The Bride He Killed

Stephanie's POV

“You won't even give me something so simple?” Nathaniel asked in annoyance, slamming his hand on the wall beside me and I flinched in fear.

“You know I would do anything to make you happy, Nathan. Just not this…” I pleaded, taking his hand but he pulled away immediately. “I'm not ready to lose my virginity yet. Not when I'm not yet married to you. It's a pact I made with myself.” I added and he snorted in annoyance.

“We're engaged. We're about to be married. Why is it so hard to just get on the fucking bed and let me fuck you?” He asked, his voice cold and annoyed, and I played with my fingers nervously.

How was I supposed to explain to him that I didn't want him to run from me if he saw what was underneath these baggy clothes I wore? I wasn't slender. Neither was I the prettiest lady out there. I had stretch marks. I had folds on my stomach and back.

I was so chubby that even my parents called me a fatty and claimed that they didn't give birth to me. I was afraid that if he saw how imperfect I was, he would abandon me and call off the wedding.

“Exactly. We'll be married soon… Can't you just be patient till then?” I pleaded once more, reaching for his hand and he walked away, a frustrated sigh leaving his lips.

“Fine. Have it your way.” He muttered and left the room, slamming the door behind him. I let out a sigh as I sank into the bed, my mind spinning with thoughts.

Should I just give in to him? I was an inexperienced virgin. I didn't want to make him mad but I was also scared of how he would react since he had never seen me naked before.

I really wish I could lose weight. I have tried exercising but my heart problems made it impossible to do cardio. I couldn't run or jump for long, or else I would end up in the hospital. I couldn't watch my diet either because I had the worst eating disorder and I would only end up returning to my roots in less than a day. I hated that I had no way to get rid of my insecurities.

A soft knock on the door had me jolting and I muttered for whoever it was to come in. The door opened and Selena walked in, a soft smile on her face.

“Hey, are you okay?” I heard her ask as she walked in and I blinked back the tears that had formed in my eyes. I shot her a small smile as she sat beside me, taking my hand.

“Nathan just left the house angry. Did something happen? You know whenever he's in a bad mood, I suffer the most. Perks of being my brother's secretary.” She muttered, a frustrated look on her face and I let out a sigh.

Selena was the only one who didn't make me uncomfortable here, and I was grateful that she didn't treat me like the others.

“The usual, Selena. He doesn't want to wait till the wedding and I'm not ready yet. I'm not ready at all.” I whispered softly and she gently rubbed my hand, a pitiful expression on her face.

“Nathan has always been like that. Impatient. And he's a man so it's understandable. But don't worry, I'll talk to him for you.” She reassured me and I let out a sigh of relief. “But tell me, why are you so scared of having sex with him?”

I hesitated for a moment, not knowing if I should tell her the truth. But I trusted her a lot so I stood up and raised my shirt just a bit. She caught sight of my big stomach and the folds that decorated it before looking up at me with indifference.

“So? You're scared he won't like it?” She asked and I nodded with a sigh. “Nathan likes you as you are, Steph. He likes ‘em thick anyway. You're perfect. Trust me.” She muttered and I looked at her with a glint of hope in my eyes.

“Really? He wouldn't care?” I asked and she nodded with a smile on her lips.

“What are you worried about? You're chubby, you didn't kill a damn general.” She muttered, patting my shoulder gently and I couldn't help the relief that flooded me. “I gotta go. Secretary duty calls.” She whispered with a grin and rushed out while I let out a soft breath.

I made up my mind. I would give in to Nathan tonight and let him take my virginity. I smiled to myself as I turned when I noticed that Selena had left her phone behind. I rushed out after her but she had already driven out of the house.

I could use a drive anyway.

I got into the car and paused to catch my breath, cursing my weight under my breath as I drove to the office. Getting there, Selena was nowhere to be found, but one of the staff informed me that she was with the CEO in a board meeting, so I had to wait behind.

“I’ll wait for them upstairs. You don't have to worry.” I said to her, and she tried to stop me, making me stare at her in confusion. “Nathaniel is my fiancé. Selena is my sister-in-law. I can walk in anytime to see them and you can't stop me.” I ordered and brushed past her before she could stop me again.

The elevator opened and just as I stepped in, I bumped into a hard figure that had me stumbling backward. His hand reached out and caught mine just before I fell. With one swift pull, he pulled me to him, and my eyes widened when I stared up at him.

I knew him. He was Nathaniel's cousin and God, he was beautiful.

“I'm sorry. Watch where you go.” He muttered and let me go before stepping out. He didn't even let me thank him and before I could step out, the elevator door closed. I would have to thank him some other time.

I made my way to Nathan's office, whistling gently to my favorite song. I raised my hand to turn the door knob, when I heard moaning sounds and I stiffened, my hand hanging in the air.

“You couldn't wait till I showed up, huh? You want to fuck me so bad?”

I frowned because that voice sounded too familiar.

“Fuck, I need your pretty pussy. Right now.” Nathaniel's voice rang out as the sound of smacking echoed and I slapped my hand over my mouth in shock.

“Why? Your big chubby girlfriend couldn't give you what you needed?” The lady muttered with a giggle and a tear ran down my left cheek.

“That bitch is so useless. She's big and good for nothing. I can't even fuck her and dump her. I wouldn't have agreed to marry her if I wasn't after her stupid inheritance” He responded, replaced with a groan and soft moans.

I could hear skin slapping against skin, and my hand trembled as I reached for the doorknob. My fiancé was cheating on me because I refused to sleep with him.

I managed to push the door open and stepped in, my face already stained with tears. The moment I walked in, my eyes widened at the sight in front of me and I almost couldn't believe my eyes.

“How could you?”
