LOGINKatelina’s POV
“The blind Alpha?!”
No. It can’t be.
He nodded and looked down at his hands. Pain flashed in his eyes as I looked at him in utter disbelief.
“No!” I screamed, standing up from my seat.
“I can’t marry him!” I yelled, incredulous.
He snapped his head up and looked at me, an apologetic look in his eyes.
“It’s already arranged. You are to leave in the next three days.” he said, and I just stared at him unable to contain my shock, before my anger surged.
“HOW COULD YOU?!” I screamed, staring at my father with tears streaming from my eyes.
He stood up and placed his hands on my shoulders, but I shrug them away and took a step back from him.
I can’t believe this.
“I did it because I have no other choice. I can’t just stand by and watch you suffer. Not anymore.” he said, his eyes pleading.
I cut my eyes to the floor, practically glaring at it and wishing for it to just open up and swallow me hole.
I heard a sigh before two brawny arms wrapped around me. Dad pulled me into his chest and sighed.
“It is the only way.” he whispered to me while I began to shake and sobbed into his chest. He held me the entire time and after some time of comforting me, he left.
His words still rang in my head.
“Alpha Elias is not the kind of man everyone thinks.” he said, and I let go of him looking up into his eyes.
“What do you mean?”
Everyone knows Alpha Elias of the Blood Dawn Pack. His pack is ranked the strongest and most powerful pack among us all. But no one dares to mess with him. Not after what happened with his mate.
“He killed his mate. How can you expect me to marry him and be his wife?” I asked, unable to think through my dad’s thought process.
“Katelina enough!” Dad retorted, and I blinked at him, unable to believe this is happening.
He looked at me, and the more anxious I got, the more I can feel myself fading away.
He sighed and took my hand.
“I know the rumors would make you afraid of him. I have met him and I assure you he is not the monster everyone paints him to be.” Dad tried to assure me, but I just stared at him blankly.
He can’t expect me to believe any of it. Everyone is saying the same thing, out of their own experience during their encounter with him.
They even believed his blindness was caused by a curse. He wasn’t blind at all until after he killed his mate. Everyone thinks the moon goddess placed him under a curse, and somehow that made him even more ruthless.
The gates to his pack closed after that. No one is allowed in or out of his pack without his supreme decision.
How on earth am I going to get married to a guy like that?
“Just trust me, Katelina. Do you trust me?” Dad asked, tilting my chin up to look at him.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and nodded.
“I do.” I said.
His eyes softened and he wrapped me again in his arms, and I coiled into his chest.
“Remember. Three days.” He said before he left.
I slumped on my bed and curled my body into a fetus. Hopefully, I can get some sleep to escape this reality that is slowly turning into a nightmare.
Alpha Elias… huh?
I closed my eyes, trying to get some sleep. But I don’t get much sleep after an hour of blinking into the ceiling.
The next morning I get up feeling like I have bags for eyes. When I looked into the mirror, I was right. Dark circles lined below my eyes and my appearance made me look 10 years older. My hair is flat on my head.
I sighed and turned away from the mirror. Stepping into the shower, I turned on the tap. The water is cold and I didn’t feel like turning the heater up. The coldness pouring down on me matches the storm brewing deep inside. So I let it shower me like rain in a thunderstorm.
I couldn’t stop thinking about last night. I can’t believe Dad would arrange something like this. He had always let me choose who to marry, who to love. Although he intially disapproved of my marriage with Kalen, I convinced him that I loved him and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Obviously, I was wrong. But Dad eventually said yes saying that if it makes me happy, I should follow my heart.
Sighing, I stepped out of the shower and put on a shirt and jogging pants. I don’t bother dressing up. Kalen always told me I didn’t have to, so I never did.
I walked into the hallway, wanting to get some fresh air and think about everything that happened.
I stopped a few meters short when I realized I was heading towards the Alpha office, which was just across mine when I heard familiar voices.
“Oh Kalen, this is such good news!” a squeal came from the other side of the door, and I cringed. That tone and voice. It definitely belonged to my sister, Coleen.
I wanted to turn around, move, but I can’t seem to get out of my spot. Instead, my body seems to be stuck.
I hear a gasp and the sound of objects being moved around and my feet take a step forward.
“No way. Coleen. Is it true?” Kalen asked, causing a pang in my heart.
I came closer. The door had been left ajar, so I could see a little bit.
Kalen had Coleen pinned on his desk. Her thighs spread and his back towards the door, as my sister wrapped her hands around his neck. The sight made my wolf tremble in rage and jealousy. I knew I shouldn’t, but we can’t help it. We have loved Kalen since we were pups.
“Yes, you’re going to be a daddy!” my sister squealed, while Kalen went silent for a second before picking him up in his arms bridal style and spinning her around. The sight made pierced my heart and my stomach sank.
I lifted my hand and placed it on my lower belly, remembering the doctor’s words when we found out.
“I’m sorry, luna. But… you can’t… have a child.” The doctor had said, unable to look at me in the eye.
I said nothing to him after that examination. I stood up, nodded my head, and left.
My wolf howled and I cried, hating myself for not being able to bear Kalen a child.
Something he always wanted.
But now. Now it is coming true. Just not with me.
“Goddess, I have an heir!” Kalen exclaimed, spinning a laughing Coleen around happily. I can see it on his face, and my heart ached even more.
For a second in time, I could have sworn Coleen’s eyes cut to me, before she pulled Kalen in for a deep, passionate kiss. Kalen kissed her back, just as passionately, and I could hear my heart ripping apart.
‘Let’s go. We need to go.’ Kalissa cried deep inside, but I stood still. I refuse to run away after this.
