LOGINKatelina’s POV
I raised an eyebrow and dragged my eyes from Kalen to my sister. It pisses me off that I want to rip the h*ll out of her but I couldn’t. She is my sister and now, pregnant with the pack’s heir.
“What? Did I miss something? Would you like me to announce that the pack is having an heir through the pack link now?” I snapped.
Kalen held up his hands placatingly, and stepped in front of my sister in a protective stance. I wanted to scoff. To think it should be the other way around. I am now the bad guy.
“Katelina. The pack doesn’t know.” he said, and I understood.
I nodded my head and gave him a mocking smile.
“Very well. I will send the divorce papers to you within the next two days. Don’t worry, I’ll sign beforehand. And I will resign from being your luna. Effective immediately.” I stated, not taking my eyes off of Kalen.
He looked at me as if my words wounded him, and I wanted to scoff.
“Katelina. It doesn’t have to be like this.” he started but I held up my hand and shook my head.
“I don’t know what’s going on in that head of yours, Kalen, but I think I heard you pretty damn well last night when you were balls deep in my own sister.” I cut my eyes to Coleen who was staring at me.
Her eyes are blank and I don’t see any anger in them. It confuses me for a second before Kalen speaks, and my focus is pulled back towards him.
“You heard wrong. I was going to talk to you about this.” he growled but I ignored him and turned on my heel, heading towards the door.
“There is nothing left to talk about, Kalen. Carry on, don’t let my presence spoil your celebration.” I said, waving a hand without looking at either of them and slid out of the room.
The moment I reached one step out of the door, I rushed out of the hallway.
This morning I should be preparing reports and notices for some Alphas about negotiations and treaties we were meant to discuss together with Kalen. But that is not my duty now. It’s Coleen’s.
I am not his Luna anymore and I need to get that through my head.
Walking out of the pack house, I took a deep breath. The scent of the pack calms me somehow. Children running around with their mothers muttering behind them. The hustle and bustle of the market and different scents of food in the market area hits me with overwhelm.
Walking around, I spent the day speaking and helping out with the community in my pack. I haven’t done so in a while and being that today is the last day I get to spend with them, I knew I would have to make it worth it.
Everyone was kind and good-hearted, as usual. They all acknowledged me as their luna even though I wanted to be part of the pack without a title for once. I figured to just let it be since they will eventually find out I will no longer be luna in a few days. Best not to spoil.
I have been helping out in the orphanage the whole day. The headmistress, Miss Anna, was kind enough to let me stay and have lunch there. After lunch, I helped cleaning up and washed the dishes, which headmistress Anna strongly protested but I insisted. She sighed and eventually gave in, knowing I am not letting up. I told her to get some time off while I played with the little kids for a few more hours. The kids were well-behaved and very obedient, especially since they might be afraid of me because they think I am still luna. But I tried to show them I am just a lady who wants to play and we played rough with the boys. I wanted to enjoy it as much as I can.
I am leaving tomorrow and I am for sure going to miss the pack.
All day I can’t help but remember what happened today. My sister is pregnant. With my mate and husband’s child. Well, my chosen mate’s.
Some people might think this kind of betrayal would hurt less if the other is not your fated mate. No, he was my chosen.
If this pain is supposed to feel less, why does it feel like I am beingg ripped apart from the inside out?
And if this pain doesn’t even come close to a betrayal from a fated mate, then I want no part of it anymore. Mate or not.
I will never love like that anymore. t?
“Luna! Luna!” I turned my head to see a little Sammy padding up to me with a big smile on his face. He is a golden-haired boy with violet eyes. To be honest, he kind of reminded me of Kalen. He looked just like him when we were little.
I brushed off the thought and opened my arms for him to crash into. Sammy is the most active and playful child in the orphanage, so I am used to it when he crashes into me and almost makes me double over backwards.
A squeal left my lips as I caught him in my arms. He giggled and I attacked him with tickles aiming for his armpits and little tummy.
“Luna, luna stop!” he squealed and I grin like a cheshire cat before pretending to tackle him again. But I stopped.
“What is it, Sammy?” I furrowed my brows together, staring at the little boy in my arms.
He looked frightened, and he looked up at me with his big, violet eyes.
“Al… coming.”
I couldn’t hear what he said.
“What?” I leaned down so I could hear his voice a little bit clearer. I heard him gulp, and he leaned into my ear.
“Alpha is coming.” He whispered.
The next moment the front door suddenly burst open with a thud, startling the kids sending them screaming off when his aura shook everyone to a standstill.
“Stop! You are hurting them!” I screamed at none other than Kalen, who was standing at the door glaring at everyone before his eyes landed on me.
“Katelina!” he growled, and his eyes are red they are almost black. I can’t tell if he is angry or about to shift. Probably in between because I have never seen him act in this way.
Then I snap back to my senses and looked around. All the kids are trembling in fear and they have frozen in the exact same spots they were before he burst in.
My eyes widened and I snapped my head to Kalen.
“Drop your aura!” I growled and marched towards him but he huffed.
“Only if you come with me first.” he said, and I stared at him in disbelief.
“Are you insane? Drop your aura. They are just pups!” I shrieked and looked around.
I turned to face him then a cold realization washed over me. He is not letting them go.
I gritted my teeth and walked up to him then past him.
