I knock on Harper's door with the back of my hand and wait for an answer. Yet none comes, making me wonder if Harper is really in there.

This can't go on. Whatever Harper is thinking, she's wrong because none of what happened was her fault. I know Harper well enough to know that she's in some way blaming herself for my abduction.

I sigh when I still get no answer, but I won’t give up. If Harper is in there, I’ll find out; that’s why I twist the doorknob. Luckily, the door isn’t locked, so I walk inside and close the door behind me.
