Chapter 23
We eventually decided to get up and get dressed for the day, having spent a couple of hours locked in each other's arms unable to stop kissing. James ended up getting me a jumper of his from his wardrobe, as mine was still damp from the crying I did the night before. It was grey, soft and so warm, it also smelled strongly of his scent.
With the storm having passed sooner than we thought, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, we decided to head into the town and see if we could help anyone. Trees were down all over the place, branches and sticks scattered over nearly every inch of the ground. Walking towards the centre, I could see that a couple of houses that were the closest to the forest's edge, were smashed. A tree had landed across them, shattering through the roof, breaking the walls on the upper floors and smashing the windows.

Hello everyone, I wanted to post on here and apologise for not having updated the story this past month. I have been really quite unwell as I suffer with chronic Pancreatitis and I am now on new medication, which has been helping. I have also been taking care my moms 14yr old cat, Tazzy, who has been suffering with kidney stones for a little while, and we were very close to losing him last week. Thankfully he has pulled through and behaves as if nothing ever happened.I will be back to posting soon and I do hope you will all stick around and enjoy it.❤️Thank you for all being patient❤️

Hi everyone!Firstly, I want to sincerely apologise to all of you for not updating the story at all the past 9 months-ish. I have been in and out of hospital for the past year, after suffering with chronic pancreatitis and some other health problems. I haven't had any energy or brainpower to do any writing while I was in hospital or even the times i was discharged but, I have been discharged for the 10th time now, but I'm feeling much better than the last few times I was discharged. I am going to start writing some chapters, hopefully this week, and try to get my head back into the book and the writing. I am then going to start putting out updates again. I don't want to put a time limit or due date on this as I can only be productive when I'm not in any pain.Hopefully, you guys can forgive me. And thank you all for being understanding and so unbelievably kind about the book

The end of the day finally arrived. The anxiety that had steadily built throughout the day had slowly started to dissipate and was being replaced by nerves. I was going to meet my mother at the pack clinic, talk to her about my plan, my idea. I needed to do it now before I lose my nerve. The house became eerily quiet over the next few days. My mother was working non-stop at the clinic, all while organizing our way out of the pack, and trying to keep it secret from everyone around us. And my father had been constantly called away by the Alpha. From what I heard, there had been border breaches from the enemy packs, and it seemed they had been holding meetings and ordering more patrols of the borders. It was Monday, the 8th of March. I was ready and waiting out by the car for my father. I had been early every day since Tuesday last, just so I could keep things civil, somewhat peaceful.
