Chapter 7

It was a bright new morning, the sun rays shone remarkably across the city. A few souls could be seen bustling up here and there with their normal activities for the day.

Meanwhile, Rose was just waking up from her deep slumber. It was precisely a courteous monday, which only means she's gonna be starting her new job today.

After the dinner on saturday night with David's parent, she had ran back home out of raw emotions and solely isolated herself inside the room.

Even the gracious sunday was not left out; she had stayed up all the whole day inside the room. Declining to open up the door for David when he had run all the way to her room door, knocking and pleading severally to her and wishing to see her face.

Truth to be told, she was sad, aggravated and disgruntled. She hadn't expected his parent to speak to her in such manner, that was -unethical.

But then, David is not to be blame, he's not. He wasn't in support of his parent actions and had ran after her like a lost hare.

Unhurriedly, a sign flees from Rose's lips as she sat up on the bed. Her hairs were dishevelled as they  popped up while she rested her head on the silver  headboard.

Somehow, the thoughts of leaving the room stimulated her to feel extremely uncomfortable, she doesn't want to leave the room just yet. However, she couldn't take the slight risk of losing her new job for anything. Certainly, the kids would be lingering patiently for her presence.

Without any forethought, Rose sailed out of bed and strode to the bathroom. She further discarded her clothes in a jiffy, her hands working up to her hair as she compressed them in a hairy bun and then, she moved down to the shower to have a cold bath.

"Hmm..." She heaved deeply for the umpteenth time, her hands rested on the wall as the water cascaded freely down her body.

She found herself strangely weakened and depleted, probably from the burdens of cries and reflections.

"Sweetheart, please open the door, huh? I'm sorry, baby! I'm truly sorry," David had beseeched deeply.

"Go away, David! I don't wanna see your face in here! Go away!" She had screamed back at him, hiccuping and choking on her words as she cried heavily into her pillows. It hasn't being easy for her, she was hurt mentally.

A few minutes later, while in the amidst of her self thinking, Rose's belly grumbles angrily, inflicting her to feel a few stings down her abdomen. It reminded her the fact that she hasn't taken a grub for the past day.

Rose appears less concern about it, it wasn't her problem but then, it was her stomach problem.

Promptly, Rose was done showering as she stepped out of the bathroom. Her grey orbs drifting off to the huge wall clock on the table... 7: 51pm!

"Shit!" She cussed, she's likely to get late to work on her first day and that's not a good start to being with.

Quickly, Rose slapdash to the dressing mirror. Her r hand hastily snatched her deodorant which she applied to her flawless body. Instantly, her legs worked on their own as she hurried to the wardrobe and pulled out a black gown which jingled her legs all the way in and then, grabbed hold of black flat shoes and slipped into it.

She went back to the dressing mirror and check out her pleasant self, the black gown hugged her body so tightly. Revealing her curves dangerously while she donned her hairy bun hair into a neat ponytail.

Without any delay, she grabbed her white handbag and left the room in a hurry.

"Rose, sweetheart!" David called, his eyes on his girlfriend as he saw her descending the stairs and then, she took the last tread and got to him as they both locked eyes.

Rose was tight-lipped on seeing the state of which her boyfriend was in, he looked rough and his ragged. His eyes were extremely dark and swollen which indicated he has cried.

"I'm sorry, baby, I'm sorry," David muttered guiltily, his head lowering to the floors in remorse.

"It's fine, I'm not angry," she said, taking a step towards him and hugged him tightly. "It's fine, darling," she mumbled softly.

Her lone sayings took David surprisingly, he wasn't expecting her immediate forgiveness. He was greatly touched, he felt like crying but he held it all in. He was actually scared, scared of losing his only beloved. A woman he couldn't do without with.

"I have to go now, I'm running late for work," she said, disengaging from the hug.

David twitched his lips verges, he was obviously sad she had to pull away too soon. But then, she was right, she had to leave for work.

"Wont you wait for a little while? Remember, you haven't eaten for a day now," he reminded worriedly.

"I'm not hungry baby, I will pass," she replied delicately but he wasn't convinced.

"I'm worried about you baby, you might get sick, huh?" He naturally told and that earned to her to chuckle to his remark. She knew he was simply troubled about her.

"I don't easily get sick, baby. And besides, I can't fall sick just because I didn't eat for a day, huh? Come on, I'm leaving already, I love you sweetie!" She confessed, pecking his cheeks lovingly.

"I love you more," David mumbled back, in defeat.  Sweetly, he pecks her lips instead before she left the living room.

Rose felt a bit relived, she doesn't know why but that's how she felt as she got to the roadside.

Fortunately enough, she saw a yellow painted cab racing speedily towards her way as it suddenly slows down and stopped right in front of her when she flapped her hands at it.

"Good morning, ma'am!" The driver greeted politely, his head ducking aside to get a proper view of her.

"Good morning, sir!" Rose replied to his unblemished greetings.

She hauled him a soft smiles at him as she promptly pulled the cab door and went in, before the driver took off to her foreseen destination.

★

It was approximately twenty minutes when Rose arrived at Rowan's mansion, she hastily paid the cab driver and hurried inside the vast yard of the mansion.

