Jaxon's POV.
Jaxon looked at the picture of the woman he was to get married to that morning as he got ready for his wedding that day, and he sighed. He had on a black tuxedo and a loose tie that hung around his neck.
“So, what do you think of her?” His friend Silas asked from the corner where he sat, pressing his phone.
“She's okay,”
He looked up, “She's okay?”
“Yeah, what else do you want me to say?”
“Nothing, it's just that she's too pretty to be just okay.”
“Maybe you should marry her yourself then,”
“I wouldn't mind,”
They laughed. He had to say she was pretty, though, with her long sandy blonde hair that shaped her oval-shaped face and her bluish-green eyes that looked into the depths of your soul. She was any man's dream, not his, though.
He had seen her once before when his dad and her dad had been on a business trip with the whole family, and he remembered how she had kept to herself, constantly having nightmares and waking the whole family.
She was not his type.
He dropped the picture, reaching for the cuff links around his bedside table, and he proceeded to put them on, “let me help you with those”, his friend offered.
After they had put them on properly on both hands, and we were about to move on to the tie, the doorbell rang, getting both of their attention.
“Who is that?”
His best friend shrugged, “probably the Chinese food I ordered this morning.”
“You ordered Chinese food?”
“Yeah, they're your favorite, and we should celebrate your getting married. I'll be right back,”
He left the room, leaving both the door and Jaxon's mouth agape, and he shook his head. Who ordered Chinese food on their wedding day?
He picked up his phone, which was on the table, and followed the lucky guy out of the room.
On getting to the sitting room, he didn't see a Chinese box as he would have expected to see, but saw his girlfriend standing in the doorway, looking gorgeous. “Erin?” He questioned,
She peeped from behind his best friend's arm which blocked her way and smiled, “baby, how are you doing?”
He walked over to the doorway where his best friend stood and pulled him out of the way.
“What is she doing here?” His friend asked, looking serious.
“Seeing me obviously,”
He rolled his eyes. “You know what I mean?”
“I don't know what you mean, and I don't care, just excuse us, I'll meet you in the garage,”
He shook his head, “I'll wait here,”
“Silas!”
“Fine, but come out in five minutes, or I'm barging in here.”
It was Jaxon's turn to roll his eyes, “whatever,”
Silas left, shutting the door close, and they were left all alone in the house.
They immediately gravitated towards each other, pulling themselves into their arms as they sealed their lips in a hot kiss, “oh my god, I've missed this,” he groaned.
“Yeah me too,”
They kissed for about five more minutes before pulling apart finally and sitting on a couch in the living room, “I've missed you so much,” he said.
“Yeah, me too…”, She cuddled closer to his side, placing her head on his shoulder, and sighed, “… I just can't believe we had to stay apart for a week just because you were getting married.”
“I know right, it was hell,”
She smiled, “you sometimes know… I just wonder if you love me this much or if… you're just interested in the sex,”
He sat up surprised, “why would you say that all of a sudden, you know how much I love you and would do anything for you? Why would you hurt my feelings right now?”
She sat up. “I'm sorry, I just couldn't help feeling insecure. You're getting married today to a girl who's wealthy and beautiful, and you'll be living with her for a year… I …”
“Hey…” He raised her chin upward to meet his eyes, “… you're beautiful, way more beautiful than her, and living with her won't change my feelings for you, not for a year, not for more, I love you,”
She smiled, “then prove it.”
“What?”
“Prove it, prove to me that you'll always love me and that you'll always put me first”
He raised his brows. “How am I supposed to do that?”
“Have sex with me,”
****
He came out minutes later, putting on his belt properly and having a still loose tie around his neck.
“What in the hell were you two doing there for the past hour,” Silas yelled as soon as he got to his car in the underground garage of his house.
“Nothing that would concern you,”
His friend scoffed, “nothing that would concern me? You have a wedding in less than 30 minutes with a girl that's worth you, and you are busy here doing something that you shouldn't be doing with that girl. How could you then say it doesn't concern me!”
“She isn't just a girl to me, and whatever I was doing with her is none of your business. Now let's go, or would you have me late for my wedding?”
