Chapter — Ivy’s POV

I sat quietly in the front seat, my hands resting on the box beside me, waiting for the driver to get in.

The murmur of voices from outside drifted in through the open window, mixed with the faint scent of wood and the occasional smell of the damp ground.

I volunteered to go since I actually used to do this with Cassie. We would go there along with a couple of people and we would distribute all the goods. What always made it worth it was seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces.

It’s just sad that a lot of children are in foster homes. I know that their parents have good reasons for putting them there, and some don’t even have a choice at all.

I just don’t get why they even think of bringing a child to life when they’re not even capable of providing and taking good care of them. And the worst part, the kids doesn’t have a choice but to continue living without them, without knowing how it’s like to have parents who loves them.

Some are lucky enough to be adopted. But
