"He's fine. He's just asleep from the medication," the woman says with a small laugh. I sigh in relief as Cole and Nathan walk in.

"I'll be there tomorrow morning to see him. Thank you for calling." I hang up and Nathan asks what it was about.

"An old friend of mine is in the hospital and I need to go see him. He lives in London so if I head off now I'll be able to get there in 5 or 6 hours," I say as I take off the sweatpants and gather some nicer clothes to wear.

"Should you not wait until morning?" Cole asks carefully.

"No he said he needed to see me so I'll go now. I'll call Andrew and ask him to take care of the club for me."

"We're coming with you," Nathan says and him and Cole start getting dressed.

"No you've got work," I argue but he gives me a stern look and I shut up.

"You can't drive there by yourself all night, you need me to swap over and Cole for moral support," Nathan explains and Cole grins at me.

"Fine, I'll call Thomas and ask him and Lacey to have Minnie."

Thomas and Lacey finally moved in together. Lacey is working in Thomas' hair salon since she left school and they decided to move in for convenience and for their relationship. I'm also training Lacey to be my second in command after Andrew said he wants to concentrate on his business and will be resigning as second in command once Lacey is ready. Andrew is a private detective so I understand him needing more time for his job.

When we get dressed we get some bottles of water and Cole gets snacks for the journey and we head off. Thomas has a key so we leave Minnie in the living room with some water until he gets there for her.

"So how do you know this guy?" Asks Nathan from the passenger seat.

"He was the man who took me in when I was 19. He gave me a job at his club and a few months later introduced me to bdsm. We've been keeping in touch but not as often as I'd like," I explain and Nathan nods along.

"Well I can't wait to meet him," Cole says from the back seat.

"He's great, you'll get along with him fine."

"I'm here to see Damian Black," I tell the receptionist and she gives me his room number. I get a little nervous as I go down the corridor. Damian knows about Danielle and I don't want him worrying about me when he's in a worse state at the moment. I also haven't seen him in person for a few years so I'm not sure if he looks any different.

I go into the room first and see him sat up in bed reading a book. I smile when I realise I didn't have to worry, he looks exactly the same, maybe some grey hairs scattered in his hair but barley any to notice.

"Hey Damian," I say and he looks up quickly. I lean down to hug him gently and he hugs me back with a groan of pain. "Sorry," I apologise when I realise I hurt him.

"It's so good to see you again Marcus," he says, "These must be the boyfriends."

"This is Nathan and this is Cole," I introduce them. When everyone is introduced, I sit on the chair beside Damian's bed as Nathan and Cole stand next to me.

"How are you doing?" I ask him.

"Apart from the stabbing, I'm doing fine," he says sarcastically.

"You know what I mean," I grumble and he smiles.

"It hurts quite a bit, but I've got painkillers to help with that."

"Who did this?" I ask him seriously. He sighs and doesn't answer for a minute.

"Adrian," he says quietly.

"What? I thought he went missing?"

"I was in my house when he broke in and stabbed me. He said he was coming back for you so I had to call you and make sure you were safe," Damian says. My blood runs cold when he mentions Adrian coming back for me.

"Who's Adrian?" Nathan asks worriedly.

"He was a member of my club," Damian starts, "He had always been jealous of how close me and Marcus were but I never thought anything like this would happen."

"I'm going to kill him," I say and Nathan puts his hand on my shoulder.

"Calm down Marcus," Damian says, "I gave the police everything I know about him and a picture so they will deal with him. All we need to do is stay safe."

"You're coming to stay with us then," I tell him firmly.

"I have a club to run," he argues.

"Not while you're recovering from a stab wound," I say quickly.

"I don't want to be a burden," he says while looking at his stomach where I assume the wound is.

"I'm not leaving you here alone where Adrian could come back, it'll be safer where I live because Adrian has no idea I live there," I explain and eventually Damian agrees.

"Thank you," he says and I smile.

"Anything for you. You literally saved me when I was 19, this is the least I could do."
