Killian's pov

I stood in front of the tall mirror inside what Isabel called a private dressing suite. A massive floor to ceiling glass windowed building.

I had trimmed my overgrown beards but not the hair. I now preferred the length.

I was still rogued but more coordinated due to my environment and progress with finding Ayla.

She called the event a grand fashion show, like it was like the moon ball but more human.

I only looked forward to it because of Ayla.

Finding her was my priority.

My shirt was half buttoned and showed off some of my skin. My jaw clenched as I attempted for the third time to fix the cufflink.

Then a soft knock came on the door, I turned to the door and there was Isabella.

Overly dressed as always, except today she dyed her hair obsidian black, which made her seem like the rest of the ladies here instead of the outcast she was.

“Having a hard time?" She strode in her tight dress and towards me, helping me cuff the links with ease. "You just have to not forc

Ayla's povStanding on the balcony had become my favorite thing to do, not because the air outside was cool to feel but because it gave room for deeper thoughts. Especially after promising Killian a solution tomorrow. My arms wrapped around me as I stared at the sky. From up here things looked calm and ordered. The door behind me opened softly. “Hey you" I didn't turn, I knew that voice even if I was in a coma. “Cheers to the one and only" Ivy stepped out beside me, leaning against the railing. She looked tired, her usual sharpness dulled around her eyes. As she blinked. She turned to me with a small smile. “Say thank you to the incoming darkness. That's the reason I'm tired to you like a lock to a key" I rolled my eyes. She always found a way to bring up the inevitable."I thought you would make it to the airport” "You needed protection there too?” She sneered. "Oh please” Then Ivy hesitated for half a breath. "I was tracking the witch," I frowned slightly. "Any news?” "I

Killian's pov The sky was dim now. And night stars shone bright, even more brighter than the moon itself. I stayed back in the room. I wished I was more like Ayla who had overgrown her fears and learned to seek ways around everything. But no. I still relived in my head the days I was locked up, uncontrollable and vicious. when Kallum had me in his clutches. I streaked my hands into my hair. The room was quiet, not the comforting kind, it was the kind that pressed against my skin.Like the world was holding its breath. I wouldn't deny that part of it was because there was a witch according to Ayla, hunting for me. I took a deep breath, Ayla's scent lingered faintly in the room, calming me as I sat on the edge of the bed, tense for no reason. But then I heard her. “Killian.." Ayla called out to me. My brow furrowed as my head snapped up. Her voice was soft and fragile, like she was in need, like it was wrong in a way something almost right could be. I straightened up and st

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Sixty Two: Back to where we ran from

Ayla's pov Early the next morning, we packed the few things we had and around nine in the night we boarded the jet. Ivy had said earlier about a protection she'd cast over us during the flight which made me relaxed. My fingers laced through Killian that hadn't said more than five words since we boarded the jet. “There's a protection spell around us, you know." I said once“Yeah. I know" he replied calmly. I knew him, he wanted a real plan, he wanted to be one step ahead of this and not laid back in spells. The flight took approximately nine hours and it wasn't until the wheels kissed the runaway and I felt Seattle air, did I let out a small breath of relief. We came down from the jet, our bags carried by private porters. I caught the figure of Clara. She stood just beyond the private terminal exit. And the moment she spotted me, she waved her hands enthusiastically. Sunglasses perched on her head as she smiled. “Hey over here" she yelled.I also had a wide smile, as I walked

Ayla's pov. The bathroom door opened to Killian, he came out with steam clinging to his skin, a white towel hanging low around his waist, droplets of water tracing slow paths down his chest. He subconsciously ran a hand through his damp hair which was oddly sexy, I admired some more until his eyes found mine as I sat with legs crossed on the edge of the bed. I hadn't moved since he went in, what Ivy said made me uncomfortable, though I tried to shake it off, it still lingered. What did she mean Aiden may not be ordinary, had my presence turned him into something else. My shoulders were slightly tensed but my gaze remained on him. “You're looking at me like I'm some weird elf" he cornered a smile which I returned. For a moment I debated on whether to tell him anything at all but it involved him and even if I wanted to shrug it off as one of Ivy's exaggerations. " Ivy called,” I said, "Before you came out.” Killian's posture changed instantly. The ease left him and was replaced

Third person's pov A normal witch's soul couldn't be in another dimension while his body was in another, it could be escorted by grim reapers who would think the soul was dead. But that is the thing with black witches and astral projecting. Their souls were already dark. The grim reaper wouldn't notice if it was a lost soul or not. It was why Erebus still sat with Kallum who took small sips from his glass. “Leave us.” Kallum turned to Lila. Lila blinked. "But..” "Now.” he snapped. Lia clenched her fist as her jaw tightened. “I want Ayla killed" “And she will be. You just have to do what you haven't been doing these past few days. Listening to me." “Oh I stopped doing that the minute you turned on me" Lila tried not to sound harsh but she meant every word. She could still feel the pressure on her neck like it was yesterday he made her personal advisor and choked her to the wall in rage. "Considering that and also the fact that I am your only ally. You have no choi

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Fifty Nine: Astral Planning 1

Third person's pov Kallum stood near the tall arched window of his room, holding a glass of almost finished alcohol. His chambers were filled with empty bottles which the servants cleared out everyday. It wasn't as though he could do anything more than to drink and wait. One of his hands clasped behind his back as he stared out at the forest outside his pack house like Killian would appear right from the trees. Kallum thought of the blood moon and how it changed everything. He did become Alpha as planned but the one thing he feared worse happened as well and now he waited on Erebus, he trusted Erebus. And the ritual he had been planning? Where he planned on channeling ancestral power to overcome Killian. Though Killian had been feral for five years, Kallum knew he was like a newborn now. Someone who was lost in something like a hibernation and was now awakened to a version of himself he must have forgotten.Regardless he needed to perform it, channeling power would give him
