Ayla's pov

To me, the house now felt like home.

It felt like a cage.

I paced the living room for the fifth time in less than five minutes, trying to figure out if Killian had mentioned him going anywhere but there was nothing.

My heartbeat thundered louder than the ticking clock on the wall and every second without Killian felt wrong, like my soul was being sucked out of my body and returned, only for it to be sucked out again.

I was like a ticking time bomb and the only thing keeping bay was the spells Ivy kept on conducting.

Earlier she had searched around, though she found the garden door open, she assumed he must have gone through there.

“Gone?” I asked “He wouldn't just disappear," I said, my voice shaking despite my effort to steady it. “Not without a word, or me feeling it"

“I think it was interfered with,” Ivy said.

"What?” I turned to her.

"The bond.”

Ivy stood at the center of the room, chalk dust smeared along her fingers and sweat beads on her themes to show how l

Third person's povThe session had ended minutes ago and he knew he would need to pay his therapist for extra hours. Not a problem. “So tell me, how do you feel?" He asked calmly.Aiden sat just opposite him, he could hear the pendulum clock and the coffee brewing. Surely it was an office but the place had been designed to look cozy and warm.Aiden liked that about the office, how it looked normal, ordinary. It reflected who he used to be. Who he wanted to go back to being. "I felt disturbed, how would you feel if they told you your whole life is from a fairytale?” He asked with a slight authority in his tone. The therapist sighed slightly, Aiden could tell he didn't believe it himself but then the therapist looked up to meet his gaze, leaning his body in as he sat. "Kids,” he started. "tend to have wild imaginations." Aiden couldn't tell where he was going with this. “Kids?”The therapist sighed, letting the clock tick twice before he continued. “Listen Mr Cross. I have dea

Ayla's pov “Two days," Killian said. I sat on the comfort of the couch in the living room, which didn't feel so comfortable. What he was trying to say was that I had been in my head for two days, most times it was just dreams from the dark witch and what he did to Killian and I, other scenarios were just things I couldn't explain. Things that seemed familiar, like I had seen them before, somewhere. And then along came the urge to have Killian around me like he was going to leave any moment. Clara, on the other hand, left some seconds earlier after Tessa called her up for some investment deal. I liked the way the world had to deal with Clara and not me, it wasn't everyday a fashion tycoon dealt with stress and panic attacks. At least that was what the world believed. “Are you listening to me Ayla?" I snapped back to reality immediately, rubbing my temples slightly and letting out a small tired sigh. "Yeah, yeah I was out for two days you said” I said flatly. Killian opened

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Seventy Five: The Lunaris wolf is awake

Third person's pov For Ivy, Ayla's unconsciousness was a mystery, Though she had researched all she could about a wolf consuming a witch's powers and using them. She did know the only thing they had in common was to fight the darkness but that was all. The knowledge of the possible side effect of Ayla consuming her magic was something she hadn't gotten hold of, and leaving her to be asleep was actually her best option. And Killian? Killian was something more, it was like Ayla's awakening but it was more feral. Ivy tried to get specific information about how he felt but it was all Ayla and that she was the trigger of whatever happened to him. Ivy's actual house was dark and hopefully the only secluded place to keep a dark witch, not to mention that this was the fifth time she had been to her house since she trapped the dark witch here. The dark witch hung the same way he hanged Killian at the warehouse. His wrist was bound with a plant that couldn't let him move, Ivy had wrapped

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Seventy Four: Coma

Killian's povThe good thing about ‘my awakening’ as Ivy would describe it. Was this light weight I carried around, apart from the usual feeling I got about the darkness and everything even though my main concern was Ayla right now, was calmness. I wasn't scared of anything, of my brother coming through that door. I was convinced that I had never felt the type of power I held now, surging through my body. I exhaled sharply, the sound of everything rang in my ear, my footsteps, my ragged breathing, my quick breathes and the way I constantly sighed more than five times in an hour. It was the unusual silence that came with Ayla's alleged coma.I walked up to the coffee maker downstairs and poured myself a cup of coffee. I had been up all night and even the night before, watching over Ayla. Waiting for her to wake up. She had been unconscious ever since our encounter with my brother's witch. I saw her, she was a bait for the witch, I watched him throw her against the wall and every

Third person's pov Power was no longer something Kallum reached for. It succumbed to him now. He had it on the tip of his fingers and in his veins. He stood alone in the balcony of his chambers, his hands clasped behind his back, staring down at the pack grounds below. His subject moved like ants beneath him. Training, patrolling, laughing, living. Kallum lifted one hand slowly and the air bent. Not visibly, not yet but the space around his fingers wrapped as though his reality had learned to yield. A subtle curl of shadow slid between his knuckles, responding like a loyal beast. He smiled faintly “So eager," he mummered to no one as his eyes flashed red. ‘They feel you now,’ a voice answered him, a voice not entirely his own but he could hear it vividly in his head. Kallum didn't flinch, he had already learned the Darkforce didn't speak like mortals did and it didn't shout or command. It reminded me. "They should,” Kallum said firmly. "I am their Alpha.” ‘You are more."

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Seventy Three: The Ritual

Third person's pov BLOOD MOON PACK (Royal graveyard)The chamber beneath the pack's ancestral grounds was never meant for living wolves. It was carved deep into stone and silver, built long before Kallum's father or his father ever thought of wearing the Alpha's crest. The air smelled of silver and damp earth, no one expected grave soil to smell any better. Five witches stood with torches, it was against their will to perform black magic but with Kallum as Alpha of more than ten packs, they had no choice but to obey. Fear of being attacked by wolves. His wolves. The night was cold but Kallum was shirtless, he was prepared for the ritual. Symbols were drawn on his body, patterns across his chest and down his arms. Lila lingered near the stone steps, her fingers clenching the fabric of her dress in anxiety. She had followed him here despite his explicit command not to. She watched him move to the center of the five witches and kneeled before them. “This isn't necessary," she
