The next morning,i woke up to a commotion outside my room. It faintly sounded like a whiplash. I struggled to get up from the bed and slowly took steps towards the bedroom door..It took me a while but i was finally able to get there. When i opened the door, everything i had been hearing became so much clearer.

"I'm sorry Alpha. I shouldn't have disobeyed your instructions-" I heard someone plead as more sounds of lashing got louder. I didn't know what it was about but i thought the voice was really familiar. I dragged my feet on the ground until i reached the grand staircase. The house was really huge had it not been for the voices i was following, i would've gotten lost.

"Exactly. Why didn't you?" Ryder asked before i heard more lashing. I knew how it felt so i felt really bad for the one that was on the receiving end. What motivated me to keep going was the fear that it might be one of my people.

My people.

I took another step down the stairs, wincing in pain as i do. I made it down and by the time i got to the last step, i was sweating profusely. I used the wall to support myself until i got to an opening where Ryder sat with a cigar between his fingers. In Front of him was a display of something being flogged. I couldn't get his face at first.

"What did i say?" Ryder demanded, calmly. He moved his hand to his ashtray and that's when he noticed me. His intense eyes locked on mine and i could immediately tell that he was angry from the way his nostrils flared up.

"Fucking hell" Ryder cursed as he roughly pressed the cigar on his ash tray until it was out. He grabbed his drink and finished it in one sip before he stood up.

"Take him away. He's not allowed to participate in anything until he's learnt his lesson," Ryder instructed but even then, he didn't pull his eyes away from mine even for a second.

When the man that had been punished was helped up, i recognized him immediately. It was one of the Alphas that had been leading up to the Silver moon pack. The one that had been hitting me. I only looked at him for a second before Ryder blocked my view when he came in front of him. I tilted my head to the side and gasped when i saw his bloody back. He had been whipped so much that his shirt was torn.

"What are you doing out of bed?" Ryder asked when he finally had my attention. I looked into his eyes and i remember his warning last night.

"I was...just hungry," I said and i saw his strained facial expression soften.

"Someone's already making breakfast for you. You shouldn't be moving" Ryder said before he leaned down and carried me in his arms. He carried me up the stairs and i looked down at the door. I wanted to go out but right now, there was nothing more i could do.

With a defeated sigh, i looked away and my eyes fell on Ryder's side face. He was just as handsome as he was, probably even more handsome than i remembered.

"Like what you're seeing?" Ryder asked and i snapped out of whatever trance i was in.

"What?" I asked but my cheeks burned at the realization that i had been caught staring.

Ryder could only smirk before he took the last step up and walked to his bedroom. He placed me back on the bed just as a middle aged woman came in with a tray of food.

I watched as she placed the food and Ryder took it.

"Thank you Mary," Ryder said quietly. The woman glanced over at me then at Ryder before she excused herself.

My eyes were on Ryder as he grabbed the soup and blew on the scoop he had filled. "What?" Ryder asked and i rubbed the back of my neck nervously.

"My hands are alright. I can eat myself-" I said and Ryder looked at me with a blank expression.

"I know. Just shut up and eat-" he replied. I opened my mouth and let him feed me. This felt nice. It was almost the way they were before when Ryder was taking care of him.

"I want some meat too," I said, with my eyes fixed on the bowl Ryder was holding. He fed me a piece and i smiled.

"Ryder!!! Ryder!!" I looked up when i heard a feminine voice yelling Ryder's name. My eyes were on the door as the voice drew closer. Once the voice manifested a face, i frowned.

"Ryder. Why have the rouges been housed and even--" The woman trailed off when she barged into the room and saw Ryder feeding me. She didn't look pleased.

"Lexi. I told you to knock before you come into my room. How long do i need to remind you of this?" Ryder groaned out.

"Eat. Your breakfast is getting cold," Ryder instructed and i opened my mouth.

"Who's this? One of the rogues?" She asked and i sighed softly.

"Ryder. She's??--" I asked and Ryder looked into my eyes.

"Lexi, this is Zed. Zed..." Ryder trailed off and grabbed a napkin. He wiped at the corner of my mouth. "This is Lexi..."

Lexi smiled and placed her hand on Ryder's shoulder.

"I'm his fiancé" she said quite happily.

"Fiancé?" I asked in shock while looking at Ryder. He didn't flinch. Not even for a moment. Instead, he smirked.

What a jerk!

"And you and Ryder, what are you--" Lexi asked and Ryder's eyes lit up.

"He's going to be out new servant" Ryder declared and my jaw dropped.

Indeed, a jerk!

