Doll stared out the window, watching the clouds sweep across the sky. The lilac-haired no-fur had been on a plane before. But he'd never felt the kinship with the clouds he was feeling now. He'd always been jealous of them. How they could stretch out and turn into anything they wanted. Or ride the wind. The way they were free.

But now, Doll had that kind of freedom.

He took the few minutes while waiting for Hades to return from his chat with the pilot to send some of his aura into the little carved stone cat cradled gently in his hand. It was a gift from Cook, a no-fur who could transform into a tom with auric magick. It was shocking how much his life had changed in so little time. He no longer belonged to a stable run by the seemingly indifferent Liam Martelli, left to be used by a series of cruel bastards who didn't care about him.
