(Selene’s POV)

The library here is far bigger than I expected.

Columns of stone lined the aisles, carved with strange patterns that shimmered faintly under the golden light of the chandeliers. The shelves stretched endlessly in every direction.

It was quiet too, and well…seeing that only a few people are here so I guess there should really be no much noise here.

I wonder why only a few people spend their time here. If I have access to such diverse books I’m afraid I wouldn’t be leaving here any time soon.

I had come here right after lunch, hoping the silence would help me think. But the more I stared at the rows of old tomes, the heavier the air seemed to grow.

Every step I took echoed faintly against the marble floor, swallowed by the stillness of the room.

The grand library of the castle was known to hold knowledge from every corner of the world—about kingdoms, lost realms, magic, and ancient races. Everything one could possibly want to know existed somewhere within these shelves

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Two Souls One Gift

(Selene’s POV)“What are you—”Before I could finish, he was already looking around, his eyes glinting with amusement. He walked in leisurely, brushing his fingers over the wooden frame of the window, the books on my desk, and the soft drapes that swayed from the breeze.“Cozy,” he said casually, sitting down on the chair by the window, crossing one leg over the other like he’d been here a hundred times before. “Smells like lavender.”I stared at him, my mouth hanging slightly open. “Get out.”Fenrir looked at me with a teasing grin, clearly amused. “Why so hostile?”“Because you just barged into my room!” I snapped, crossing my arms tightly. He tilted his head a little, pretending to think about it. “Hmm. True. But in my defense, I did knock.”I glared at him. “Yeah, but it doesn’t mean you can just com inside uninvited.”He chuckled softly, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at me. “As if you’re gonna ever invite me.” He snickered. “What were you doing anyway?”“I was resti

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Distorted

(Selene’s POV)When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was the hard surface beneath me. My cheek was pressed against the cold floor, not the softness of my bed. For a moment, I didn’t even move. My mind felt like heavy, refusing to make sense of anything.I blinked a few times before slowly pushing myself up. My body felt weak, like I’d been running for hours. My hair stuck to my face, and I brushed it away as I looked around in confusion.I was still in my room. Everything was the same, the bed was neatly made, the window slightly open, letting the soft morning light pour in. Wait…It’s morning?Morning?!My heart skipped a beat. I remembered being awake last night, standing by the window, writing my name on the glass. Then, suddenly…I ended up in that weird place covered with fog. And there was that reflection of me…telling me all sorts of weird things. However…I can’t remember much of it.“Did I fall asleep without knowing?” I whispered to myself, my voice hoarse. Before I cou

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Reflection

(Selene’s POV) When I got back to my room, I didn’t bother lighting the candles. The silence felt heavy but strangely comforting. I just wanted to be alone—to lie down and maybe forget everything for a while.I fell onto the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling as my thoughts replayed the day in pieces. The mountain, Fenrir, the way his voice softened when he spoke to me. And then his words—the ones that somehow stuck to my mind like a whisper I couldn’t shake.“You don’t have to be sad. A mate is said to be what is chosen for you, but in the end, you can always be free to tread and choose the person who you want to spend the rest of your life with. No gods, no bonds to dictate your life. Just… you.”Those words had felt strange at first. Like something I shouldn’t believe in—but wanted to.I closed my eyes, remembering how serious he had looked when he said it. There was a calm in his tone, but behind it, there was something else. Something deep and familiar, like he had once believe

  • The Broken Luna Returns   What it means to truly live?

(Selene’s POV) “Open your eyes now,” Fenrir said softly. His voice was low, calm, like the whisper of wind passing through tall grass.I hesitated for a moment, my lashes trembling before I finally let them flutter open. And when I did, the air caught in my throat. Before me stretched a breathtaking view, so vast and unreal it made my heart still for a second. We were standing at the edge of a high mountain, and beneath us lay an endless sea of emerald forest. Trees swayed gently as if moving in rhythm with the wind’s hum. Sunlight streamed through gaps in the clouds, touching the leaves until they glowed. In the distance, a waterfall cascaded down a cliff, its mist catching the light and scattering it into tiny rainbows. It was nothing like I’ve ever seen before. It almost looked like the entire world was alive and breathing in perfect harmony. There was only one word that came to mind that could describe this place.

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Dwindling Emotions

(Selene’s POV) There was laughter, a few surprised gasps, and a flurry of congratulations that came their way. My lips parted slightly, but no words came out. Ryker gazed at me and there was something unreadable in his gaze, guilt, maybe regret, but before I could make sense of it, he looked away. I stood there, my fingers curling tightly around the strap of the small bag I carried. It wasn’t supposed to sting this much. I had told myself I’d moved on. I had even started believing it. But seeing him there, beside her, with the woman he chose over me—it felt like something heavy had settled deep in my chest. Still, I walked forward. I helped them unpack, placing boxes down beside the stairs, keeping my hands busy so my thoughts wouldn’t spill. Ryker turned slightly when I got close, his movements slowing. “Hey,” he said, his voice low.
