The Blessed Priestess (Book One) Making it Through
I had pulled myself together and continued with the day as Laura had instructed. It was not as easy had I had thought it would be but once I was received by so many support priestesses it flew by. I just poured myself into helping. First working on decorations, then cleaning, and finally, I had to force myself to get through the food portion. That was by far the most difficult but I just did my best to think of others things. I felt the distinct hinting of my wolf rummaging through my head and starting to put ideas in my head that weren’t there prior. I knew she was becoming more and more powerful throughout the day and I wondered when we would finally be one and what the feelings would be like. Would I know how to control her? Would she be able to control me? I even found myself wondering what her thoughts were about the day. The Blessed Priestess (Book One) Sneaking Away Laura's POV
It was easier than I thought to sneak away as everyone was so busy with preparations that nobody really wanted to go on the grocery run. The grocery run itself was fairly easy as everything was called ahead and ready to pick it up. I had to admit it was one of my favorite things to do as it was the one time I felt like I used to long ago when I was married. I was able to drive a vehicle, listen to my music and just be away from all the tradition and ceremony of every last thing. It was truly exhausting and then there was Kellina. The day was way too long despite his best efforts of trying to relax or forget about Kellina stuck in that stupid house with that instance High Priestess. I hadn’t been able to talk to Laura as long as I’d wanted or gotten enough information to find out what was going on but then again I felt like Laura was trying to be fairly quiet on all of that. I meant what I vowed even though I saw Laura’s face when I said it she was in horror. I knew everyone’s worry that Kellina may not be my mate and I could just be having a strong connection with someone but I doubted that was the case. There was too much between us in such little time. I woke up feeling sore and aching but also feeling like I had slept for days. I wasn’t even sure what day it was but knew I needed to use the restroom so I went to get up but quickly recanted my feet as I saw Laura sleeping on the floor beside me. I had no idea how long it had been but guessing since she slept near me I must have been out of it longer than I had thought. I grabbed my blanket and pulled it off of her wrapping her up the best I could. It was almost 6:00 pm and with the help of all the High Priestess, I had stayed undetected. The day was busy with decorations and it was almost time for me to get ready for the ceremony. The dinner started at 9:00 pm that would be held outside under the moonlight with candles surrounded by the beautiful flowers we had put out in wreaths and garlands around the entire garden. Then I’d imagine there would be a bit of time before the actual ceremony began which would include a lot of rattling on from the High Priestess and the plan was to allow the Alpha himself to speak if he chose to. Finally, I would be stripped down of my clothes, blessed by the moon goddess and then I would for the first time turn into my wolf. It was different having Reese, Laura, and Clara all in my room, primping and adjusting everything on me. I was so used to being alone and throwing on whatever was comfortable but today was not that day. This was the day I met my wolf. I peeked out in the garden and then did another double take. There stood a woman with beautiful fire red curly hair wearing a red dress to boot that fell just below her knees.
