Chapter 17

Waking up on Saturday morning, I listened to the sound of the wind, whistling through the blooming leaves and the bare branches, winding its way through the town. Two days' worth of massive April storms were heading our way, heavy rain, gale-force winds. The spring always seemed to bring with it some of the most intense storms. It was going to be a bad one and we were told we would need to bunker down. The town was making preparations to protect their homes and other buildings, just as a precaution and all activities were put on hold until after the storms had passed.

There was something else brewing, and it was going to hit sooner than we thought.