Thankfully, the securities freely let her in without questioning her presence or something. Her gray eyes landed on the kids when she had took the bridle side of the compound.

They were standing close to the white sparkling car which a few guards stood beside them, they were both dressed in their sky blue uniforms and in their hands, they held their lunchbox.

"Aunty Rose!" Christen cried out happily on catching a glimpse of her entering striding closer  to them.

"Yepieeee!!" Christopher exclaimed on seeing her too, both of the kids excitedly race down to her and engulfed her into a warm hug.

"Oh, my babies!! I missed you both," Rose pouted childishly, her knees crouching on the grounds as she peck both of their cheeks which elicited a playful giggle from them.

"How are you both doing?" She further asked.

"We are fine!" They both chorus in immense euphoria.

"Huh, kids? Where's your dad?" She asked then, her eyes scanning around curiously in search of her boss. Her heart was whacking vigorously at that moment as she felt intensely nervous.

"He's gone to the office, he asked us to wait for you, so you could take us to school," Christine replied and Rose nodded in relaxation as she bite her lips into her mouth.

"Speak for yourself," Christopher snapped annoyingly at his kid sister.

Rose frowned at his remark, she was baffled as she thought, why his sudden mood swing?

"What's wrong kid?" She asked in concern, kicking off the thoughts of her boss as she rested her narrowing thick lashes at him.

Nonetheless, Christen and Christopher kept coldly mute to her query and that made her a kind of uncomfortable likewise curious as to what's wrong with them.

Something is definitely wrong somewhere.

"Aunty Rose, let's go already or we gonna be unpunctual for school," Christine gruffly muttered.

                   ***********************

Somewhere across the city, Eva could be seen crouching on a love shape sofa in her apartment.

Presently, she clenched a stick of brown painted  cigarette between her thumbs before penetrating it into her lips and then, pulled quiet an amount of fog into her mouth.

Through her current mood, you could tell she wasn't in a good state. Originally, she was extremely angry, frustrated and discontented.

She needs to get back her ex husband - Rowan.

Nonetheless, she want her kids back too, yes she wants them and there's a slight chance she'd be getting back into the marriage track with Rowan. The kids are involved in this, they are her only kids into earning him.

To be honest, Rowan is extraordinarily handsome now and extremely vibrant. He's got the fame and everything a woman would want in a man.

Not like she he wasn't like when they had gotten married, in fact a lot of women were envious and jealous of her. But then, something occurred and she had to leave him, for good.

However, she still finds it to believe he'd be richly plentiful after everything that has happened to him.

Oh God! She shouldn't have left but then; it wasn't her fault.

"You don't expect me to ditch a notable, popular rock-star for my underprivileged, impoverished and necesstious husband!" She growls, her expression hardened as she recalled her past life, the past years.

To be truthful, Rowan had truly loved her.  He gave her everything she have ever wished for! Everything her heart desires, he stood besides her to the core and lived never to see her get hurt.

But yet, she speculate that; any other women out there would have done the unruly action she had took when she left him to his fate.

To be candid; she solely took interest in Rowan in the initial spot because he's was the first son of the Hendricks and by rights; he's deemed to be the successor of his wealth.

However, out of blues he was kind cut off for an intention she doesn't seem to know of. Likely to be a family catastrophe... So then, she had to make a run off with her horse, she couldn't keep up in loitering for him to bounce back.

"Rowan..." Eva mumbled, her eyes shutting down as she pictured his heavenly face in her head but someone else got into the picture.

- Xavier Liam, her ex boyfriend and the man she ditched her husband for.

"Xavier has neglected me, he's has solitary failed me, that pretentious bastard," she thundered, standing swiftly to her feet as her eyes grew evilly gloomy.

"After abandoning my husband just to be with him, he cheated on me and fetched in another woman," she grumbles, her left hand fisting tightly as she made to punch the nearest war but abruptly halted.

As is if that wasn't enough, he elope with his new fish after ordering his shields to thrash her out  recklessly like a debris out of his mansion.

She, Eva Marshall -she was big dummy. Xavier has succeed in making her a laughing-stock and she  promise him one thing, he will live to regret this  betrayal. He will breathe to wish undone ever coming across her.

"Well," Eva pulls away from the wall and slumped back to the sofa. "I don't actually don't have his time now; I'm more concerned about earning my sinfully handsome, affluent, knockout ex-husband,"

She chuckled on recalling her plans, it's a secret which she had undertook and no one will ever have an idea about it.

"Rowan, watch your back," she smirked.

"I just have to be spunky about this aim of mine," she added forthwith, strutting from the coach.

"I have made the first step, and now the second step is about roll in... I'm not someone to be mess with, Rowan should know that by now," she chuckled, her legs walking around the mini crystal table.

Slowly,  she seized one final haul from the cigarette before plunging the remnant to the floor. Instantly, she render usage of her foots to mashed it as she  explode the huge smoke into the air.

"Watch your back, my Romeo... You don't know what's coming your way, my dear," she giggled wickedly, a dark sinister laughter erupted boisterously as she held her chest.

"It's more like; using two stones to kill one bird. Let the game begin..."