"Don't...stop!"Maybe Ryder had been right. Maybe i was jealous and that is why we were both out here. I knew Ryder wanted me but a bigger part of him was still holding onto their unresolved past. I knew how things could go very wrong if we ended up fucking but i still asked him to keep going. Ryder hovered over me, his eyes darkened, pupils dilated and his breathing hard against my skin. His nose pressed up against mine, rubbing at it softly before he brushed his fingers against my cheek. My eyelids fluttered slightly before i leaned up in an attempt to brush my lips on his again. When i opened my eyes, Ryder was staring down at me, dangerously so as if i was a prey he was savoring before pouncing on. His finger tips grazed my jaw, slow and deliberate before moving down to my neck. Despite Ryder trying to be gentle, i could feel the struggle within him, if the way his hand wrapped around my neck was taken into account. This wasn't an alpha that wanted to fuck me. He wanted to own me

{Zed's Pov} I couldn't think about anything apart from my kiss with Ryder. I watched him walk away, leaving me reminiscing about his lips on mine. The kiss was raw, needy, desperate but very sweet nonetheless. We were never that intimate before but this wasn't our first kiss either. Ryder had left a tingling sensation on my lips, a reminder of some promise. A promise of what was to come tonight. I smiled softly and turned around to go back when i saw Liam, standing by the entrance of the house, watching me. From the expression on his face, it was quite obvious he had seen what had transpired between Ryder and i. "Not sleeping with him, huh?" He asked and i sighed, at a loss. I didn't have an excuse. An explanation as to why i was kissing the man i said i had no relationship to merely minutes before. "Liam--" I called out his name softly. "No. You are full of shit. You're sleeping with the man that killed your father and brother. Have you no shame at all?" Liam asked and i

{Ryder's Pov} I told him i wanted to fuck him. Although i only intended to scare him into staying in my room, my heart skipped a beat when i saw Zed walking out of my house. He still looked as precious as he did back then. The way his eyebrows knitted together or the puzzled expression he had on his face when he couldn't figure things out. I anticipated seeing Zed again but i didn't think it would affect me this much. I was supposed to hate him, to make him pay for rejecting me but like a stubborn dog, i simply wag my tail whenever i'm close to him. I wanted him. Not just physically. I wanted Zed in ways i couldn't understand. His love. His loyalty. His utmost devotion. I wanted Zed to want me in the same way i wanted him. "You know, it's so much easier if you told him how you really felt-" I looked away from the window and away from Zed limping away to see Charlie had walked into the room. It was obvious he had been observing me for a while now, if that ridiculous smirk he had

There was nothing to think about, that was quite evident with how fast i walked out of that door as soon as Ryder left. It wasn't a matter of giving into Ryder's demands or anything, at least not for me. I had so many people to put first. Like Austin who was lifeless the last time i saw him. As i made my way back down, all i could think about was everyone's safety. As far as i was aware, they were the only family i had left. True to Ryder's words, nobody had stopped me. If anything, they acted as if i was invisible. Invisibility is good. Or so i thought. I did ask around about where the rouges stayed. For one, i was relieved that they weren't kept in dungeons. Those filthy and cold dungeons we were bundled in when they brought us in. It was a relief that was only short-lived when i saw where the remaining members of what used to be my pack stayed. Ruins. Nobody was in sight when i walked into what seemed to have been a compound. The residence wasn't far out but it wasn't very clo

My heart was in my hands while i watched Austin fight not just for himself but the rest of us who couldn't. I've watched Austin grow since he was a little child when his family first joined the Red Blades pack. He was an exceptional fighter but Ryder's were better. I knew. Ryder knew. Everyone knew.It was like fate had decided to deal with me first hand. Ever since the battle, it had been blow after blow. First my father died by the man i have loved for years, being homeless and now this. My fate was Ryder. He was the weapon being used to deal with me. "No...no...stop!" I screamed when Austin started to take blow after blow. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the fight. Everyone but us. Ryder? I wasn't sure. He wasn't looking at the fight. He was looking right at me, watching my every expression. A predator, toying with his prey. I felt like that. Like a piece of unwanted meat was being kept because the predator wasn't ready to eat yet. My eyes fluttered while i looked at Ryder. The fi

My eyes fluttered closed when the towel hit my face. I didn't bother to grab it and instead, watched Ryder's back as he walked out to the bathroom. His bitch? What did that even mean? I didn't think there was so much hostility between me and Ryder. Not to this point where he'd insult me and degrade me just to feel better about himself. My fists were clenched when i thought about how Ryder had spoken to him. I followed Ryder from the bathroom to his bedroom. He was cleaning after me. Seeing him do the opposite of what Ryder had just told me only angered me even more. When he straightened the sheets, i grabbed them and ripped them from the bed and tossed them on the floor. Ryder ignored me at first but i didn't make it easier for him, instead, i grabbed one of the pillows and hit him with it. "Zed--" he called out, resigned and annoyed. I wasn't having any of it. "You are a vile person Ryder. A heartless monster and one with a very filthy mouth-" I said and Ryder closed the distanc