Immediately, I heard sighs of relief and I knew he had dropped his aura the minute I stepped out. I walked towards the packhouse, feeling his footsteps following closely behind me.
What the f*ck is his problem? I had no interest finding out. I am just beyond irritated that he interrupted the last moments I am going to have with the children in the orphanage.
Stepping into the hallway, I feel a large hand grab and swing me around. Before I knew it, I am shoved in a dark room right before a door closes and I am now face to face with my ex-mate and soon to be ex-husband.
“What are you doing?!” I snarled.
He is glaring daggers at me and I could see smoke steaming out from his ears and nose.
“Kalen let me go!” I demand but to my surprise, he does the exact opposite when he pushed me against the wall. His one hand grabbed both my wrists and yanked them above my head. Before I can even ask what the h*ll he is doing, he kissed me roughly on the lips leaving me stunned.
He groaned and I stood there confused and irritated at the same time.
Then his hand suddenly slipped inside my pants and I finally wake up.
SLAP!!!
Chapter 9EliasJudging from the increasingly cold atmosphere and his silence, I am guessing he had no clue.“Excuse me?” he said slowly.“You heard me.” I raised my hand just as Roger handed me the contract.“What is the meaning of this?” Oh, he’s getting riled up. Good. That means he is showing me his true self. And that black aura surrounding him is growing bigger, almost enveloping him.I haven’t seen that color in anyone’s scent for a long time now. There were other times, and each time, those people ended up with their hearts beating in my hand, before I crushed them into a pulp.Tossing the contract with Beta Kyson’s signature on it and mine to the moron, I sensed him grab it in mid-air.“Read it. It has everything you need to know about my deal with Kyson.” I heard shuffling of papers. Now I am getting bored. Do I really have to deal with this insignificant pr*ck when I have better things to be doing?‘Like what?’ Warrick scoffed.I think about it for a second.‘You have co
Kalen’s wolf (Rabi)When I was mindlinked by my warriors that a sleek black SUV passed the borders unannounced, I was on my way to shift and have my own pound of flesh from anyone who dared to trespass my territory. This is what happens when you have a weak Alpha. It allows other packs and even rogues to belittle your authority that they are not even afraid of crossing the line.Kalen had his shot, and I gave him plenty of chances to change his tactics and focus on becoming the greatest Alpha we were meant to be. Instead, he had turned himself into pointless affairs with many women without our luna’s knowledge. Coleen wasn’t even the only one he was f*cking around with. It had gotten worse to a point it made me s*ck. With Kalen sticking his d*ck into the first b*tch he sees as his first priority, I knew things needed to change. The first step needed would be to get rid of the human. If only I could, but if he dies, then so will I, unfortunately. He is merely asleep, and once he reali
The next day in the Blood Dawn Pack territory…Alpha Elias BaneThe smell of morning dew and fresh grass filling my nose told me it is nearly dawn. Yet, I don’t sense anything from the borders to indicate anyone is coming. Not one movement apart from the guards doing their usual patrol rounds. My jaw ticked in irritation at the late arrival. It is bad enough I had to choose a luna. No she-wolf can match my wolf, Warrick, in this lifetime or the next. No one was every worthy, not even my mate. Some sorry excuse for a luna who I was more than happy to kill. And now I am feeling that same willingness to take someone’s pathetic little life with the amount of time I had been standing here, waiting as I listen to any sound of tires screeching near our gates. Still, there was nothing.“Alpha, I received an update from the spies we planted in the Shadow Moon Pack.” Roger, my loyal beta, informed.I turned my head slightly but made no effort in looking up. It was pointless anyway. I know exac
Katelina’s POVI struggled beneath him and fought as hard as I could, but in the end he forced himself inside me. My wolf whimpered and we were powerless against him. His aura was stronger than anything else. I always knew Kalen had a strong wolf, but now I know the reason why he never lets him out. He is worse than death.I tried mindlinking my Dad, but it was no use. Dad never mindlinked back. It felt like he blocked me but that was impossible.Tears rolled down from my eyes endlessly, even after he was done and stood, gathering his clothes.“Get dressed. You are still my wife and luna. As for your insubordinate father, don’t worry about linking him.” My eyes flew open and I shot up, glaring daggers at him.“What have you done?”He turned around and looked at me with a bored expression on his face.“I stripped him off his position and is serving time in the cells.” he said casually and I looked up at him, shocked and in disbelief.“What?” my voice came out a mere whisper.“Oh don’t
Katelina’s POVThe sound of my hand connecting to his face rang in the air and across the room. The impact must have been so strong that it forced Kalen’s head towards the far right, and it stayed there for a couple of seconds before he slowly turns it to look right back at me.In the darkness, I switched into my night vision with the help of my wolf. When I did, I gasped at the sight facing me.Kalen’s eyes are black as charcoal, indicating his wolf is with us now.His lip pulled back into a snarl making me jump a few steps back. The aura emanating off of him is intense. This is the first time I have ever felt him act like this or even exude such a pressure.“I am done with your disrespect, Katelina.” he snarled, glaring holes into me. At this moment, my instincts are going haywire, and I realized I am in danger.I turned around ignoring him and aimed for the door, walking as fast as I can. It seems it only fueled his anger because before my hands reach the doorknob, my body is slamm
