Mia stood there with her mouth aghast, stunned at the words of Liam. “ Did she just hear him refer to her as his house help” she wondered. Liam saw that she was not following and came back to drag her out while the people looked at them, mocking her.

“I guessed she wanted to have an experience of how people in our class party.” She heard someone say, while the crowd laughed at her as Liam dragged her out like a disobedient child who needed to be punished for a crime.

“What are you doing here Mia?” Who gave you this address? Why are you here to embarrass me? Liam shouted at her. He had dragged her to a corner of the hall, far from the people at the party, so they wouldn't hear what they were saying.

Just take a look inside, Mia; He said, pointing to the hall full of people dancing and chattering. “What do you see? Do you see anyone in the hall dressed cheaply like you? Even the hotel waiters and waitresses looked more classy than you.

Mia looked at the people dancing: women dressed in beautiful, attractive clothes, men dressed in nice tuxedos, talking to them, and some dancing with them. She looked back at Liam with tears in her eyes.

She knows what he wants to prove but she just doesn't want to accept it. Liam, please I am sorry for the incident with the waiter. I was looking all over for you to congratulate you and give you the surprise birthday gift I got for you. I saw you and was heading your way without looking and stepped on the waiter.

I know you are angry at the damages I caused, but it hurts to hear you call me your house help among your friends and colleagues. Mia said with tears streaming down her face.

“Today just proves to me that we can't be together again Mia. “Don’t you see what I'm talking about? I belong here with these people but you don't. Just look at yourself, take a look at what you wore to a party.

“You love this dress, Liam.”This is my best dress and you know it. I will never intentionally humiliate you. She choked on her tears and closed her eyes. You used to like me wearing this dress, you said I looked beautiful in it, that's why I wore it.

Things are no longer the same Mia. I have changed. I am now the CEO of a billion-dollar company. I now drink and dine with celebrities, wealthy businessmen, and tycoons. My life has changed, Mia, and you can't be seen with me anymore. This relationship is over, I will compensate you with a million dollars once I have gotten full access to my wealth. Liam looked at her with pity.

“Why… Liam? Why now? Is it because of these people you barely know?”Mia pointed at the people with tears streaming down her eyes. We’ve been together for three years, where were they before you became the CEO, Liam? Where were they last night when you were troubled and down, afraid of being rejected? Now you have achieved the dream we both looked forward to, instead of celebrating with me, you humiliated me by calling me your help house. Mia was heartbroken and in pain.

“ I know you've been there for me when I was down, I will compensate you, I promise. But I am sorry, we can't be together anymore; you are not the woman for me; we are not in the same social circle anymore. Please, stop coming to find me, I don't want my new friends to see you or know that I have ever associated with you. Please leave, he heaved a deep sigh, then turned and walked back into the hall.

Mia watched him go, and she saw him approach a beautiful blonde who looped her hand in his arm, and together, they joined another group of people. Tears trailed down her cheeks. She didn't bother to wipe them anymore as she ran away from the hotel.

She entered the car she bought for him with her last savings and sat down sobbing inside. She couldn't believe Liam would do this to her after three perfect years with him. There was no sign that he never loved her, although he hardly said the Love word to her.

She turned on the car and drove out of the hotel, with tears streaming down her eyes. She needed to go somewhere and do something that would make her forget about Liam's humiliation and betrayal. Seeing the sign of a bar close by, Mia parked the car and went inside the bar to drink.

Hey, get me a bottle of Whiskey .” Mia said to the bartender as she sat down on a stool in the bar. She wiped her tears, sobbing softly and listening to the distinct music, Liam was enjoying himself with another woman, and here she was crying over him.

The bartender brought a bottle of Whiskey with a glass cup for her. Mia drank one glass of whiskey and felt the hot gin burn the back of her throat. It tasted so good, and she took it again until she lost count of the number of bottles she had.

Her head started tilting like it wanted to fall off; she was tipsy, and her vision was almost blurred.

“Hey darling, you’ve had too much to drink for having a bad day.” A strong, sexy, masculine voice spoke beside her; she turned her head to check out the man who came to sit beside her.

“Hmm, you're so damn handsome. Mia looked at the handsome man, dressed in an expensive black tuxedo suit, with a shiny and expensive-looking leather shoe. His eyes were so enchanting that she felt drawn to him.

“Can I take you home when you are done staring at me?” This is not a place to leave a drunk beautiful lady like you, trust me. The stranger told her.

Mia looked around and saw the men ogling her body with lust on their faces. She was the only female there and her sexy gown made it worse.

Mia chuckled at the handsome stranger, feeling bold as a wild thought came to her head. “I will go with you, but only if you promise to fuck me till I forget my sorrow.”

