Chapter 66: Who is Dee?

Nick freezes at the door for a moment, his face twisting into a scowl, his gaze zeroing in on Melissa. Then he snaps out of his daze and storms in.

He shoves Melissa aside, not caring if she falls.

"How dare you hit her?" He roars. "How dare you?"

Melissa steadies herself against the bed and straightens. She looks at Nick in disbelief, her face a mask of immense shock.

"You pushed me." She whispers, like she can't believe it. "You put your hands on me, Nick."

"I'll do more than that if you ever lay a hand on Adriana." Nick retorts. "You do not put your hands on the woman I love."

My entire body stiffens suddenly. Nick's words echo in my ears, repeatedly, until it feels like my ears are ringing with it.

I look up at him in surprise, confusion, shock. Every emotion goes through my face as I stare at him. Did he just confess his love for me?

From the bed, Ryan sits up. Apparently, the fact that Nick confessed his feelings for me doesn't sit well with him.