He scoffed again, frustrated about the whole thing, and got in the car, “get in, or you won't have time to see your father,”
Jaxon got in the car, knotting his tie as he did so, and they drove out of his house.
The drive to the hospital wasn't a long one, about fifteen minutes long, but thankfully, the wedding venue was close to the hospital, so he would have time to visit his father and still make it in time for the wedding.
Small attempts he made to talk to his best friend on the way didn't pay off as he wouldn't say a single word to him, “are you still angry about that?”, he asked as they came down from the car, but Silas kept silent.
“Go and meet your dad, I'll wait here,”
“Hey, stop changing the subject,”
“I don't have anything to say to you about what happened earlier, so be fast about your visit and let's get to the wedding,”
Jaxon sighed, “fine, I'm sorry that I had sex with my girlfriend today, but I'm not sorry that I love her,”
Silas kept silent again.
“Uhn, whatever,”
He stomped away from him and into the hospital lobby where numerous people milled around, moving through the different corridors until he got to the VIP room where his father was.
He walked into the room putting on a fake smile as he went, and he approached his dad's side, “good morning father,”
He turned around, “Oh my son, you're around,”
“Yes, I'm around…”
He nodded to his dad's secretary who sat in a corner going through some documents, and he nodded back.
“… How are you feeling today?”
His dad nodded, “okay, but I'm just sad that I won't be able to attend your wedding in person”
“Oh don't be sad, it's understandable why you won't be there, and you shouldn't stress yourself, just relax and watch it from here on the television, I have you in my heart,”
They both smiled, “well you had better get to the wedding then, or you'll be late,”
He thought in his mind, 'I wouldn't mind that.'
“Sure, I'll be on my way now,”
“Bye,”
He left the hospital and walked to where his friend waited, “well, let's go then and get married.”
“You are the one getting married, not me,” Silas smirked while Jaxon rolled his eyes and fastened his pace.
Alva's POV.
Alva sat on a chair that morning as her stylist added more blush to her face, “wow, you look pretty for someone with a worried face,”
She looked up at her best friend, “I'm sorry, I know you're trying your best to make me smile.”
“It's okay, you're just shocked that you're getting married so soon without a warning, but I'm sure everything will be all right.”
They both smiled, “I'll believe you on that one,”
She reached for the phone which was on the table while Jessie went back to making her friend up, and she signaled to her assistant, “please pass me the eyeliner over there”, the eyeliner was passed over to her, and she went back to doing her work.
After an hour of professionally making her friend up both in hair and makeup, Jessie gestured for Alva to stand up and move to the bed where her wedding gown lay. It had been specially ordered from a popular dressmaker in Spain, and it had arrived just the day before.
Alva felt the silk material that I made her dress off and felt fascinated. She had never seen anything so beautiful before. The long white veil beside it was also gorgeous and had a few flowers. It had a long comb at the edge which was going to hook into her hair and she felt it.
“Okay, let's get you into it”, her friend announced reaching for the dress and the stylist and Jessie helped her get into the gown. She faced the mirror once the zip was up her back and she felt stunned, it was truly beautiful.
The long full skirt around her waist was decorated in silk flowers, the styled stitches around them being meticulously done, and It had a deep v-neckline that ended in the middle of her breast. Her shoulders were left bare with the edge surrounding them beautifully, and it gave her this cool and sexy look that many could not pull off. The top part had flowers too and the waistline fitted perfectly, making her feel like a princess.
“You look so beautiful,”
She smiled at her best friend, which looked at her in the mirror and was grateful that she was right beside her. She would have wanted her mom to be beside her too, but she couldn't because of her mistake years ago.
Likewise, she shook her head, she wouldn't think about it, she wouldn't think about that day and what it had cost her.
She grabbed her friend's hand, “Jessie…you know I love you, right?”
She nodded her head, her eyes filling with tears to match the one already in her own, “I know that, and I love you too,”
“… Thank you for always being beside me and always having my time when I called you, I appreciate and would always remember it, okay?”
