Dwayne's POV

My heart skipped a beat when she lifted the vase. She watched me, stepping back as she aimed at me.

What did she…? Hold on a second, she hasn't even listened to the ending. I held back the smile I had before I was smacked to unconsciousness.

“Hear me out, first,” I began, treading carefully.

“I didn't put him in that state,” I continued. “Shane did.”

“What? He wouldn't…”

“He did,” I answered, not taking my eyes off her.

“And this is good news because?”

I rolled my eyes and sighed. “Think, xandra. You're not that dumb. I am trying to get my hands on the CEO position which my brother got easily because he married her.”

“Don't bring me into your family drama,” she said, her hand relaxing now.

I laughed, because she was clueless. “You are already in it.”

“Excuse me?”

“You got into the family drama the second you agreed to help me,” I answered.

Her chest rose as our eyes locked and I smirked. “And now you're going to help me again.”