So, pushing the door open it creaked, I smile as both of the people whom I considered most dear, snapped their eyes to me.
And despite the tears welling behind my eyes, I smiled.
“Congratulations.”
Coleen gasped, while Kalen’s eyes widened before he dropped my sister to her feet. She landed with a thud, and it made my brow twitch at the thought she is carrying a baby.
My eyes landed on Kalen, who stared at me in regret and guilt in his green eyes.
“Katelina…”
Chapter 9EliasJudging from the increasingly cold atmosphere and his silence, I am guessing he had no clue.“Excuse me?” he said slowly.“You heard me.” I raised my hand just as Roger handed me the contract.“What is the meaning of this?” Oh, he’s getting riled up. Good. That means he is showing me his true self. And that black aura surrounding him is growing bigger, almost enveloping him.I haven’t seen that color in anyone’s scent for a long time now. There were other times, and each time, those people ended up with their hearts beating in my hand, before I crushed them into a pulp.Tossing the contract with Beta Kyson’s signature on it and mine to the moron, I sensed him grab it in mid-air.“Read it. It has everything you need to know about my deal with Kyson.” I heard shuffling of papers. Now I am getting bored. Do I really have to deal with this insignificant pr*ck when I have better things to be doing?‘Like what?’ Warrick scoffed.I think about it for a second.‘You have co
Kalen’s wolf (Rabi)When I was mindlinked by my warriors that a sleek black SUV passed the borders unannounced, I was on my way to shift and have my own pound of flesh from anyone who dared to trespass my territory. This is what happens when you have a weak Alpha. It allows other packs and even rogues to belittle your authority that they are not even afraid of crossing the line.Kalen had his shot, and I gave him plenty of chances to change his tactics and focus on becoming the greatest Alpha we were meant to be. Instead, he had turned himself into pointless affairs with many women without our luna’s knowledge. Coleen wasn’t even the only one he was f*cking around with. It had gotten worse to a point it made me s*ck. With Kalen sticking his d*ck into the first b*tch he sees as his first priority, I knew things needed to change. The first step needed would be to get rid of the human. If only I could, but if he dies, then so will I, unfortunately. He is merely asleep, and once he reali
The next day in the Blood Dawn Pack territory…Alpha Elias BaneThe smell of morning dew and fresh grass filling my nose told me it is nearly dawn. Yet, I don’t sense anything from the borders to indicate anyone is coming. Not one movement apart from the guards doing their usual patrol rounds. My jaw ticked in irritation at the late arrival. It is bad enough I had to choose a luna. No she-wolf can match my wolf, Warrick, in this lifetime or the next. No one was every worthy, not even my mate. Some sorry excuse for a luna who I was more than happy to kill. And now I am feeling that same willingness to take someone’s pathetic little life with the amount of time I had been standing here, waiting as I listen to any sound of tires screeching near our gates. Still, there was nothing.“Alpha, I received an update from the spies we planted in the Shadow Moon Pack.” Roger, my loyal beta, informed.I turned my head slightly but made no effort in looking up. It was pointless anyway. I know exac
Katelina’s POVI struggled beneath him and fought as hard as I could, but in the end he forced himself inside me. My wolf whimpered and we were powerless against him. His aura was stronger than anything else. I always knew Kalen had a strong wolf, but now I know the reason why he never lets him out. He is worse than death.I tried mindlinking my Dad, but it was no use. Dad never mindlinked back. It felt like he blocked me but that was impossible.Tears rolled down from my eyes endlessly, even after he was done and stood, gathering his clothes.“Get dressed. You are still my wife and luna. As for your insubordinate father, don’t worry about linking him.” My eyes flew open and I shot up, glaring daggers at him.“What have you done?”He turned around and looked at me with a bored expression on his face.“I stripped him off his position and is serving time in the cells.” he said casually and I looked up at him, shocked and in disbelief.“What?” my voice came out a mere whisper.“Oh don’t
Katelina’s POVThe sound of my hand connecting to his face rang in the air and across the room. The impact must have been so strong that it forced Kalen’s head towards the far right, and it stayed there for a couple of seconds before he slowly turns it to look right back at me.In the darkness, I switched into my night vision with the help of my wolf. When I did, I gasped at the sight facing me.Kalen’s eyes are black as charcoal, indicating his wolf is with us now.His lip pulled back into a snarl making me jump a few steps back. The aura emanating off of him is intense. This is the first time I have ever felt him act like this or even exude such a pressure.“I am done with your disrespect, Katelina.” he snarled, glaring holes into me. At this moment, my instincts are going haywire, and I realized I am in danger.I turned around ignoring him and aimed for the door, walking as fast as I can. It seems it only fueled his anger because before my hands reach the doorknob, my body is slamm
Katelina’s POVI raised an eyebrow and dragged my eyes from Kalen to my sister. It pisses me off that I want to rip the h*ll out of her but I couldn’t. She is my sister and now, pregnant with the pack’s heir.“What? Did I miss something? Would you like me to announce that the pack is having an heir through the pack link now?” I snapped.Kalen held up his hands placatingly, and stepped in front of my sister in a protective stance. I wanted to scoff. To think it should be the other way around. I am now the bad guy.“Katelina. The pack doesn’t know.” he said, and I understood.I nodded my head and gave him a mocking smile.“Very well. I will send the divorce papers to you within the next two days. Don’t worry, I’ll sign beforehand. And I will resign from being your luna. Effective immediately.” I stated, not taking my eyes off of Kalen. He looked at me as if my words wounded him, and I wanted to scoff.“Katelina. It doesn’t have to be like this.” he started but I held up my hand and sho
