Brandon sat in the waiting room, hands trembled on his lap as he waited for the doctor to come out of the ER. After what happened at the safe house, Brandon rushed Celeste to the ER because her eyes were bleeding, and he didn't know what to do as he listened to her moaning in pain with blood tears rolled down her cheeks.
Rushing her to the ER seemed like the right thing to do. Now, here he was—sitting nervously and waiting for the doctor. Brandon felt like he wanted to barge in and demanded answers, but he kept himself calm. He wouldn't be able to think straight if his emotions got in the way. He was supposed to feel scared and everything because Celeste was his mate, but Brandon couldn't do that now. He had to stay calm and think rationally. Many lives depended on him.