She nodded her head, “Come here,”
They pulled into a tight hug, reminiscing all the years they had been together and all they had been through, and she sighed, “Just call me uhn, If that jerk does anything funny, I'll break his head in two, okay?”Alva laughed, “Alright,”
They pulled away from the hug, standing apart and staring into their eyes, “Jeez, you almost ruined your makeup uhn,”
Alva snorted, “So much for having an emotional moment together,”
They smiled at themselves and looked back into the mirror. “I'll leave you for a moment now, so you can have a moment alone before saying your vows,”
The panic entered again. “ Sure, I'll be out in a minute,”
They went out, and Jessie and her assistant sat down on the chair, looking tired. She hadn't been able to sleep a wink the other night because how she had kept wondering who her husband will be and what he would look like, and she couldn't help being super curious.
She paused for a minute. Madison had called him one name… Jaxon or so which she could look up. She reached for her phone, turned it on and went to the internet where she typed in his name, Jaxon. The name immediately brought up countless searches, the top one being a gorgeous, well-built man who grew up in America. He was the heir to a big internet company with over 60% rate of success every year, and she remembered her father saying something about an internet company.
Could this be the man she was marrying? She didn't know what to think of him, but he was totally breathtaking.“Alva!” she immediately put the phone away at her sister's voice.
“Yes,”
Her sister walked in at her response and gaped at her, “Wow, you totally look gorgeous for once in your life, guess that your friend of yours knows what she was doing after all,”
“Yeah,”
She stood up, dropping her phone on the table and letting the veil fall behind her to the floor. It was keyed into her hair, with the comb being comfortable and the veil being edged with silk flowers too.
She balanced on her silver shoes.
“Well it's time for you to get married then, I'm sure Jaxon’s mouth will be falling open when he sees you,”
She shrugged. She hoped so, too.
Alva's POV. Alva stood at the door of the wedding hall that same morning as she waited for the music to start. She had her arm hooked around her father's and a bouquet in her other hand while trying to fight away the nervousness."Alva,"She glanced at her friend who stood behind her, "hmm,""You have to stop shaking now, it's going to be alright..."She paused in her every movement, she hadn't realized that she was shaking until her friend said it and now that she knew it, she tried her best to stop shaking. She reached for her friend's hand which was beside hers despite the flowers and squeezed them, "thank you so much,"She nodded. At the sound of the music, she released the hand entwined with hers and faced the door which now opened.Immediately it did, she felt her mouth drop open at the sight of the people inside the hall. She had never seen such an amount of people in a place at the same time and she was amazed as well as afraid.Yes, she knew her dad was a very popular real
They waved at the cheerful guest who had graced their ceremony as they walked out of the reception venue. They were heading to Jaxon's home now that the party was over and Alva couldn't help feeling another wave of nervousness, what was next, what would happen now?Her friend was no longer beside her as she had to take care of cleaning up and couldn't follow her to her husband's house, but she would have loved her to be there. The flash of the paparazzi hit their face as they made their way to their car, and they smiled for the camera. It was all fake smiles though, Alva knew that he didn't care much about her and was probably doing it for his father, so she tried her best to be nonchalant too.It wasn't working, though. She had been smitten by him, hoping something would work out between them, but seeing the way he had treated her on the altar, she had just lost hope. She entered the limousine right after her husband and searched one last time for her family. They were in the crowd l
She woke up the next morning still in her wedding dress, but feeling refreshed, she couldn't believe she had slept in her wedding dress and all, but she had, and she was not surprised. She had been drained out by the events of last night and the day before, and she was glad that it was over…or maybe it wasn't.Her marriage already started, and she was still a virgin, she was still untouched by her so-called husband, and she felt… strange? Well, perhaps not strange, but weird. She pushed back her wandering thoughts, standing up to go to the bathroom, and that's when she saw herself in the mirror. Her jaw fell open, jeez, she looked like a witch who fell out of a plane crash, wow!She touched her face, she was such a mess.Picking up her veil, which had fallen to the floor, she tucked it into a corner and opened the tap to wash her face. By the time she was done, all the makeup was gone and beneath it showed her true face, the face she was familiar with. She smiled sadly, staring at her
