He admitted that to himself as he shut down his computer and stared at the blank screen.Clover still wasn’t talking to him.No hugs. No kisses. No casual touches. No warmth. She treated him like he didn’t exist. And that hurt more than he was willing to admit out loud.He knew she loved him. He had seen it in her face at the restaurant when he saved her. He had seen it in her eyes, that flicker of fear, then relief, then something softer. She still loved him.He just had to get her back.By any means necessary.By the time he finished work, Clover was already gone.He hadn’t even noticed her leaving. That realization hit him like a punch to the chest.I was too distracted. Too caught up in my own mess.He grabbed his keys.“I’m going to her,” he muttered. If she wouldn’t talk to him on his turf, he’d go to hers.Driving down the 405, his mind raced.Do I tell her I love her?Do I tell her I don’t have to move in right away?Do I buy

  • The Billionaires Blind Reckoning   Yeah We Are Family

Third-Person POV“Ring, ring.”“What?” Daisy snaps. The woman sighs. “I’m sorry, Daisy, but… I kinda lost her.”“What the fuck do you mean you kinda lost her?”“Well, when I walked into the restaurant, she was there eating. Then she got up and went to the back. That was over three hours ago. She never came back out.”Daisy groans. “Is her grandmother’s old decrepit ass still there?”“No. She’s gone too.”Daisy screams into the phone. “You’re so stupid. Obviously they left through the back because they noticed you were trailing them. You are not the brightest bulb in the bunch.”The woman winces.“You should’ve sent someone else after her. I’m calling Kade. At least Kade knows what he’s doing. This bullshit about him hiring you and your freakazoid husband is a disgrace. I already bailed his ass out of jail, bought you another car when the last one broke down, and you still got caught.”The woman groans. “I was doing reconnaissance. Trying to make sure everything went seamlessly.”“Wel

  • The Billionaires Blind Reckoning   Idiots are also dumb

Clover’s POVI sigh because the rest of the day went exactly how I knew it would.Zade is a real piece of work. When I say he’s pissed at me, he is pissed. Rolling his eyes like a petulant child, stomping around, and every time he hears his name, he runs over.“What can I help you with?”Weirdo.By the time my Uber driver pulls up, I’m honored to get in Joe’s car.“Hi, Mrs. Smith. Are we ready?”“Yes. Take me to my home home.”“You got it.”As we drive, I notice a car following us. I sigh.Maybe Lucas and them are right. Maybe this kidnapping thing is real. That car was in the parking lot when I walked out. It’s not the red one from before, no, this one is newer, sleeker, still a sedan. Camry-type. I don’t know the exact model, but it’s definitely following us.I tap Joe’s shoulder. “Don’t take me home. I’m sorry. Take me to the diner.”“Okay, you got it.”He takes the next exit and turns toward the diner.I noticed that the vehicle following us did the exact same thing. When we arriv
