Robin’s POV

“What do we do now?” I asked as we were escorted out of the Origin pack, guards trailing behind us.

My wolf was practically dancing around, satisfied from seeing Julian, but me, on the other hand, I was plagued with worry. Not to mention that I lied to him about what the men of the shadows asked us to do. We were leaving them behind now, and we had no plan whatsoever on how to save them.

Robin’s POV “What do we do now?” I asked as we were escorted out of the Origin pack, guards trailing behind us. My wolf was practically dancing around, satisfied from seeing Julian, but me, on the other hand, I was plagued with worry. Not to mention that I lied to him about what the men of the shadows asked us to do. We were leaving them behind now, and we had no plan whatsoever on how to save them. Do we go back to the Awoke pack and ask their Aries for help? Would we even make it back in time? Could we save them before midnight the next day, when they threatened to take one life? All those thoughts filled my head with each step away from the pack that we took. “Let’s get out of here first before we speak,” Damon said, looking a lot more composed than I was. I nodded softly as we finally made it to the gate. “You’re on your own from now on,” one guard said, and another tossed a map our way. “Here are the directions to their house,” he added before turning away and walking of

We spent the whole night trying our best to look for the source of the fog like we talked about, but we found absolutely nothing that was even capable of serving as a source. The cell was not that big, so we had limited space to actually search, but still, we didn’t find a thing. All Lucian was able to notice was that the fog seemed to be spreading from beneath the cell, so probably through an underground source or something.None of us even bothered sleeping a wink. I wasn’t sure about the others, but even without being able to feel my wolf, I was still so unsettled whenever I thought of Robin. I knew we had only been separated for a day, but that didn’t stop me from yearning for him—especially now that we had no idea how in the world we were going to get out of here.I had talked about finding the men of the shadows and ending them, but here I was in their pack, locked in a prison and unable to do a single thing. If that wasn’t just pathetic, then I didn’t know what was.“What do we

Robin’s POVI was speechless—not because I didn’t have what to say, but because I was agitated. My hands gripped the edge of the table as their words sank in. Was this exactly what they told Julian when they got him to kill the first Elders? So ruining his life was not enough—they were still not satisfied yet, and they had the audacity to ask us to finish their dirty work.My grip on the table tightened as I tried to hold in my temper. They had the guts to talk about exchange of lives as if they were the ones who put breath in us. I would never let them get away with this, and neither would I play to their tune.“Why do we need to kill them for you?” Damon asked sharply, as if knowing I wasn’t in the right state to utter a word.“You don’t need to know. All you have to do is follow orders,” Otto muttered, making Damon chuckle darkly.“Others might have done that, but we’re different. If you’re going to get us to kill the three people who hold the foundation of the werewolf association

Damon’s POV I was trying my possible best not to let my worry be too obvious. I wasn’t one to worry normally, so if I showed that now, how did I expect Robin to feel? I knew that finding their Lucian wasn’t going to be difficult, given that those men left the map for us, but my fear was getting them out of there alive. I meant every word I uttered when I told Robin the men of the shadows could be going this far just to gain power. It might seem like the most basic reason for them to go this far, but it was the most reasonable one. Everyone craves more power, no matter how much they have initially. But for some reason, I prayed I was wrong this time—that this was just a simple trap to get rid of us altogether. At least then, we could fight our way out of it. I knew Robin would hate to even think of using his powers again, but to me, that would be our last resort. If even for a second it seemed like we wouldn’t make it out alive, then we might as well destroy everything and run o

  • The Broken Beta’s Redemption    Chapter 73

Robin’s POVDamon and I had been wandering for almost a full day, only stopping to rest and regain our energy a couple of times, but we were still nowhere near the Origin Pack. You would have thought the map would make it easy for us, but it only confused us further. We had been going in circles for hours, unsure which path was truly the right one.We tried to follow Raven’s advice—following only the original lines drawn on the map, but determining which was which proved more difficult than we expected.I tried the link with Julian almost every hour. Even with the absence of whatever that fog had been, the link was silent, as if he were never there. For some reason, my wolf had calmed down, but that didn't ease the anxiety I carried. How were we supposed to find them when we couldn't even read a map properly?"Which path do you think is right this time?" Damon asked as we stopped at a path that split into two. I eyed the map in my hand, trying to see which way led forward. I let out

I didn’t know where we were, but one thing was glaring—I had been taken away from Robin once again. I still lay on the floor, my eyes not leaving the steel bars as I tried to remember what happened. The fog. The collapse. Those were the only things I could remember at this moment. I didn’t even want to think about how Robin would be feeling, going back there and not finding us. Therefore, we needed to get out of here—and fast. As long as this wasn’t the prison created by the moon, then the three of us should have no issue breaking out, as long as we combined our powers. Just wait for me, Robin. I’ll make it back to you. I wasn’t worried about his safety because I knew with Damon, he should be fine. I was more worried about us being apart. His wolf would be so restless since we had just mated. I finally forced my eyes from the bars and to Lucian and Raven, who were still passed out beside me. I moved toward them softly, making sure I was quiet enough not to alert anyone—if anyone