Jaxon jerked his hand away from Silas' as they entered his office and he faced him with a glare, “What are you doing?”"What do you mean, what am I doing, I should be asking you that,” Silas fired at him."I don't know what you mean,”“Of course you do, what is Erin doing here?” Silas questioned annoyingly while Jaxon acted nonchalantly, not providing a care in the world as he shrugged his shoulder at him.“Being with me…”“What do you mean being with you, shouldn't you be with the woman you married and not her?”Jaxon sighed, “I've told you already that this marriage is only on paper and that the person I love is Erin, so why should I be with her and not the person I love?” He questioned arrogantly.“Because you have a right to her as her husband and not to Erin, Erin is only a gold digger who is after your money and I don't understand why you can't see that,” Silas answered in the same tone Jaxon used in replying to him."Don't talk about her that way,” Jaxon snapped, his honey-colo
"Erin?"They all questioned as if they had just seen a ghost and she smiled moving forward to hug Jaxon."You got here earlier than I expected," Jaxon smirked as he shoved his left hand into his pocket."What the hell is she doing here?" Silas asked annoyingly, casting a disgusting look at Erin who had already moved close to Jaxon and dropped a peck on his cheek."Giving you a surprise," Jaxon and Erin answered in unison and burst out laughing while Alva stood rooted to her spot trying to process what was going on."Jaxon, I repeat, what is she fucking doing here?" Silas questioned again, covering the distance between them as if he would throw her out and Jaxon stepped forward to defend her, "Give her a break, would you? why can't she be here?""Because this is your honeymoon and she is not supposed to be here," Silas fired, trying to make him see sense in what he's saying."Then you're not supposed to be here too if I get your meaning correctly," Jaxon cornered and glared at Silas.
Jaxon woke up the next morning feeling stressed and tired that he hadn't had enough sleep the other night, and he sat up on his bed. He checked the time to see 7 am and sighed, he would have loved to sleep more.He looked at Erin who slept beside him looking so peaceful, and he felt a rise of desire within him. She was beautiful with her back facing him and her hair splayed all over the pillow, and he even knew that she was bare underneath the covers. He proceeded to pat her hair.He remembered when they had first met at the hotel. Then he had been looking for a one-night stand to get his mind off things, and he had seen her sitting at the counter alone having drinks. When they had proceeded to the room to have sex, he had seen the gigantic scar she had on her back and immediately sobered up. He remembered the scar vividly, the one that the girl who saved him should have.He skimmed his fingers over the scar now, kissing each side of it lightly as he touched it. It wasn't that big of
They went to the mall the next day.Another idea Silas implemented they were to dress in simple clothes. Alva had on plain jeans with sweats and a pair of sneakers, and Jaxon had on sweats too, top and bottom with a pair of sneakers.“Why did you suggest we come here?” Alva asked Silas as they walked into the mall, and he shrugged.“I thought it will help you both bond together besides women love shopping right?”It was her turn to shrug, "well, I've never really shopped before except I was helping Jessie get ingredients,”He became curious, “Who is Jessie?”"My best friend, she was with me on my wedding day, and I'm sure you saw her,”He wasn't as sure, as his eyes had been on her the whole time. He wouldn't admit that though, so he nodded, "Yeah I saw her, how did you get your dresses though if you didn't order them?”She pointed at a clothes shop in the mall and led them towards it, "I just order it, I never really leave the house,”"That must have been boring.” Silas pouted at her
The last day of the honeymoon was spent making dinner with Silas and Jaxon watching them, and he sat by the seaside pressing his phone. They had gone to many places the last few days, the trio seeing new things and going to places she hadn't thought of before. Jaxon had probably seen them, but she hadn't, and she was awed by all the sights. She also wondered if he had been away from Erin the whole week, she knew it wasn't possible. There was the fact that she had seen her at the restaurant and there were also times when she thought she had seen her around them, almost like she was following them, she grimaced. She really didn't want to deal with Erin. She placed the salad from the tray in a plate, and carried it down to the table she had set in the sand. It was Silas idea to have a dinner by the seaside with the breeze blowing on them and the sun setting it rays on them.It was beautiful she had to admit…the idea, and she assisted him in it, but Jaxon as usual was against it. He sat o
