Chapter Seven: Shocked

Jian’s POV

The moment she opened the door, I heard the almost silent creak but I decided to keep my eyes shut and listen to what she’d do.

I listened as she creeped into the room, breathing heavily and the urge to open my eyes and let her know I could see her and to even demand what she was doing in my bedroom at this time of the night, was strong but I pressed it down and decided to let my senses lead me.

How I knew it was her? Easy!

She must have had no idea that the guard that had been around that day was only there to escort me to a function, and Greta isn’t a live-in maid. My home is well secured. So, it was just the two of us.

For a moment, I didn’t hear any sounds except the faint smell of her body wash sailing into my nostril but then I felt the shadow cast over my face, blocking the soft glow of the lamp sitting on the nightstand. At this moment, I knew I had to open my eyes but I wasn’t prepared for what I saw.