Father John stood there in shock. Did Liam really just say that? “Liam, can we have a word?” the priest asked, his voice calm but firm.Liam met his gaze before giving a small, almost mocking smile. “Of course, Father.”He followed Father John to a quiet corner outside the room. The dim lighting of the warehouse cast long shadows against the walls, the air thick with tension. The faint hum of the generator in the background was the only sound accompanying their conversation.“What are you doing, son? This isn’t like you,” Father John said, his voice laced with disbelief and disappointment.Liam scoffed, running a hand through his hair. “This is exactly who I’ve always been, Father. When I see an opportunity, I make sure to grab it with both hands.”Father John’s brows furrowed. “By kidnapping a lady and forcing her into marriage? This goes against the will of God, and you know it.”Liam let out a dry chuckle. “Let’s not even go there, Father. Right now, there’s only one person’s will

Kim got back home around 7:30 AM, her heels clicking against the marble floor as she stepped into the dimly lit living room. The weight of frustration and jealousy burned inside her, and before she could stop herself, she grabbed a porcelain flower vase from the coffee table and hurled it against the wall. The shattering sound echoed through the house, the fragments scattering across the floor like her broken patience."Why is he still thinking about her?" Kim seethed, her breathing ragged. "Why can't he just focus on me?"She squeezed her fists, her nails digging into her palms. Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down. Losing control wouldn’t get her what she wanted. She straightened her posture, smoothing down the hem of her silk robe, and reached for her phone. She dialed Liam’s number, her fingers gripping the device tightly. He picked up after the first ring."Talk to me," Liam's voice was sharp, impatient."Shaw is onto me. We have to be more careful," Kim warned.

SHAW POVIt didn’t take long before the inspector began investigating. I texted Kim to come over so we could chat, and she agreed almost immediately. After speaking with Alicia, I had found a nice boarding school for Jake and sent him there. I didn’t want him involved in all this mess. He had already been through too much, and with Mia missing, things were getting more dangerous by the second.‘I’ll be at your place soon,’ Kim replied. I informed Jack, who was calling in for some support from his station. Then I turned to Grace and said, “It’s really good she has you as a friend. We’re going to find her. That’s a promise.”Grace gave me a slight nod, her expression unreadable. She had barely spoken since we left the station, but I knew she was just holding everything in. If she let it all out, she’d break down completely.Jack called me over, snapping me out of my thoughts. “So, backup is on their way. This is the plan: when she arrives at your place, try asking her some questions ab

SHAW POVHearing that was shocking. Immediately after ending the call, I tried dialing Mia’s number, but it didn’t go through. I tried a few more times, and it went straight to voicemail. A sinking feeling settled in my stomach.I had just finished having my bath and was about to head to the office when I received Grace’s call. I stopped everything I was doing and immediately began my journey to Grace’s place, my mind racing with possibilities. Something wasn’t right. In a few minutes, I was at her apartment. I knocked on the door, and she opened after the third knock. As soon as I saw her, I could tell she was in a state of panic. Her eyes were red-rimmed, and her hands trembled slightly as she stepped aside to let me in.“What happened?” I asked as I walked inside, my voice sharper than intended.Grace shut the door behind me and took a deep breath before speaking. “Yesterday, I went out to get some groceries, and when I got back, I noticed that she was gone. At first, I thought she

Mia’s POVDarkness. That was all I could see. The space around me was tight, the air thick and suffocating. Every bump in the road sent sharp jolts through my body as I lay curled up inside what I could only assume was the trunk of a car. My hands were bound, the rope digging into my wrists, and a rough sack covered my head, making it impossible to see where I was being taken.I tried to steady my breathing, but panic clawed at my throat. The scent of gasoline and something metallic filled my nostrils, and my stomach churned. My baby. I had to protect my baby. I shifted slightly, trying to find a more comfortable position, but the trunk was too small, the hard surface unforgiving. After what felt like an eternity, the car came to a sudden stop. My heart pounded in anticipation of what was to come next. I heard the sound of doors opening, footsteps crunching against gravel. Then, the trunk popped open.Rough hands grabbed me, dragging me out. I struggled, kicking out blindly, but my ca

“I’m done with her, Liam. It’s time for Plan B,” Kim said, her voice low and full of venom as she held her phone close to her ear.Liam was silent for a few seconds before he finally replied, “Alright. Where do we meet up?”“We don’t need to meet up. You already know the plan,” Kim responded coldly before ending the call.inside Shaw’s house, Mia and Shaw were enjoying some alone time, but their moments were constantly interrupted. Alicia had been intruding, and Mia was growing frustrated. It was clear that Alicia didn’t want her and Shaw reconnecting.A knock on the door made Mia roll her eyes. “I thought she was here to see Jake,” she muttered.“She is,” Shaw replied, slowly getting off the bed.“So why does she keep knocking here? This is the fourth time already,” Mia complained, folding her arms.“I’ll take care of it,” Shaw said, his voice firm as he walked toward the door.Opening it, he immediately grabbed Alicia’s wrist and pulled her out into the living room. “Jake is asleep
